After moving into a new apartment, I decided to check out a local laundromat that was open late. Went to this place and I have to say, I will never come back here. Not only is it unreasonably priced, but the machines are dirty. I found random hairs on my clothes that I know were not mine and also the staff was rude. They must be dating but during my visit, they were arguing and made my time there very uncomfortable.

I have been using this laundromat for years I stopped going so many changes and the customer service is not great and the machines are always broken or dirty. They had free drying but no more also very over crowded

This place is again 24hr. Not to bad of a place. They use to have free drying if you washed there, but now gotta pay for it. Was over 2yrs. The crowd isn’t that great from week to week. The staff is ever changing the Machines are okay. Always hard to find a dryer there is so many of them always taken up with very little people in here. Plus dryers almost always need more time. Will be shopping around to see if there’s any better deals.

Second time my clothes came out like this at «Sunshine laundromat» in port Jeff station. The attendant told me it is lipstick. Unless my 8 year old son is cross dressing, it is not lipstick.(see pics)

If you’re looking for a clean, well-lit 24-hour laundromat in the Port Jefferson area, this should be your top choice. I work late and often do not have time to do laundry during reasonable business hours. There have been many times Sunshine Laundromat has saved me by being open late when I run out of clean underwear or right before a business trip when I haven’t had time to pack until the night before. In addition to their late hours, they’re also the cheapest laundromat in the area thanks to the free drying. I usually do laundry alone and have always felt safe inside. The staff is friendly and easy to find when it comes time to load the dryer and get the free drying. There are a lot of amenities — free wifi, an ATM on site(they don’t take credit cards), change machines, coke and snack machines, arcade games, a massage chair, coin-op soap dispensers, an internet-enabled computer, and free coffee when you do your laundry in the morning. At the counter, they have a large selection of soaps, fabric softeners, laundry bags, etc.(note — soaps are pretty pricey; best to bring your own). They also have three widescreen TVs and cable so you can watch tv while you fold clothes. They have at least 50 washing machines and two walls of dryers, and maybe ten long folding tables. What I like best about this place is that it is well lit and clean, clean, clean. If something spills, they mop it up right away, so it never has a dingy feeling. The machines are in good repair but if one goes down they will refund you and put a sign up. The cleanliness and lighting contribute to a safe feeling, which is important for me in any place I might be frequenting alone late at night. There is plenty of free parking in the lot they share with some sort of kids playcenter and a trophy shop. The lot is right across from the train station so occasionally there is an inebriated or otherwise sketchy person in the lot hanging out. I have seen the owners ask such people to leave the property and it has never been a problem. Also, late at night it is easy to park right next to the building, and twice staff members have offered to help me to the car at night to ensure my safety(the lot was empty both nights but I appreciated the offer). That alone would earn them points in my book, but the rest of their business is also great. In addition to the self service machines, they also do drop-off service, which is charged by the pound. Prices per load: $ 2.75 — single $ 4.75 — double $ 5.75 — triple $ 6.75 — «super giant» Note: This business occupies the same site of the old Port Jefferson Launder Center, right across the street from the Port Jefferson train station. It has been under new management and using the new name for a couple years now.
