The Hess store has a great selection of subs and salads. They’ve also catered group events and everyone loved the subs. Besides that, it’s one of those old school corner store deli/​food markets you remember from those old T.V. shows. It’s gotta be the best place in Port Jervis and the staff is pretty friendly.

Best italian sub I have ever had. Best turkey sub, best cheese sub… just get a sub, and tell them with ‘everything’! The seasonings and blend of vinegar and mayo mix together amazingly! I look forward to it every time I visit. The italian sub here is perfection!

Recently ordered several subs from them. All very, very good. I would have to say, they are quite possibly the best subs in town.
Also ordered some macaroni, cucumber, and tomato/​mozzarella salads with our subs. They were a little bland but passable in a pinch, a little too pricey for the quality but may order again if hungry enough.
Definitely a deli to return to, repeatedly.

Yummmmmm. Visiting this area? Go down the river! Going down the river? You’re going to get hungry! Hungry yet? Shoulda went and packed yourself some Hess’! Don’t feel like cooking dinner this summers night? I could go for a nice big sub from Hess’! So good!
