OK. People. You gotta visit this place. Unique. Two floors. I perched in the balcony among books a mind brick and enjoyed a Ruben with slaw. Wow. Loaded baked potato salad was great. Neat experience. I’ll return when I’m in Port Huron.

My sister and I had lunch yesterday. She had the mushroom brie soup and I had the spicy black bean soup. Spot on for both. She enjoyed her half order of Greek salad and my salad was the spinach, raisin, feta and grape salad. I held the bacon crumbles to save the calories for my sandwich. I ordered the grilled cheese. The sandwich was crispy and buttery, the cheese gooey and the onion, bacon and tomato were in the correct proportions. We both ordered tea– her the iced green and me the chamomile lemon. My tea was delivered in the cutest mini tea pot. The décor is bohemian/gothic like, which I find very interesting. Wonderful meal and a wonderful price. All this for under $ 30. Can’t beat it(especially when up the street they are selling a peanut and butter jelly sandwich for $ 6 on the kid’s menu).

I love this place. The ambiance is fun and interesting; service is great. 3 visits. 3 servers. 3 meals. All excellent. 9 soups to choose from. There are lots of menu choices– food and beverage. Excellent tea and coffee drinks.

It is a cozy restaurant with music on the upper level at night. The building is old dark brick, wood floors and a sense of history is reinforced by the heavy wood tables adorned with different literary figures. It’s a classic place one would expect tho find in a college town, and indeed it is something of a hang out for folk from St. Clair Community College. The food is reasonable and good. They’ve got several different coffees, wonderful soups, and entrees lovingly made and named for Edgar Allen Poe short stories and poems. I’ve enjoyed their bisque(wonderful), and a corn beef sandwich. Intimate. Comfortable. Relaxing. My only complaint is that it is a small place and if too crowded it can spark mild claustrophobia. But this is a minor issue.

I love The Raven! The food is delicious, the coffee is the best in town, and the beer selection is well balanced. If you’re looking for any or all of the above, mixed in with good conversation and really friendly service… this is the place!

4.5 Stars but am rounding up. I was in PH for work and decided to do some Unilocal Exploring. I settled on getting some breakfast at Raven Coffeehouse. I think I may have found my new go-to breakfast/lunch spot in PH. This place is super comfy with a real warm feel. Their is a real clubhouse atmosphere which is conducive to either socializing or melting into the background. I enjoyed just sitting back with my cup of coffee and sandwich eavesdropping on locals talking about their latest business ventures and Taylor Swift. I had the Breakfast B.E.L.T. which is a full-sized sandwich with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise served on our grilled rustic country loaf. Super simple, and very delicious. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. I was able to get in and out of there in about 25 minutes. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quick bite in a super cool environment to check this joint out.

This place was a nice little gem. My fiancée and I took a trip out this way and decided to stop in. So many different coffee options, and the food was pretty good. I wouldn’t say it was great, but the building and it’s allure is a lot of the appeal. We found ourselves just walking around looking at the unique building. We were pleased with this restaurant and would come back if we were out this way.

My boyfriend took me here a few weeks ago, and I’m obsessed! I don’t know where to start. The place itself looks super cool and has everything a coffee house needs. Comfy seating(including couches and arm chairs) and amazing coffee! I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. I got the«Coconut Mocha» frozen with an extra shot of espresso and it was SO good! My only problem with this place is its about an hour from me. I also had the breakfast BLT sandwich which was really good. My boyfriend had one of their specialty drinks and a sandwich he loved as well. I’m so glad he showed me The Raven! Talk about a diamond in the rough!

It’s The Raven, under new and improved ownership! You’ll enjoy a wide variety of great drinks served by a highly experienced staff in a unique setting with wonderful ambiance. Try it. They have Italian and French sodas, too, which alone are worth going for if you’ve never tried one. The food is easily among the best in town, and consistently so.

Nice coffehouse besides the port huron waterfront. It offers a great selection of hand crafted bevrages. However, their drip coffee is just a step above truck stop coffee. Recently, I realized that their coffee tastes great if you order a french press.

It might be easier to write about a disappointing aspect of this dining experience than to dive into all the accolades, which will keep me tapping away on these tiny keys quite a while. Ok. Here goes. Something that didn’t meet my expectations… Um … The brown mustard in the hot turkey pastrami sandwich was more sweet than spicy? Weak. I know. Now to the accolades. Fresh ingredients, creatively combined to create interesting entrée options. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, soup and breakfast creations. We have tried many selections and liked them all. Today, the hot turkey pastrami with creamy potato salad and delicious ice tea hit the spot. My husband’s Santa Fe wrap looked was flavorful and filled with crisp veggies. We always tip the meal off with a large mocha, just the way I love them. Steamed creamy with not too much chocolate. Looking around the restaurant, I was tempted by the fruit smoothies and even the green smoothie looked fabulous. What I love most about this coffee house is its character. It’s half used bookshop, half living room. You can lounge, chat, read or dine. The lower level bar is lovely while the upper floor is quieter and comfy. So many cool posters, books, and pieces of art. Then there’s the view of the St Clair River. Need I go on? Go try this place. You will be a fan too.

A must! This place is a coffee-shop-out-of-Harry-Potter mixed with new age art gallery! The old all-wooden walls and floors are complemented with amazing stunning stained glass lights, beautiful for sale paintings, and high book shelves built into the walls. Every angle of this place is funky and fun! Tables are on the main floor and a few on the 2nd floor loft but there are some big comfy couches and a low bar lining the 2nd floor balcony. It is great for relaxing or getting some work done. The coffee — fantastic! I actually went twice in one day to get a second cup and there are so many options and flavours. For tea drinkers you will be happy to hear the tea list looked even longer! We came for breakfast. I tried a little from each plate and everything was good. The portions were perfect– Enough to fill you up and not leave a bunch of wasted food. There is a little gift shop where you can pick up the Raven’s coffee, tshirts, mugs, cups and new age trinkets too.

Now, let me start off with saying that usually I would give this place a 5+ stars, however on this occasion our service was absolutely horrendous! Saying that, I would like to just tell you that we drive about an hour to come hour here, wen we can because I am a HUGE advocate of this place. I’ve introduced many of my friends to The Raven and I know that they still frequent the café as well. With that being said I will tell you how I feel my group was wronged, leaving me feeling embarrassed to even bring this new group in the first place. Upon arriving, the place was not very busy so we seated ourselves in the restaurant area by the bar. It took our waiter about 10 mins to notice us(no big deal), he shouted out to us from the bar where he proceeded to talk with the person working behind the bar(whatever, still). Now, this isn’t the first time that my service has been sketchy, normally it’s understandable. At any rate, we looked through the menus and all were ready to order. He then began sitting down at an empty table across from the bar and have his own time(okay?). Now I have to mention, even though it was an embarrassment on my part, but I don’t want to have the waiter think that I had a problem with this. I didn’t have my official copy of my ID and he denied me to get a drink. This I completely understand and I have absolutely no disagreements with. I just want to make that clear. Well, after that mishap on my part. He decided he wanted to give us more time to decide what we wanted and disappeared for all of 15 minuets where we watched him ignore our table. When he finally took our order, he remarked, with an attitude, «okay, is that all?» I mean did we order too much food? Between four people, we had two quesadillas and a sandwich and drinks. Seems like a simple order. I don’t know if maybe he is partial to serving people only getting drinks, or what. He then had to ask me to repeat my order(which was the other quesadilla and then to top it off, about 20 minuets after we ordered and he proceeded to give other tables more attention than us, he asked one of my guests with the sandwich what he had ordered(wat? Are we going to even get our food?). Anyway, the food was delicious and surprisingly our order was placed correctly. Upon trying to check out was another dilemma. Our waiter, just kept sitting at the two tables with other people right beside us and we were all clearly finished eating. There was a point where my table was just looking at him and making jokes about him just being oblivious as to how customer service works. Now, don’t get me wrong, those other two tables probably loved him, but if we were really too much for him to handle is it our responsibility to ask for another waiter? I’m embarrassed and sorry to my guests for the way our experience went and I hope that this never happens to anyone else. Again, I love this place! And I would say to go here, just look out for the regular looking white guy with a beard and an awful attitude problem. I hope he doesn’t cause anymore disservices to The Raven’s reputation. I’m sorry that I had to write this review and I will amend it with better service in future visits.

I love this place. It has such a welcoming feel, with the books lining the walls, the indie music playing and the upstairs open floor concept. Everyone who works here is fun and friendly. It’s clean, smells yummy and the coffee/tea selection is robust. But, the best thing about the raven us the food! I bet there’s not a bad thing on the menu. Truly. I’ve had the soups, the BLT, desserts, etc. Nothing bad, ever. They have like 8 different soups available every day along with specials. The patrons come in a wide variety, with an entertaining and eclectic group of regulars that congregate around the coffee bar most evenings. Cool theme nights, like Wednesday film night, viewing upstairs. Watching from overstuffed couches and chairs or traditional table and chairs, with great quality surround sound. «Hard Days Night» played Thanksgiving Eve. Great atmosphere. Moderately priced but well worth every penny. Heading there again soon. I’ll post pics.

Cool bookstore/coffee bar/bar vibe with lots of books, nooks, couches and board games. Service can be intermittent & our server was very new and still learning. We got several soups which were all solid 3.5÷5. The gf got a hummus pizza(vegetarian option) which she says was a «4÷5, but very garlicky» I had an amaretto coffee which was tasty and we hung out afterwards and enjoyed the bookstore-ambiance. I don’t know what else Port Huron has to offer, as I was jut traveling through, but I’d eat there again if I found myself on that end of the world.

I went for breakfast and was so impressed that I’ve gotta go back soon, to try lunch. I found it to be a bright spot in the PH ho-hum dining scene. PH needs more places like this, not afraid to deviate from the«fried American food» formula that Michigan seems to rely upon(cough-cough-coney-island-cough). I really enjoyed my chai latte and quiche. Hurray! for the Raven :-) (One tip for the proprietor, though: either repair or replace your chairs that need it.)

A beautiful spot in my hometown with a Poe themed menu and atmosphere. The Raven menu offers all sorts of uniquely named salad, soup and sandwich combinations, along with a spattering of E.A.P. trivia. Coffee and drink choices are huge too. This visit I discovered that a simple hot cider on a chilly night tastes special here. Must have been the«magical» cinnamon stick I found at the bottom of my cup.

Great service. Amazing soups and menu selections. Décor is really smart, authors on tables, books, etc. Vast hot and cold drink options. I wish this were closer to home! Sit upstairs forp a nice window view. Outdoor seats available also. Well lit basement to get to bathrooms.
