This is probably my most favorites Cuban restaurant in the area. Love their sangria and skirt steak. It’s a little mom and pop place in a strip mall, but the food is authentic and the service is friendly.

Very good food, great service, and reasonably priced. The plantains were awesome and the pork was well seasoned. The hot sauce at this restaurant is one of the best you will try!

Ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches, an order of ham croquettes and fries for the children. First the Cubans were dry and small, the bread was chewy and sliced pork seemed dry. I have had many Cuban sandwiches and they are usually full of flavor. El Cubanito… not so much.

Really good Cuban food. Priced great. Big portion of food. Love to order the pork, rice and beans. Coffee is real good. Attentive service. They have Sangria, really good. Must try.

I come here 2 or 3 times very time I come to PSL. I have been here 7 times and the service is very friendly, efficient, and fast with many pretty ladies that will keep your attention until the exceptional food arrives and your mouth and stomach will be in heaven. Everything is excellent in my opinion.

I had really high hopes for this restaurant. On a recent visit to FL to visit my dad, I decided, «How can you go to FL and NOT get a Cuban sandwich?» I have vacationed in Miami and Tampa and been blown-away by the flavor and composition of such a basic sandwich. For me though, and the rest of my party, this Cuban Sandwich was disappointing. Food: All of us ordered a Cuban sandwich. The bread was excellent, and easily the best part of the sandwich. Soft, buttery, and had great flavor. The pork, by itself, also had really pleasant flavor. The mojo was a great marinade for the pork, and it came out with a very well-balanced flavor. Unfortunately, that is where compliments about the sandwich end. The pork was also dry. Seemed like maybe it was not freshly made that day and was leftover from previous day/s. I have a thing about hot sandwiches with cheese that is only partially melted. This is a fundamental sandwich composition error that, in my opinion, is a cardinal-sin of hot sandwiches. If you can not melt the cheese properly in the sandwich, you are not doing the sandwich right. The ‘sauce’(which is usually just mustard, but I have seen some more unique interpretations), was non-existent. I even opened the bun to look. Nope … no mustard. ??? Lastly, the ham just didn’t bring anything to the party. I have had Cubans in the past where each and every component contributes to the overall flavor of the sandwich. This one? Not so much. The flavor seemed fragmented and dull — despite a good pork. Very atypical for a Cuban sandwich. Despite all of this, they have homemade hot sauce(thin pepper relish) that is amazing! It is nothing fancy; but it had great flavor and the perfect spiciness. Make sure you get a bunch of this because it is the only thing that gave the sandwich a flavor boost and some moistness. Food: 2⁄5 Service: The service was pleasant and efficient, but lacked the hospitality that I am used to in similar restaurants that I have frequented all across the country. There was a Cuban sandwich shop in Chicago(one of the least friendly places on Earth), where when I got to the front of the massive line to order, the people were energetic, happy, and even carried on a conversation with me. I have had similar experiences at other Cuban restaurants. This one disappointed despite not doing anything grievous. Service: 2⁄5 Atmosphere: Nice atmosphere though. Clean, warm, and inviting — even if the service wasn’t. The overall décor transported me from Port St. Lucie to somewhere else. This is a sure-mark of a solid atmosphere. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Price: If I remember correctly, the sandwich was 6.95. Normally this would be a fine price — 4 star worthy; but because there were so many issues with the sandwich, the value is significantly diminished. Price: 3⁄5 Final Thoughts: After seeing so many positive reviews, I thought that this was going to be a sure winner. I was mistaken. Not only was it underwhelming on multiple fronts, but I dragged the whole family here with confidence only to be let down by the overall experience. Although the sandwich was OK, this was the worst Cuban sandwich I have ever had. Though, I have had some excellent ones in the past. I suppose this had to happen eventually…

First time here and overall it wasn’t bad. Ordered the Ropa Vieja which was pretty good. Also, ordered the Picadillo, which I personally didn’t like but my grandma enjoyed it. For me it had no flavor. You could taste the meat. That’s not Cuban cooking! Not for nothing but mine is alot better. Didn’t care too much for the red beans either. They could have had more flavor. We also got the Cuban Sandwich which my grandfather seemed to like. He complained alitte about the bread being hard but he’s 83, so el probe but he ate the whole thing! I’m sure when I come up here to visit we’ll more than likely order from here again.

While down south for the holidays, we ordered take out from El Cubanito on my girlfriends recommendation to try Cuban food. I ordered the Ropa Vieja. We did not check the order before we left the restaurant, they had wrapped and knotted the bags. When we arrived home all of the other food was complete, but my order was missing the meat and sauce. The plate was a lonely styrofoam full of white rice and 3 plantains. We tried to call the restaurant back 2 times, and they did not pick up the phone. The place had been pretty dead when we were there just 15 minutes before, it seemed as though they were avoiding the call knowing they had missed something. Very unprofessional service. My advice would be to check your food.

Probably the best Cuban I’ve had in Florida north of Miami. We got a regular mojito and a mango mojito, 2 lunch specials and a cortadito. The total came to just over $ 31. Ridiculous. The mojitos alone would have cost $ 31 in Jersey. We split the Lechon asado and the Ropa vieja. Both were very good. Loved the beans and the sweet plantains. The yellow rice was the only thing that didn’t do it for me, but their homemade hot sauce spiced things up a bit. Both the pork and the beef were nice and tender and fell right apart. The cortadito had just the right amount of sweetness. Great service. Respectable portion sizes and very reasonable prices.

Fantastic Cuban! The service was excellent and fast, very attentive, the food was hot and delicious, homemade hot sauce was perfect with the large excellent spread of food. Try the sampler, a little of everything! The cuban coffee was excellent! Traveled miles for this and it was woth it!

Roast pork. Exceptional in a way that is rarely found. I eat at restaurants around the country and I can count on one hand the number of people that can cook pork this well. Get the slow roasted pork with onions.

Food was delicious! Black bean and chicken soup were good. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken and rice dinner for two that came with a side of plantains. Very generous portions.

The service and did were both excellent. We couldn’t decide on a dish, so we got the 3-meat sampler, which came with chicken, roasted pork, and steak. The chicken was not a standout, but the other two are great. They were perfectly seasoned, and next time I’ll get a full serving of the pork. Buy a bottle of the homemade hot sauce; it’s delicious.

Born and Raised in Miami. It’s places like this that make Port Saint Lucie livable and remind me of home. I’ve been here quite a few times and they never dissapoint. For lunch, the Cuban sandwich is pretty good. For Dinner, I enjoy the bistec milanesa with arroz moro and fried plantains. My wife usually gets the vaca frita with rice and beans. To top it all of, we usually have a small flan for dessert. I would highly recommend they consider opening a small cafeteria where you can buy pastelitos, Cuban Coffee and some quick items you can grab without having to wait… Wishful thinking.

Little place in a strip mall with great Cuban sandwiches! cute indoor deco, very friendly waitress and host, quick service. We got a mixed salad, Cuban sandwich(deeeeelicous and came with fried plantain), and a chicken sandwich which came with little potato sticks. All great, and very low price.

We decided to try this place based on the excellent reviews. I am afraid we had a very different experience. Our bill totaled $ 29. plus a $ 5 tip for 2 Cuban sandwiches, 2 iced teas and an order of plantain chips. There was hardly anything on our sandwiches but mustard, the ham was just deli meat and wasn’t grilled and the pork was thin shredded so little was on the sandwiches that we opened them in an effort to taste it. The service was mediocre as we were not checked on after our food was served until it was time for the check. Sorry but we will not be returning.

I went to El Cubanito for my birthday with a group of six people. Their food was fantastic. I tried the beef empanadas and had steak for my main course. The fried plantains with garlic dipping sauce were delicious. So was the bread that they brought out beforehand. Fantastic food and pretty good service. The rest of my group all asked for their sauces on the side but it came on their steak and shrimp. Not a big deal. Great margaritas and mojitos. My sangria was good, but the fruit in it was canned fruit cocktail… Great fresh tostones.

So good! I had a Cuban sandwich and the hubby had a chicken sandwich with added pork. Hubby commented that it was the best sandwich he had ever had. Our total including one drink, one order of fries, and our two sandwiches came to $ 22 before tip.
