Extremely overpriced compared to other locations. No participation in the rewards program nor do they accept gift cards. Limited menu. My meal was average at best.

Definitely not the worlds«Greatest» sandwich, but it hit the spot. Out of all the choices at the plaza this looked the healthiest.

We stopped by this place on our trip back from Miami to Georgia. It was so incredibly crowded, but the line for Earl of Sandwich wasn’t too long. Unfortunately, the line moved extremely slowly. Waiting in line, I could see the girl who was making the sandwiches… she was so slow. She had no sense of urgency at all and didn’t seem to care that the customers were waiting 20 minutes to get one sandwich order. I have been to Earl of Sandwich before in Orlando, and my experience there was much better. I had the same expectations for this one, and was highly disappointed. The sandwich was good, but if I ever stop at this rest area again, I’m not going to Earl of Sandwich.

I hate writing a negative review because I really enjoy Earls’ sandwiches but my experience or lack thereof was truly disappointing. I was excited to have lunch and feast on The Original 1762 on my way back from Stuart yesterday that my mouth was watering. When I arrived, the line was long and I waited approximately 15 minutes to get to the front. As I was about to place my order, I was informed that their system had crashed and they were unable to take any orders. I understand technology has its problems so I offered to pay cash and even pay extra for a sandwich. The sandwich I wanted was 7.49 so I offered to give the woman $ 10.00 and she could ring it up later, after their system recovered. She refused and said they were not allowed to do it. While this was going on, the line behind me continued to grow and they turned away at least 30 customers. I really thought they would improvise, take out a calculator, manually open the register and take orders the old fashioned way but I was wrong. They chose to turn customers away and lose a lot of money. I asked how long it would take for the system to reboot and they dismissed my question by saying«we have no clue». That’s not a professional answer that should be given to customers who have been waiting in line. This is not surprising considering this particular rest area is a circus in terms of crowds and chaotic environment. I will have to get my fix at the Downtown Disney location from now on.

Earl of Sandwich is located on the Turnpike’s Rest Stop between Ft Pierce and Port St Lucie. In this rest stop there’s a Wendy’s, Dunkin Donuts, a pizza place as well. This was probably the best place there. We ordered a cobb salad(already made) and a Ham and Swiss sandwich. The order was taken quickly and made quickly, I can’t complain, it meets my expectations for a rest stop restaurant.

The earl knows his sandwiches! This place is the best food on the pike at a fair price and the staff is pretty good at moving through long lines quickly. This service plaza is a nightmare and is always crowded and dirty the next service plaza has an earl too if you’re not starving.

The slowest most unprofessional fast food place I have ever been to… I love the Earl Of Sandwich at Downtown Disney and always had a positive experience. The line here was sparse and we thought we could get in and out of the Service Area quickly. With less than 3 people in line — and as my husband pointed out — 4 people behind the counter. WRONG! From getting in line and ordering ONESANDWICH(as is off the menu no special requests) it took 23 minutes. The sandwich was every good though…

Not a bad place to get yourself a nice gourmet sandwich. In this particular location, the bread wasn’t as soft as I would’ve preferred but the taste was fine. Of course, this was on a rest stop so I didn’t expect the best to begin with.

I’ve always appreciated this little gem in the rest areas as well as the original one in Downtown Disney. It’s got nice hot sandwiches that are pretty original to their franchise, in my opinion. I always get a nice hot cup of the tomato bisque to accompany my sandwich selection — nothing better.

My family loves the Earl of Sandwich location at Downtown Disney, so when we were driving home from South Florida and saw a sign for an Earl of Sandwich at a rest stop, we had to stop. I should have known that something served at a rest stop couldn’t compare to something at Disney. The menu was limited, there was only one soup and fewer sandwiches than we are used to. The atmosphere is, well, a rest stop. For the most part the food was what we expected, but I ordered the Italian sandwich and I thought the dressing on it was a bit too strong. Overall, underwhelming. I won’t go again, we’ll hold out for the good one at Disney.

Great sandwiches(for Turnpike food). I had the roast beef original, my wife had the BBQ chicken, and we agreed we would both eat here again. The ciabatta bread was nice and toasty, and all of the ingredients had a lot of great flavor. The service was a little slow(mostly since they have to wait for the sandwiches to grill), and seven bucks felt a little pricey per sandwich. Better food and better value than Quizno’s or Subway. As the crow flies, we live five minutes from Earl’s, but since it’s on the turnpike, it involves going up to Fort Pierce, getting on the road, driving all the way back down to Port Saint Lucie, and paying a toll. Not a knock on Earl’s, but maybe a suggestion for future opportunity to open more locations?

I’m a big fan of Earl’s, and the food here is certainly up to snuff. This location suffers from just that, the location. It’s at a rest stop which is part of a divided highway with easy highway off and on access — which is good and bad. The place was slammed, filled with middle school tours and the like. The lined moved quickly, the pickup area was disorganized. The workers certainly were not friendly, guess that’s a lot to ask at a rest stop. 3 stars.

nothing special about their sanwhiches. Service is super slow. The guy making the sanwhiches had absolutely no rush to get anything done. Long line of people waiting for their food.

I had The Earl’s Club Sandwich. The food was amazing! The service was good but too slow for a quick stop. The line moved along quickly but the food took a bit long to come out. My overall experience was great, and I would definitely come back.

Other than stopping at the service plaza to stretch our legs and take a bathroom break, we grabbed some lunch while we were there. The line is long! Luckily, I didn’t have to wait in it and my husband did. It was worth it though. Our sandwiches were good. You can’t go wrong with a chicken bacon bbq cheese sandwich.

Pretty good sandwiches. Definately a step above subway. My personal favorite is the 1762(roast beef with horseradish). All together a good stop and better than subway. Friendly service and pleasantly surprised for a fast food place. This was my first time here and will go back.

I am sure the problems we encountered with this place was because it was a turnpike joint. The concept of Earl is good, nice hot sammies, cold sammies. Fine, I would rather have a Roast Beef sammie before pizza any day. So service? OK, but not good by any means, then the sandwiches took forever to come out, they were serving people who had ordered after us(hot sandwiches too, so it wasn’t the reason), and they were poor in ingredients. Very poor. Scarce meat, I asked for no cheese, it had cheese and I couldn’t taste the horseradish. Small poor sandwiches for the price of a full meal. Meh, next time I stop by the burger joint.

Back in November I was driving to Orlando and was a bit hungry so I stopped at this travel plaza while on the turnpike. They had the usual: a burger place, a pizza place, etc. Then I happened to see The Earl of Sandwich. It looked a bit different than a normal sub shop so I stopped. OMG am I glad I did! Earlier today I was driving back from another trip and happened to remember this place. I looked at the clock and it was nearly dinner time. A few moments later I saw a sign saying that Ft. Pierce was only 17 miles away and my mouth began to water. This place offers pre-made salads and some cold wraps, brownies and other fare. What sets this establishment apart, however, are their hot sandwiches. They have 6 of their signature hot sandwiches on the menu at this location. Both times I’ve been here I got The Original 1762 which consists of juicy hand-carved roast beef(not the processed stuff you get at Arby’s or Subway), a few slices of cheddar cheese and creamy horseradish. It’s served on what they call an «artisan baked loaf», which is basically a soft flat bread. They prepare the sandwich on the fresh bread, then it passes down a conveyor toaster oven. When it comes out the other side the meat is releasing its juices, the bread is perfectly toasted and if you add just a touch of mustard, this sandwich is heaven. The beef is very tasty and with the horseradish, cheese and a touch of mustard, it’s the perfect combination of salty, sweet and awesome texture. At $ 6 and change, it’s well worth it. Believe me, this is not typical roadside truck stop fare. This sandwich has my mouth watering even now as I sit here 7 hours later writing this review! According to the website this chain is operated by the current 11th Earl of Sandwich and the Sandwich family. I’m not sure if that’s true, but regardless, I’m a fan!
