Stopped in for the first time yesterday(8⁄26). I don’t know the women’s name who was managing the front of the store but she was the model for how a business can beneift from sincere and attentive customer service. She really knew her cheeses, was passionate about what they sold, encouraged us to try samples and was just very friendly and welcoming. Give her a raise(or at least free cheese for life). She will more than make up for it in sales. I just don’t see this level of customer service often enough. No, I don’t her nor am I related! It got even better though as it was also complemented by the store and the products they sold, both cheese and accompaniments. A winner on all counts.

Cheese is tasty. I had never tried Mt Townsend before, despite it being available at Pike Place and other locations in Seattle. On a recent trip to Pt Townsend though, I made sure to stop in. We ended up only ordering some of their Fromage Blanc, a delicious spreadable cheese, which I used for Crostinis. I tried samples of a lot of their other cheeses, and they were quite tasty. I did have a lot of problems with the lay out though. We thought we were in line to check out, and then all of a sudden, we weren’t, and like 4 people cut in front of us. It really bothered us. It took WAY too long to check out. It was apparently their«Happy Hour», so prices were discounted(our cheese was $ 1 off), but it still should not have taken as long as it did. The place is small, and be prepared to wait. But all in all, the cheese is delicious, and definitely worth a taste.

Oh my gosh this cheese is excellent!!! I think the prices are reasonable for such a wonderful product. I sampled their cheeses at the Farmer’s Market and I now see they have a store also, which will give you a tour of the cheese making process. After sampling, I purchased«Camp Fire», which is a jack cheddar that has been smoked. They use Crimson Cove Smokehouse to smoke their cheese. The smokehouse smokes salmon and the cheese is smoked from the residual smoke. Very cool. The smokey taste is strong, but not overpowering. Really delicious. The second cheese I purchases after sampling was«Truffle Fromage Blanc». This is a spreadable cheese, sort of like cream cheese but more hearty and not as smooth. I’ve been enjoying this on toast, bagels, and crackers. YUM!

Great cheese! We especially loved the campfire and truffle frommage blanc. This is a good place to pick up some picnic or cheese platter supplies. And a very friendly staff with helpful suggestions!

I can’t say I love all of their cheeses, but I adore the truffled fromage blanc – put it in a pita or on bread, add it to salad or pasta, and sometimes I just eat it out of the container. Makes a bad day better.

The selection here is pretty good. The Truffle-cheese is officially now one of my favorites. They did have a viewing window so you can watch the cheese makers @ work. This place is fun to visit if your in the area and love cheese. It is small though– and not a whole lot going on. The Cheesemonger shop is Leavenworth has a much wider selection.

Reasonably priced, good customer service, and yummy cheese, as well. With the good customer service comes generous samples, as well. Plus, you can also check out the inner workings of the cheese shop as well. By reasonably priced, I’m talking $ 6 and up for a wheel-not bad at all. Plus, the $ 6 Cirus is tasty-their version of a brie. I also bought a Seastack for $ 10, which was also yummy, but I liked the Cirus better. Also, if you want to pick up any wine, crackers, bread, or salumi, you can grab all of that here too. One note: their parking spaces are limited and pointed in a different direction so take care when you exit off the main road.

An AMAZING place. Great cheeses and great service. When you walk in, they give you a little tour of how everything works and finish off with samples! Everything was really tasty — even the washed rind cheeses that usually taste more.ripe. There’s water to sip between tastes and there are plenty of cheeses to try. It’s about $ 6& up for a round, which is pretty reasonable for fancy cheeses. They try really hard to be local, like salami from Salumi in Seattle and even some chocolates one of their staffers make! Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

This is a cute little shop where they make their cheeses on site. The guy working there was nice enough to give us the mini tour(«the cheese chat» as he called it). We saw employees painting wheels of cheese with wax and saw the cheese-making room. Unfortunately no cheese-making was going on while we were there, but we got samples! The Seastack was indeed quite good, but I bought a chunk of the Trailhead, kind of like a cheddary type cheese. They also sell cheeses from other creameries, but not many. I just wish they would go raw! All their cheeses are made from pasteurized cow’s milk.

I have not been here, I have only had the cheese. And it is good. Oh yes. Pricey, though.

It is unbelievable that only one other Unilocaler has reviewed this little shop of delights. It isn’t surprising that one other Unilocaler is Michelle. I will have to second Michelle’s 5-star review here. I don’t know that cheese novices would be willing to eat Seastack cheese the way it was meant to be eaten — moldy rind and all — but cheese-o-philes would definitely be impressed. Definitely worth the daytrip to Port Townsend, Wash. if you are seriously into cheese. Yes, you could probably get Seastack cheese through Whole Foods, but then you wouldn’t get to chat with the nice cheese-o-phile that works at this shop.

If Oprah was as big of a fan of cheese as she is of fried chicken* she would definitely get the Seastack cheese from Mt. Townsend Creamery flown to her in Chicago. This is it. This is the perfect cheese. It’s mild enough that you can serve it to cheese novices and not overwhelm them and it’s complex enough that you can serve it to cheese-ophiles and piqué their interest into asking you where you found it, and how they can get it, and do you mind if they take the last piece. It’s sold at most of the usual suspects like Whole Foods and Delaurenti, but you can get a couple bucks off and a free sample if you pick it up at the Ballard Sunday Market. I think I’ll just have it fedexed to me every Tuesday. *Rumor has it that Oprah craves the fried chicken from Ezell’s so much that she has it flown out to her in Chicago.
