Went for St Patrick’s day corned beef/cabbage/potatoes/carrots plus it came with a salad. Very good. Service was excellent.

I am on vacation from Cleveland, OH and was looking for a non-chain restaurant to try. This was a fantastic choice. It was a busy Saturday night, but we didn’t wait too long. The service was fantastic, the place was clean, the food was exactly what I wanted, and the bill was incredibly reasonable. There was something for everyone — I got a club sandwich with fruit salad, my mom got a bacon wrapped filet.

Wow. What a restaurant. My sisters and I found this place online. We have eaten at the Monterey Grill which is owned by the same people. They also own Malibu Grill. Outstanding. Great variety of menu options. Between the four of us we had a hamburger, chicken gumbo, spinach salad and club croissant sandwiches. After we ordered they brought us cinnamon buns-not little ones either. Warm and delicious. Service was quick and our tea glasses never emptied. I strongly suggest that you put this restaurant on your list. You will not get disappointed.

My cousin and I went to San Diego Grill for lunch today. It looks pretty small on the outside, but it is actually a pretty big restaurant. We thought that we would have a wait because there were a few women sitting out on benches in the ‘waiting area,’ but we were actually seated almost immediately. Perhaps because it was just the two of us. Our waiter was very friendly. He took our order, and made sure that all the substitutions my pregnant cousin requested were met. The food came out pretty quickly. We had chips and salsa for appetizers, and the chips were still warm when they came out. Had a nice crunch, and freshness to them. I had the chicken tenders with french fries. The fries were crispy, and seasoned —tasted great. Wished it was a larger serving size though. Chicken tenders were crisp, and tasty. I would certainly visit SD Grill again!

Came here for lunch with the family today. Madison was our waitress and was a charming little ray of sunshine. She was friendly, efficient and did a wonderful job! I had the citrus tomato salmon. Quite delicious! My husband had the cilantro lime chicken and was happy with his order. I snuck some of his mashed potatoes and they were sublime:) Others in our party had Rubens and they stated their approval. Joshua the bartender was great as well! A lovely place with attentive service. Would return in the future!

We went here after a movie for an early dinner. The menu has something for everyone. We started with some chips and salsa, which were served with warm chips and the salsa has just the right amount of heat. I got the Cobb salad which had very fresh ingredients and a generous amount of grilled chicken. My wife got the Mahi Sandwich which was very fresh and cooked just right. Our server was pleasant and checked on us frequently. A nice little free bonus were the warm cinnamon rolls that they serve. They were so good. We totally enjoyed the San Diego grill and will go back for sure.

Aside from the slumping service we keep getting – they also keep removing the items I loved on the menu – like the buffalo chicken strip basket – these were amazing! And asking for chicken fingers with a side of buffalo is NoT the same! –still they haw the best chicken fingers around(so does Malibu and Monterrey – since they all use the same homemade recipe/same owner). They also got rid of the spinach strawberry salad?! That was amazing – and then they got rid of the mango smoothie??? Uhhhh you’re killin’ me here San Diego!

Took my grandmother to lunch here. Cute décor. Our server was very courteous and helpful when it came to the menu. Service was fast, and the food was good(try the fried zucchini!). Had what seemed to be a manager or two stop by and ask how everything was. Overall it was a very nice(and affordable) experience. I will be back!

We have eaten here on several occasions. One time bringing a party of 10 to sit outside and we had a great time. Each time has been very nice and the food has always been good. I tend to lean towards the Mexican flair when I am here. If I wanted a burger I would go to Red Robin. Love the outdoor seating area. The service has been from OK to great. You never know what you will get when you enter.

Generally I think every place deserves a second chance before receiving a one-star rating, but in this case, I was so disgusted when I left that I knew they weren’t deserving of it. It was nearly empty when we got there at about 7:30pm and were very pleasantly greeted. We waited a little longer than we should have for our server but it was not excessive. We didn’t wait long for our food but at best it was lukewarm and mediocre. We had hoped for refills on our drinks but after waiting so long, we were anxious just to get our check. We looked around for our server and incredulously spotted him tending bar… either clueless or could care less that we had been waiting so long for service. We sent someone to get him and although he came right over, he knew by that point we were very unhappy with him. Not surprisingly, he turned on the charm. Really? The Pavilion of Port Orange is such a nice and new area… it deserves better than a place like this.

Stumbled upon San Diego Grill in Port Orange. What a great find!!! Danielle our server was friendly and patient while looked over the menu repeatedly. They serve warm cinnamon rolls while you’re waiting. My grilled salmon was tasty, & my picky daughter enjoyed her chicken salad croissant. The food was really good!

This was a recommendation from my in-laws. We came here for the gluten free menu. The atmosphere was very welcoming. I love the setup of the restaurant… especially with the bar in the back corner. The hosts/hostess at the front all greeted us the movement we walked in. The waiter was excellent! We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer. It wasn’t tasty at all… it might have even been a day or two old. We didn’t mention anything to the waiter because we ate about half of the guacamole. Tanya had the Salmon Salad while I chomped down on the California Chicken Sandwich. Both our meals were delicious. San Diego Grill is just as good as its sister restaurant Monterey Grill. Worth a pit stop for lunch.

This was my second visit here and returned because I enjoyed their cheese and nut salad so much on my previous visit. They did not disappoint this time either as far as the food goes. After waiting about 15 minutes for a table at the bar, we were shown to a table and then waited another 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When Donovan showed up, he apologized after I told him we were getting ready to leave, and explained the hostess failed to tell him he had customers. I wasn’t happy with his excuse but gave him a chance. He turned out to be a very attentive server and didn’t miss a beat, seeing that all our needs were taken care of without being overly obnoxious about it. Donovan actually is the reason I gave them 3 stars. Like others have reviewed, the service is generally slow and I even commented to the manager, when asked, that the service started out too slow but got better once the waiter arrived. As far as the food goes, there are too many choices on the menu. I had a chicken, bacon, avocado wrap along with a salad this time. My wrap was a little dry but the salad was good. Don’t pass on the tater tots as they’re nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. Our meals were served quickly and I couldn’t help but think that Donovan had something to do with this! Won’t go out of my way to eat there again but with another visit to the Pavilion movie theater I might consider it.

We were happy we made the decision to eat at San Diego Grill. The décor was contemporary, with very reasonable pricing. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals, which included fish tacos, a Mahi Reuben, and various burgers. The only drawback was a limited craft beer selection, and no draft beer. Kind of unusual for a restaurant that has«San Diego» in its name. Regardless, the food was high quality, delicious and worth another trip.

Chose this place over Red Robin. Big mistake. First, although there were over ten waiters working in the restaurant while it was slow, it took about ten minutes for them to even notice my friends and I had even walked through the door. Can’t really blame them though, there is no door chime and there is a huge wall blocking the door from view of anywhere that isn’t right at the front of the restaurant. We finally were seated and ordered drinks. I ordered the blueberry tea. The first glass was delicious, the second was disgusting. Not sure what happened but you only get one free refill on the blueberry tea, which is crap. After we received our drinks it took over a half hour for the waitress to even take our order. I remind you it was a slow day, barely five tables. When she finally came back I ordered the Hangover Burger. It took another thirty minutes to get the food. I specifically asked for it to be rare. When it arrived it was well done with ZERO pink. The manager did comp the meal but it was annoying. I would’ve had them replace the burger but after an hour of waiting I was starving. The food was good though, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. If the service was better I would definitely return, but as it stands I will not be back. Don’t have the time.

Not very clean and lacking friendly service. We waited at the entrance waiting to be seated for 10 minutes during a slow lunch. No apology… Just a lack luster«Hi.» We were sat In a booth up front even though we were among the first to arrive for lunch… The place was empty. It did not appear to be vacuumed and needed some air freshener or something. The food was good though and saves the 2 star rating. Had Mahi Tacos that was good with seemingly fresh avocado… Which I am a sucker for. I do not see us returning solely because the service and cleanliness. It’s a shame… Felt like it has potential… Expected more from a place located in the Pavilion in Port Orange.

Sat at a table outside and waited and waited and waited, watched our server walk by about 10 times before we decided to leave and go to 5 Guys. What’s even more disheartening is that when I told the«Manager» we were walking out due to the lack of server attention, he said«Okay.» Are you kidding me??? Being in the industry for as long as I was, this was the most unpleasant and disrespectful experience I have had at a restaurant. Would never even think about setting foot in this establishment ever again. Rude, unconcerned with the quality of service and to have a floor manager express no regret for the pitiful service is mind blowing. A simple sorry or I apologize for your experience would have sufficed… I guess he is used to mediocrity of the front of house staff. 5 Guys was delicious as always and quick to get our food! Go to 5 Guys instead, it’s right across the street!!!

Maybe it’s because of what I tried but I’m not as impressed with this grill as I was with its sister restaurant Monterrey grill. had the bbq mahi fish tacos… umm not the greatest combo for me. also with chips wasn’t all that it was missing something. I’ll stick with Monterey next time.

I was hesitant at first to try this new restaurant but I’m so glad I did. The burger I had there was one of the best I’ve ever had(Blues Burger). Their Bloody Mary was excellent. Everything was well seasoned and prepared excellently. A great, casual place in a good location. I’ve returned several times now and the quality is consistent.

Another great restaurants by the owners & management of Monterrey & Malibu Beach Grill! I’ve been twice now once to the soft open and we went again the next week and sat at the bar fro drinks, appetizers & desserts! I was pleased both time and plan on going back tomorrow to try the weekend brunch since we received a gift card to go there again! My boyfriend has an office in the Pavilion and said he could see himself becoming a lunch regular. They have a large menu with American selections as well as «Cali-Mex» items as well. On our first trip we tried the queso & chips and enjoyed them quite a bit! We also sampled the onion straws which were a very generous portion. We liked both so much we ordered them on our next trip in. I had the mahi fish tacos and they were good although I was full from the appetizers! My boyfriend really enjoyed the nachos he had while at the bar, too!
