Very expensive for the quality of food. We got burgers to go and they weren’t worth the $ 30 we spent on them. The bar staff was super friendly and looked like a neat place to hang out and drink though. Live music. But food is overpriced for what you get.

I was in Port Orchard for one day, took the ferry from Seattle & Bremerton. I arrived mid morning and was ready for breakfast. Well being off season and a weekday there was not much opened so I went into a bar for breakfast!
My breakfast was great, eggs over easy, bacon, toast and lots of coffee. The young woman that waited on me was terrific — kept the coffee coming! She was also friendly. I was knitting while I waited for my eggs and we got to talking about making socks etc. She mentioned that she had taken lessons from the local yarn store when they were located in town. I asked where they were located now and she gave me direction — about a 1.5 mile walk. She warned me that the way there would be up hill.
Can’t speak to anything other than breakfast but I enjoyed my visit. I’m retired so going into a bar for breakfast is not something I usually do and was a little nervous LOL! But if I’m in Port Orchard again I’d go back for breakfast and might try it for lunch!

Fried mushrooms are bomb. Too bomb, we could only eat half our burgers. BBCC, classic and mushroom Swiss were all amazing. Shelby our waitress was sweet, funny and fast. We will be back.

Stopped in for breakfast. It was quiet on a Saturday morning. Ordered the seafood omelet, which was yummy with baby shrimp, perfect avocado and the right amount of Swiss cheese The potatoes were awesome! I think they were fried, so how can you go wrong?! They had a great crunch. The rye toast on the side topped it off perfectly. The coffee was weak though. Good service.

It’s Friday night, and it’s steady at the restaurant but we got seated instantly. A blonde gal helped us to order drinks, they arrived promptly. We order jalapeño poppers, chicken strip basket and a South of the border burger. The jalapeño poppers were hands down awful. We were served them with two napkins. so we had to eat them off napkins, really gross. When our food came the hamburger patty itself was cold, and the bacon was soggy and cold. Yet, y chicken strips were hot. The French fries on both played were burnt and soggy. They didn’t offer more drinks or check on us until we were almost finished eating. We finally told that what was wrong and all they did was offer to remake his burger. Seriously horribly service and horrible food. The waitress was more interested in talking to her friends than helping us.

Really let down. I heard this had really good food so me and my wife were really exited… French fries completely soggy as well as the fried mushrooms. The blue burger had barely any blue cheese on it at all. kinda bummed.

If it smells like shit… it’s probably shit. This place smells, the staff is rude, and the food will give you the runs or worse. It was never good at its best. If you like flys, rats, and shitty service. Then, by all means come here. Otherwise, stay away and let this place fade away like the rest of port orchard. So much potential with the outdoor area for live music and the location. Too bad the people that work there are dicks.

Ehh, not too much in love with the night crowd. To crowded & some real D Bags come here. BUT! The burgers, are totally on point. Delicious & very juicy, yummy!

I like Moon Dogs, too. I love that they have splits of Champagne. I like their food although a little less crunch to my taco would’ve been appreciated. They have good bar food. have I had better, maybe so. BUT the service was excellent. Staff was friendly. I need to try their breakfast, but the thing I LOVE about them is the community spirit they have during the holidays. They do two community meals via a local service group to raise funds for the homeless.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I repeat. Everything else is great. I ate some food here next morning I woke up throwing up. After screaming in pain, throwing up, passing out, finally going to the hospital to get IVs found out I got a stomach virus from food. If you want to be out of work for a few days and be put in the hospital for 8 hours eat at moondogs. Everything else is great. Mary the bartender is a doll. But seriously just don’t order food.

I have been here multiple times and have seen all the phases here.
Breakfast here is surprisingly good with a decent menu and hearty fresh made fare.
The rest of their menu is good. Soups are made in house, the burgers are good and they have great daily specials. I recommend going on a Thursday for the build your own steak dinner!
Drink wise they have a decent tap list of domestic and craft beers plus bottles and a full bar. Go in late for loud live music and tipsy locals. Bouncers are good about removing anybody who has had to much to drink.

Great little pub, one of the best «chicken fried steak» breakfasts I have tasted, crisp tender steak perfect tatas with just the right amount of gravy seasoned with pepper and sausage my son ordered an omelet stuffed with ham, bacon, veggies an cheese. Definitely going back to try the hamburgers for which they are known

Changes since the owner passed seem to point to a «cheap» method of operation. After many years of patronage. Today with dinner there was 1⁄3 of their famous fries than all the years before. Now you have to pay more if you want another cup of sauce. Things like this after so long are unexpected and unwelcome changes. This was the first time I ever left moondogs hungry. Ever. Sorry guys, I love ya all, but if I want cheap corporate type thinking, I have many closers options.

Stopped in for lunch today and tried there spicy burger with chipotle mayo and jalapeños Mmmmmmmm all I can say its an explosion of flavor in your mouth.
Kid friendly also our little one had pancakes for lunch wich she loved.
Come in and check them out

My wife and I have always wanted to try the burgers at Moondogs Too because of the great reviews. Last Sunday after the Hog Fest we decided to eat there. First thing we see before walking in the door is a sign on the window: «Now Hiring Cooks Security». That’s both some and a lot of important personnel to be lacking. Wonder why they need replacement cooks (plural) and security at the same time? Literally and figuratively not a good sign.
We walk in and the only employee is the bartender who fails to acknowledge us. No waiter/​waitress in sight. The place is a bar so of course it smells of booze. Still to our left there’s a dad with his child in a booster chair sitting at a table. Other than that there was one customer sitting at the bar. We walked out.

We had burgers here on burger night and loved the food and the drinks were good too. We went on a night that was slower and had excellent service. I read some reviews about the service being an issue but we didn’t have that experience. This was our first time in. We saw that they have three huge fire pits out back thy they keep going and we liked that. We are anxious to visit again perhaps when they have a band playing. The food and drinks are so much more affordable than the new beach bar across the street. I hate to say that but they really are. This is a great find.

The homemade jalapeño poppers looked promising but really they fell flat, the bun on the burger was stale and fell apart and the fries were greasy, the wait staff were friendly and the beer selection looked good, I wouldn’t recommend this place for lunch on a Thursday

I’ve been here 4 or 5 times now so its about time I write something about them. Moon Dogs is kind of my go to place in Port Orchard. Not a lot special here but they have good burgers, sweet potato fries and cold beer. It can be a bit on the cool side if people are sitting outside in the smoking area as this door gets left open a lot. Summer is better. The wait staff is great with keeping things going. You can even bring the kids if you don’t mind they watching people drink beer.

Four stars instead of three because the burger was that good. Server was very nice but took almost an hour to get our food (place was about half full).
Sweet potato fries were super greasy and mushy, wouldn’t recommend them. My husband ordered the tater tots but they were cold and tasteless.
They had live music which was cool for a Saturday afternoon.
I would only return for one reason… the burger was amazing!
