It just keeps getting better and better at Maxwell’s. It started out as a disappointing visit since they were OUT OF OYSTERS and that’s the entire reason we went. However, we decided to have clams on the half shell instead of oysters, and we were NOT disappointed. They were the best I have ever had. (I didn’t even think I really liked raw clams, but it turns out that I love fresh, great quality clams almost as much as oysters! We had a couple dozen clams, then some wonderful steamed shrimp with a sprinkle of Old Bay.
We took home some clams and mussels and for dinner we created a wonderful pasta with it!
Oh, the bad thing about this place is that it’s too far from home :(
Seriously — if we lived closer, we would be there every weekend.

I can’t believe I’m the first one to write a review about this place.
This is an awesome place to come and buy fresh shellfish and other seafood to bring home. The people who run this business are super helpful and offered up suggestions in the area for us to go and visit.
The clams, oysters, and crabs are harvested by the family who own and operate this business. Truly local. Next time we’re back in the area, we’ll be sure to visit again.
