Regal Cinemas South Sound Cinema 10

I have not been here since I was a child, but Love that they have arcade games in the waiting area.
My favorite part (forgot to tell the manager how much I appreciated it) That the SOUND while watching the children’s movie was a NICE lower then normal volume! THANK YOU for caring about my child’s hearing!
Oh yes, there are normal snack there too (candy, popcorn, hot dogs). And the bathrooms were clean!

I love going to see movies, but I’m never stoked about seeing one here anymore. This theater is in need of an update. All the surrounding cinemas: Galaxy & See Film have all gotten the latest technology in audio & video & updated the seating, but Port Orchard Regal has fallen behind. It’s okay in a pinch, but you’ll have a much better movie experience at the other two for about the same price. I would really like Regal to step up, because it is one of the only entertainment locales in Port Orchard.

The cashier gave us tickets to the wrong movie, which started an hour later than the one we ordered, so we were forced to watch ads for that hour we were in there for. The service was bad, and the manager was reluctant to give us our refund. Will not go back!!! As for the building itself, it has questionable installations and an unkept look.

this place has gotten better then it has in the past new chairs better sound and video quality. prices for snacks are terrible!!! the ticket prices have gotten very high I am not sure if they still do 5 dollar days but I hope they do last time I went no one checked my ticket and told me where to go I could of seriously not paid and just walked in no one would of known…

My boyfriend and I caught Interstellar here because I mentioned wanting to see it (we don’t go to the movies often) and their tickets are $ 5 on Tuesdays (supposedly). My review might be slightly biased because I worked at multiple theatres as a teenager, so those theatres are where I saw most of my movies and therefore they set the standard for me.
My thoughts:
1) We paid $ 12 for two tickets. Not sure where the extra two dollars came from, but our tickets each said they were $ 6 a piece so I don’t understand why we were charged extra? I had never been here before, but my boyfriend has and he was confused, as well. He suggested it was taxes but tax isn’t that much. We have not gotten to the bottom of this, not that the $ 2 extra is important, it just doesn’t make sense.
2) Their candy selection is abysmal. They have MAYBE ten kinds of candy, and they mostly subpar selections. My favorite movie theatre candy is Sour Punch straws, which I have a special attachment to because they are a) one of the best candies ever, b) free from gelatin and chocolate, c) not easy to find, especially in the best flavor which is blue raspberry (undisputable fact). I have watched many movies while high and munching on Sour Punch straws, it is my movie-​going tradition. And I cannot tell you how many times I’ve shelled out $ 3.50 for a bag of the blue ones just because I couldn’t find the damn things anywhere else and they are SO good, like addictive little explosions of sourness in your mouth and each bite is increasingly better, infinitely, until they are all gone and you cry into the empty bag, your salty tears mixing with the forlorn leftover sour candy sugar.
Anyway, I was quite thoroughly disappointed when the only Sour Punch candy this theatre carried was something called Punchies. We bought them because all the other candy choices were awful as I already mentioned. In case you have never tried Punchies, they are not that good. They aren’t bad but they are NOT sour in the slightest and the flavors taste really bizarre and the texture is not so good (kind of like a chewier version of Skittles). Having this candy to eat during the movie made me feel sad because all I could think about was how much better the movie-​going experience is with the proper candy. I wanted to inform the proper authorities that they should invest in getting the aforementioned proper candy, but of course there were no employees to be seen when the movie was over.
3) Cleanliness. First of all, our theatre definitely had not been cleaned in between shows. I know there is not a lot of time to clean up the huge mess that inconsidersate movie-​goers create, but this is just sloppy and gross to not even do a quick if somewhat unthorough sweep. There was popcorn all over the floor, trash in the cupholders, etc. Yuck. Then I visited the restroom about two thirds of the way through the movie. Only a few people leave during the movie to use the restroom, I know this because I worked at a theatre. Everyone waits until the end. The bathrooms should be cleaned after the rush… but they weren’t. It was me and one other woman in there and the bathroom was destroyed. Paper towels and toilet paper all of the floor, one of the paper towel dispensers was out, etc. Sloppy and lazy. Plenty of time to sweep the bathroom during the movies. Finally, when the movie got out, literally every single trash can was overflowing and spewing garbage onto the floor. No employees in sight were emptying trashes or sweeping. All I can say that anyone that lazy at the theatres I worked at would have been fired, probably that night!
In summary… not someplace I would be excited to watch a movie at again.

Somewhat cheaper prices for movies. The only great thing about this theater is their $ 5 Tuesday movie specials. The theater itself is pretty old and isn’t very clean. They have a huge parking lot and accept military discounts but the old, stale smell sucks. Definitely a good theater to watch newly released movies and conveniently available if you don’t want to go to the Bremerton, Silverdale, or Gig Harbor theaters.

It used to be better.
I used to love going here, but now its a joke.
$ 10.75 for a ticket, an arm for soda, a leg for popcorn, and your first born for some candy.
Speakers are blown out in half the theaters.
The staff is much better now than they used to be. Everyone is polite, but I cant get over the six month price hikes. The new paint job that covered the old really cool one is a downer.
I would much rather go to Galaxy in gig harbor any day!

I would never choose to come here but we didn’t want to make the drive to Seefilm or Galaxy theater and since my husband and I live up the street we thought to give it another try.
I could careless about the concession stands or whatever special thing the theater has I’m there to see the damn movie and as long as the quality of the picture is good then I’m happy! But my complaint isn’t about the quality of the picture but how it isn’t fitted to the screen properly. I swear they NEED to have a professional calibrate their projectors because it’s zoomed in and faces are cropped! This is the 2^nd time and both times are the same, zoomed and cropped!
My second complaint is that it isn’t dark enough in there. The exit sign is next to the screen facing the audience and its bright green, it can be very distracting! I mean I know how important that sign is but COME ON, really, you might as well be pointing a damn flashlight at my face!
PLEASE DO SOMETHING! cause I would really like to come here more often because it’s so close to me!

We live right near by so we frequent this place. I love the $ 5 movies on Tuesdays. Seems to be the only way ANYONE can afford to see a movie now a days. If you use your Regal card they give you a free small popcorn on Tuesdays which you can upgrade to a large for $ 4.
The theater is old and pretty icky, but hey its close by and cheap on Tuesdays. I can’t complain.

Talk about an old school experience. This movie theater is a throwback in some sense. The auditorium I was in had the aisle down the middle and had seats on each side. Kinda makes it hard to sit center screen as in other theaters.
For what it is, it is probably a fine place to see a movie in the area.

I would actually give it more of a 3 ½ stars. It is the only major theater in Port Orchard (also very close to where I live). They have the blockbuster movies, and many Academy Award nominee films. I have been going for years. It is a pretty «run of the mill theater.» My complaints are that the seats I find stiff since they do not lean back (I guess that is to give more leg room), the bathroom (men’s room) needs some sink repairs (there are holes in the sink), and movie ticket prices in general are so expensive now. I do give this theater credit for Tuesday price specials (that gets me coming back. Well, that and I get Tuesdays off of work). I have had problems in the past with older movies stuck on the end screens which have the smaller screens, and once had a sound problem where the movie sounded like it was being played threw a tin can (I complained but nothing was done). I also get annoyed with all the «add ons» they ask when you purchase your movie ticket. Yes, it is the only major theater in Port Orchard (and we need it) so please come.

I’ve been here several times and have always had a good experience. Friendly service and clean theaters.

This place gets a lot of hate from people. But people seem to forget that this place is old, its been around the block a few times, which I think is misinterpreted for being out of date, when in all honesty it brings us back to the way of life in a different generation. A generation that did not care about how a place looked as much as they cared about the people they were with and excited about the moment they would not forget. I have to say, I have seen a lot of movies here, I mean a lot, probably over 50. I can honestly say because I and whoever I was with had a good frame of mind going in and I have seen 48 amazing movies (with the exception of truly horrid movies which I will not name because they do not deserve the attention). It was not because the movies were always oscar or golden globe award winning caliber movies (some where) but it was because I charished the moment with the special people in my life, making that movie so much better. So I thank Regal South Cinema 10 for giving me the oppurtunity to have so many great and unforgettable memories, this will always be my favorite movie theater.

Run of the mill movie theater. .. nothing exception or noteworthy here. .. catch a first class first run flick — GO Someplace Else (ie Galaxy Theaters). .. catch a movie that will be on DvD in two months on a matinée budget absolutely.
The staff is inconsistent — some are just good people doing their best — mostly unmotivated employees. .. somedays the popcorn and beverage service is good — mostly slow to mediocre, think of a Taco Bell drive though. .. what more do you expect.
Over the last 5 times only once did the movie projection /​sound system work well enough not to notice. .. perhaps they are cutting a few bucks and not keeping up with the quality of the equipment. I have also shown up just prior to a last show to have it cancelled also more than once. .. I think back to the late 70’s /​early 80’s cut rate theaters and this is what it feels like to me [ at least those had midnight movies ].
Two positives ironically worth mentioning: generally it is always clean, a big plus considering they get slammed by teenie boopers from the local schools. .. seats are not lavish nor positioned that great but they also are not without some comfort

I hate this place BUT here’s the kicker. I go to this theater ALL the time. Why? It’s because the place is nearby and convenient. I’d rather go to Galaxy Theaters in Gig Harbor but that’s a 20−30min drive depending on traffic. The ones in Silverdale are decent too in comparison.
Is it the high priced foodz? No, I think expensive concessions is to be expected at theaters. Is it the employees there? No, it varies actually. Some are really nice and polite and some well, are not. So why the two stars?
Wait for it… the movie going experience. To clarify, I’m not referring to the quality of the movie but rather the environment that I’m in when I’m watching. One of the speakers in one of the rooms is blown. Whenever a cool explosion or matrixy bass hits, I hear a rattling which totally ruins my experience. Another time the room temperature was set to subzero degrees and also another event the movie screen was BLURRY. In another room, there is this ANNOYING shadow on the bottom of the screen that wiggles. I have no idea what that is… or do I want to know?
I waited for OTHER people to go and complain about it but all I see is them pointing and chuckling about it. So usually I get up and let the staff know. Sometimes they fix it (Blurry screen, cold room) and sometimes they don’t (blown speaker).
So since my laziness is greater than my love for movies, you can usually find me and my wife here. To be fair, there are times when the movie going experience is good. It depends on the room and person manning the projector me thinks.

The theater is clean and the people here are nice. The ticket prices are generally pretty reasonable and their concession stand is no more overpriced than anywhere else you’ll find. 2 drinks and a popcorn is about $ 17.
The seats are kind of low and not as staggered as other theaters, but that’s not a problem. The theater is almost never full which is nice. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered line here so it makes movie going on a whim possible.
For a theater in Port Orchard, I’d definitely suggest giving this place a try.

Though we live in Bremerton, so we’re basically in between this theater and the others in Silverdale, we normally head south to this one. Here are our reasons:
1) Their military ticket price is over a dollar less than the Silverdale theaters.
2) They have loveseat-​style chairs in their auditoriums.
3) Their concession stand sells Icees.
The theater is always clean and the movies are rarely scratched. The sound is decent and the other patrons aren’t scary — sometimes the packs of teens get kind of irritating, but meh. It’s a movie theater.
Also, there’s an A&W down the road a bit. Can you say ‘post-​movie root beer floats’? Mmmmhmm. I thought you could. :D
