Dr Greg A Hare

Our eye guy retired, so my wife and I went to Dr Hare for his and her eye exams. Dr Hare was recommended to me by an ophthalmologist as the best in or near Port Townsend. We both got very thorough exams and Dr. Hare is an excellent communicator and spend a good amount of time resolving my wife’s issue with eye dryness. The Dr and his charming wife run the office. It’s friendly and welcoming.

I am trending toward only writing Unilocal reviews when I am scathingly mad or disappointed, but today I literally WALKED OUT of the appointment that I was in the middle of because this doctor was so rude.
I have very specific eye issues including allergies to certain materials in contacts, and opposing astigmatisms.
He wouldn’t even listen to me, and essentially called me a liar and said that my issues weren’t allergic reactions, but fit problems. I know that this is untrue because I was TESTED for the material allergy in a hospital, but he was too pig headed to even listen to me and kept ranting about how it was never proven to be true. WRONG. 5% of contact users are allergic to the silicone base in them.
I will NEVER go back, and unless you want to deal with a doctor that has an attitude problem, a bad case of halitosis, and an obnoxious manner in general… Stay away.

I found Dr. Hare and his staff to be friendly, kind and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Hare for your eye exam. They also have a selection of frames in the office for glasses and sunglasses.
