Well-Sweep Herb Farm

Beautiful nursery and learning center for gardeners. There’s far more than herbs here. Lots of hard to find plants, knowledgable service. I wish it was closer to my home. It’s a great place to walk around and get inspired.
We took a class about lavender and made a wreath. It was so pleasant and informative, I’m going to look into other events here.

Every year, when we are escaping NYC, & getting away for a little vacation in Milford, Frenchtown, or Asbury, we always hit this wonderful little herb retreat. A truly special garden spot, with a myriad of herb selections to go home & plant (the largest around) to the point where a person can not, at least along the east coast, consider being a true herb gardener, without visiting this place when the weather turns nice. They have a great catalog, & special events all year long. The staff knows all about herbs & is very helpful with all manner of advice. The only downside is that we always spend more than we go there meaning to, on plants to bring back to Staten Island.
nine times out of ten, when people are walking in my herb gardens, at home, & they freeze in their tracks, captivated by some special, never seen herb, it is from Well-​Sweep in NJ. It can be just a little difficult to find, but it is worth the nice drive to get to, in the end.
When we stay at the Berry Preserve B&B in Asbury, Steve Berry has become an expert in giving us the best directions to this treasure of an outing.
