Unilocal is asking me «What keeps you coming back?» Answer — my aunt likes their rice. Pretty good food(I go with the Pollo bowl; rice, beans, protein, and then you dress it up at the toppings station) and quite friendly. Plus they have yucca boiled or fried here, which is just awesome. I could eat yucca until the heat death of the universe. Plus it’s one of the better places to grab some food at that I-95 offramp without driving a while, so it’s a marginally better choice than, say, Wawa sandwiches. BTW it’s pronounced«POY-yo» and not«polo» AUNTCAROL

Clean bright and incredibly friendly. My «Tropichop» with MOJO pork was well prepared and yummy.

Great change of pace from the same old fast food fare. Salads and Tropichops are always delicious. Large portions too! My only negatives are that the fries are usually a bit old and on the cruncy side and they often forget to include items that I order, but always correct the error happily. Also, although the selections on the salsa bar are plenty and yummy(especially the cilantro garlic sauce), the bar itself is often sloppy with sauces dripped all over the counter and spoon handles. The soda station is usually a sticky wet mess as well. This baffles me as the always have 1 or 2 lobby staff on hand for serving food and keeping things tidy. Other than the fries, the food has always been fresh and top notch. It’s a must if you’re looking for something different

These are popping up everywhere. It was late and the only thing open at 11:00pm. I ordered ½ chicken with rice and black beans. Plus we ordered the chicken wings that said citrus marinated. Ok. Here’s the deal. This is basically El Pollo Loco’s start up sister and the chicken is cooked on a grill. It’s delicious too as is the wings that were so so very good. The red beans and black beans were also very very good. The manager said the make them fresh every day and I believed her. They didn’t taste like the canned you get at el pollo loco. I was surprised because the prices are very reasonable. We ordered two of the half chicken meals with 2 sides and 5 wings. Less than $ 20 and more than enough food. Oh. Rice comes with every meal and they have white. Brown. And a rice pilaf like style. I was pleasantly surprised and will be back. Healthier than anything else out there. Enjoy b

Wow, first time here and I have to say very impressed. Great selection and so different than the norm fast food. The staff was very friendly the place was super clean(new) and the food superb. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something outside the box but delicious.

Wish they had these around where I live. Road trip stop for us, quick and delicious. Pleasant staff, clean restaurant. Plenty of room even at lunch time. Real food, healthy choices are easy to make.

If you like sweet plantains – order extra – because these are pretty decent. The chicken is sub-par but the sauces at the sauce bar inside– definitely take It to another level(thank god). I recommend going in and avoiding the drive through because you need to get some of the sauces! Black beans and rice, shredded pork and corn cake casserole were all fairly tasty add ons! It’s not the greatest restaurant but I still halfway enjoyed it!

I am so surprised they have let this place go so quickly. One would think with brand new competition next door, they would do something to hold on to their clients. But then again since a few weeks after opening, the service here has been kind of slow. Tonight not only was the dining room service slow, but with people sitting at only about 5 tables, there weren’t any clean tables to sit at. It seems with their new table service, and no customer garbage cans, they think just removing our dirty tray and dishes makes the table clean. NOT. Then the chicken in my Tropichop was cold. Too upset at that point to say anything. And was missing one of three entrees when they brought us the food. Then I could talk about the bathroom but I won’t waste any more time on that. On the bright side, when I had the opportunity to mention to the manager there wasn’t a clean table in her dining room, she did take action. However she should have been aware already. Only reason they got two stars. And one more positive, the plantains were awesome. I’m from South Florida and have business down there. The Pollo Tropicals down there are dependently good. I wish this one was as well! We would go there much more. And lastly, to get a 78 on your health inspection is ridiculous for a chain. If I realized that at the beginning, I’d have skipped it. «A“s aren’t really that hard to get and I normally check and skip anything below a high«B».

Surprisingly good, fast Spanish food. I went on a Tuesday night and the place was clean, no wait, and friendly staff. I couldn’t believe that my yellow rice had flavor and the red beans were delicious. My chicken was better than KFC too. Get a free, delicious meal with a cluck and a yellow shirt! What’s not to love?! Will add to my list of local faves.

The food here is great — like nothing else you’ll get in a restaurant chain. It’s a Cuban-Puerto Rican type of food that offers a real nice change of pace from the same old wings, wings, burgers, and wings. The sauces are outstanding, the sides are outstanding, everything is just great.

The food was bland but most of all the place was filthy. It was my first visit with my family on a Sunday afternoon. The floor was dirty and littered with garbage, most of the empty tables were poorly wiped if they’d been wiped at all. I was very disappointed and we won’t be back. It was not busy at all. this is poor management and supervision.

Very disappointed. Worse meal ever. Burnt plantains. Over done chicken(dry tasteless). Mushy beans. Won’t go back to this location anytime soon.

This place is great! So glad to find a Pollo Tropical this far north. All of the deliciousness of Miami with none of the chaos or attitude!

.I’ve tried this place a few times now it’s very hit or miss sometimes the chicken is very dry I would go with boneless chicken it’s not as dry. but as a fast food alternative it’s a pretty good choice

Tropichop was awesome but the service was SLOW. It took 20 minutes to bring out my food. I very nice server noticed me sitting with my #34 sign twiddling my thumbs and asked about my meal… Apparently it made it to the server screen but not the chef screen… The delay almost got them 2 stars but the server was polite and offered a passable explanation… Kudos to her.

Haven’t been here in ages. As a Miami native I remember going here to pick up a family meal for dinner when younger. The menu has changed and become more commercial to appeal to the masses but nonetheless the quality for value can not be beat. ¼ chicken with two sides and a chicken quesadilla combo for $ 13, c’mon. We went at 845pm on a Tuesday night and the brown rice was hard but once I brought it to their attention they gave me white and apologized. Staff was supper attentive and picked up our trays and such quickly. I was impressed with the few changes they’ve made including their sauces. This is a fast food alternative and much needed closer to home too! Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The women’s restroom was also very clean.

Ehhhhh. that about sums up my review. I went on a Saturday at 8. so it was no reason that the chicken was dried out epically since it was dark meat. it was also no reason that the thigh was fit for a two year old. it’s nobody there so they didn’t have to be stingy. I liked the BOGO ¼ coupon I used but the food looked like it was sitting out all day. Gross. it’s too commercial for me. they left the quality back in the tropics.

Gave this place a second shot and it was just okay. The parking lot and entries were dirty looking and my co-diner said the bathroom is already falling apart. They just don’t seem to care at all. I did contact corporate about many issues and they have contacted me and provided me with meal vouchers. I will go back ONE more time. That’s all I will give this place.

Decided to give this Pollo another chance tonight. That may have been a mistake. After informing the manager of the problems I had on my last two visits, I was treated to a 16 minute wait for my food. Awesome. Not. :-( THEN, I noticed that the white meat I asked for was actually a breast, and a leg. I think that might be a problem… What the heck is going on in Port Orange? I love Pollo Tropical in general, but I’m beginning to hate this location now.
