The french dip was in between flavorless and plain bad. Service was hit and miss. There was good bottled beer.

I’ve been coming here since 1972(crazy Eric’s). Food is always so, so. That hasn’t changed. Been there a few times recently for convenience sake and it has taken a step back. It’s more expensive and the wait staff is less friendly. The clam chowder is ok, but not worth the trip. You’re better off heading to either the wood fired pizza place or the cottage. Or, Micky D’s. The bathroom is dirty. Nice view though.

Great diner food with an amazing view of the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, Whidbey Island, and the Port Townsend ferry. I had breakfast for the second time here. Solid food, good portions, great service, just what you are looking for in a small town diner. Our waitress knew 90% of the locals’ names when they came in. She is a rock star!

Great spot for all american and local cuisine. We stopped in last night had an excellent meal with good service and affordable prices with a beautiful view of the Bay. Breakfast this morning promises the same.

Came here for lunch while visiting Port Townsend. The clam chowder was SOGOOD! I wish I had just gotten a big bowl of it! The food was good. Nothing super special. The fish on the fish in chips was dripping with grease, and yes, I know it’s fried… But I have had fried fish where it wasn’t greasy inside when I cut it. Also the fried outside wasn’t very crispy, sort of soggy. The view is awesome, you can watch the ferry come and go.

Nice family-owned and operated establishment. Very accommodating and sensitive to my wife’s food allergy. Food was great, large portions, cold beer, great view. Very friendly and comfortable.

The Bayview. Yes it has a great view. Was a great place years ago, too. Brought my SO here for lunch. Much changed since I’d been here before. The service was good, but the food wasn’t. Halibut straight from the freezer to deep fryer was a disappointment. But although the fish was edible the Monticristo my SO had was absolutely the worst. And when told about it, the nice kid said sorry about that, and brought us the check, Monticristo included. Now if you’re in the kitchen, and your turkey has gone bad, tell the service folks some menu items are NOT available. Don’t serve it up and hope for the best. As is, this place should be avoided.

The Bayview did not disappoint. Great views of the water.(bay… Not familiar with local geography) and excellent service. The food was good, especially the clam chowder and the fresh pie with ice cream. Pleasant atmosphere; wasn’t too crowded or noisy. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We’ll stop by again if we’re in town!

This is a great place to go for a beautiful view. The food was okay, it reminded me of diner food. I had the triple decker ruben which was a decent sandwich. My boyfriend had the soup and french dip he said he liked it but when I asked him what he had a few days later he couldn’t remember. The service was good, attentive but not obnoxiously so.

My cousin & her family live in Port Townsend. So we usually end up eating here for Sunday family breakfast or lunch. This is one of the few restaurants in PT that can easily accommodate our large party(usually 8 – 10 people) and there is never a wait. The sheer convenience of that is enough for us to come here whenever we are visiting from Seattle. Let me just say that the service and the view make it worth a trip alone. You have a fantastic view of the ferry dock and it is right along the beach. Also, the service is always welcoming and kind. Your coffee & water will always be full. They have also never gotten our orders wrong, which is great considering we always have such a large party. Now onto the food– this is your traditional diner. Plenty of good omelette choices. My husband’s favorite is the chicken fried steak. They stop serving breakfast at 12pm. Lunch time is full of your standard burgers, sandwiches, and salads. My favorite for lunch has to be the fish & chips or a burger(with a side of crispy onion rings!). The clam chowder is also a very good starter. This restaurant is very kid– friendly. They have a basket full of books in the front of the restaurant to keep the kids occupied before their food comes.

Great food right by the ferry. Beautiful views of the bay, watched a herring fish while we ate. I tried the bay shrimp, chowder, Cole slaw, and it was great!

I had breakfast here the morning of June 9. Ordered the hangtown fry omelet. Hangtown fry is usually an open face omelet or frittata, but the menu was clear that this was an omelet, so that’s fine. Coffee was adequate. The omelet was really quite tasty, with several oysters, lots of bacon and onion, and generous hashbrowns and toast; the egg of the omelet, though, was shockingly tough. Service was competent and friendly. The view is truly beautiful, and definitely bump this review up to four stars. This was a surprisingly nice way to start what essentially turned out to be a perfect day!

Had breakfast here, omelette. Not very good and coffee was not drinkable either. Outstanding view of Glen Cove and the entrance to the Puget Sound. Very nice waitress. Wish I could say something better about the food. :(

The Bayview is one of our favorite places to eat. The service gets 5 stars. The coffee gets«6» stars. The food, 5 stars… because it is a casual restaurant, with casual fare, and it exceeds the expectations of casual dining. Their Clam Chowder is as good as one can get. The Burgers are top notch, with local Oregon beef, NOT something«shipped from afar» as one reviewer wrote. The Salmon is fresh, local and deliciously prepared. There is no view like this in Port Townsend, water, occasional wild life walking along the shore. You can even ask your wait person for a bird identification sheet, to name all the various water fowl. Offers Wi-Fi, has a full bar, and takes reservations.

The view from here was pretty great! Had the fish with the hollandaise sauce and Oregon shrimp and clam chowder ~ all were very good! Hubby had fish and chips which he said was pretty good as well. The salads are gigantic! Wish we woulda had room to try some pie!

If you like MSG and tasteless food then this is your kind of place! I ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the salmon sandwich, both fell way short on flavor. The fries were ok.

To claim to be a family restaurant and then not offer a children’s breakfast menu of any sort seems plain ludicrous. Was hard to enjoy the average tasting food when we had to deal with coming up w/a solution to feed our little ones? Pay for a full priced adult breakfast, have them split one, not really an option considering they of course, wanted different things. No crayons either. I’m pretty sure«family» is on the sign, VERY mis-leading.

Bummed the monte crisco didn’t have powdered sugar nor jelly and was merely sandwiched by French toast. The fries were typical steak fries — nothing special. Ocean view is clouded by tinted windows. :( Tried my first plate of fried clams as an appetizer… wouldn’t recommend.

The chowder is quite good(better than most by far). The cod w mushroom sauce was heaven !!! The prime rib flavorful and tender and the veggies were cooked to perfection. Our waiter, Sean, was professional, attentive and very knowledgeable. The view of the water and ferry could not be better. We had a sample of the local brew Port Townsend Brewing Co. Scotch ale and were very impressed. Over all, it was a wonderful meal and experience.

I love this restaurant! The staff was nice & very helpful. My boyfriend & I came in on a Saturday evening & we got to sit right by a window with the most AMAZING ocean view! The food was oh my goodness so good. I ordered the fish & chips. This was the 3rd restaurant I tried that entrée over the weekend. Not only was it the best it was the cheapest too out of all 3 places. This is a perfect place for a date, yet casual enough just to go grab a bit to eat with your girlfriends. My parents has a house about 40mins south. I told them about this place & they had to try it. They agreed on how wonderful this place is!
