4 stars because the sandwiches are amazing, especially the Bourbon Street, which is what I usually get. The sauce is so good! The chicken is grilled nicely and the cheese is melted, which seems like a lost art these days. –1 star because of the wait and the fact that when I place an order, they keep me on hold for 5 – 10 minutes. Not cool. Expensive too. 10 dollar mininum.

I don’t remember the last time I was in Bayview Deli or any deli to buy a sandwich in the last several years… I ordered my usual Virginia ham and Swiss on Rye w/mustard. A moment later the counterman returns we don’t have the Ham I say this is a Deli right? no response! Ok I will have regular Ham… by the way I was not disappointed with the sandwich.

Bayview is by far the best deli in Port Washington for one reason only… Cajon Mayo they can be quite slow at times and I’ve had SOME sandwiches with barely any meat on it. If I’m paying $ 10 for a hero, I’d expect more.

im just curious why is the customer service can be so bad here… there are some very kind men very nice… but there are 1 or 2 rotten eggs that act like I ran over their dog. I don’t get it. the food is great. but excuse me sir, I didn’t order a side of misdirected angst with my chicken fantastic!

The absolutely most unfriendly and couldn’t-Care-Less employee and owner attitudes ever seen in a business. I will never, ever set foot in there again.

Great deli in Port. Love the sandwiches. Cold cuts are always very fresh and portions are generous. Service is also good And the prices are fair.

WORSTDELIINNASSAUCOUNTY. I wish I could give this place 0 stars, but even that might be too generous. Do not go here, save your money, do just about anything that isn’t going to this God awful place. Either eat food out of the garbage(where Bayview clearly gets there food from) or go to a respectable deli like Harbor Deli on Main Street. I have had four issues with this place. 1. They advertise a free iced tea with student ID. I’m a college student. When I handed my ID offer they told me I wasn’t a student. Interesting, because according to my professors, I’m currently a student. I told them I was, just in college. They said oh, well it’s for HS students only. Right, so say that in the window, say HS students only. Not college students, they don’t count for some reason. 2. They have a $ 10 minimum and I have been refused service several times. I admit, when I come to a $ 4-$ 6 bill that is my mistake and I should have brought cash. Sometimes I come to the $ 8-$ 9 mark, and they refuse me. They make my sandwich, and tell me sorry $ 10 minimum. WHATDELI refuses service completely over ONEDOLLAR? This sorry excuse for a deli. Rather then make the sale and pay SMALL credit card percentage they just refuse the entire deal, guaranteeing I will never return again. GREATJOBGUYS! 3. The customer service is AWFUL. I’ve had better service at the DMV after a holiday weekend. No thank you’s, no hello’s, no anything. Just«what kind of terrible sandwich do you want today» It’s terrible that these people have jobs here, and there are actually NICE people looking for jobs and can’t find them. Maybe they’re ex Time Warner employees, that would explain why it’s so terrible. 4. THEWORSTTHINGEVER. THEYDON’T CHANGETHEIRGLOVES. EVER. EVER. EVER. I watched one replace a garbage bag, then start handling food. I told him to change his gloves and he goes«I did.» YEAHNO. I’m 6’3 I can see over the counter, and I can see those grimy gloves handling food. They handle money, then make sandwiches. WHATISTHEPOINTOFTHEGLOVES? I immediately walked out and tried to forget what I just saw. Instead of going here, just go to Stop and Shop. Head to the meat department. Open up ground beef, eat an entire package. Wait two hours, and enjoy the intestinal pain. THAT is pretty much what happens when you eat Bayview Deli food. AVOIDATALLCOSTS. YOURWALLETANDTOILETWILLTHANKYOU.

This place is the spot for a good deli sandwich. I actually don’t live around the area but was introduced to it a couple of years ago. Honestly just ask for whatever sandwich that has the spicy mayo they use. I’ve tried to recreate it but idk how they do it. I get a sandwich that’s not on their menu. If you’re not crazy about spicy don’t get it cause it has a kick. Their half and half is the perfect balance of lemonade and iced tea. Plus they have a super size which sometimes still isn’t enough. I wish they opened later but it is what it is. Overall, this place is great and should be a regular for the people that live around there.

Ok so I have a small confession and an apology for Bayview Deli, I am SORRY!!! I am sorry that I’ve been living in PW for over 20+ years, yet had not visited it once even though I passed by it each day and visited everything around it all this time. I always saw the people going in but it never dawned on me to try it for myself. 2 months ago or so, I was hanging out with some friends and one of them couldn’t rave enough about the place and how amazing their sandwiches were that he had become hooked on it and made it a point to frequent it almost on a daily basis. This really got me thinking and after hearing about it again, I had to try it for myself. As you walk-in, it may look like another deli, but I kid you not, this place truly is in a class by itself. From the routine deli sandwiches to the hot foods variety on any given day, this place has a list of signature sandwiches long enough to make one come back for a while just to give a try to all of them. With so many options, I have yet to break the tip of the iceberg but all I’ve go to say is 2 sandwiches that have totally created a fanatic out of me, are the bourbon street chicken and the big beef melt. These 2 have become one of my all-time favorite options anywhere and now i realize how one can become addicted and not think twice of returning on a daily basis. The bourbon street chicken packs a spicy punch with the cajun mayo and the juicy and flavorful chicken breast marinated perfectly. Meanwhile, the big beef melt is pure awesomeness of roast beef and cheese warmed and oozing with flavor and gravy liquid, making it worthwhile getting a bit messy. Sometimes, a bit of waiting around is expected with long lines and wait service but I kid you not, this place is worth waiting for. The staff is friendly and patient. I def. have a lot of catching up to do and try to opt for other signature sandwich options, but every time i walk in, i ended up with those options…

Philly cheese($ 8.14, see photo) The sandwich was good. The chicken was not too dry or fibrous, nor very moist. Very decent, actually. It melted well with the cheese and mushrooms. The bread wasn’t very chewy, and each bite had a good proportion of each ingredient. It was a bit pricey, albeit very decently priced. Most sandwiches were $ 8-$ 10. They only take credit for $ 10 and above, although I paid debit and it was fine. The line can get long, since they only have 1 register.

There are two things in this world that I am addicted to: 1. Chapstick and 2. Bayview’s potato salad I don’t know what they put into their potato salad, but I crave it every single day. I’m generally here twice a day(not great on the wallet) two days out of the week and once every other day. Do’s: –Get a AM egg sandwich on an onion roll(lunch sandwiches too, although they are a little smaller, but not by much) –Get a corn muffin toasted with butter –POTATOSALAD –Tuna salad(can’t be the low fat one though, it tastes very very different) –Lemon pepper grilled chicken(if they have it that day) –Iced tea or ½ and ½(½ iced tea, ½ lemonade) Some deli-men are better at preparing sandwiches than others, but it’s the luck of the draw. Finally, I don’t know who gave this place one dollar sign«$», but it’s not cheap. Breakfast will set you back at least $ 5(not bad at all), but a lunch sandwich will cost you at least $ 10.

Best tuna in Port! Chicken soup is delicious. They will make it for you with or without noodles. Egg salad is delicious when it’s fresh. Sandwiches are packed with ingredients and delicious. They always have a variety of interesting hot foods and salads. My son likes their grilled cheese. It is also comfortable to sit and eat in.

Favorite deli in town. Egg sandwiches are alway cooked well. Lunch sandwiches are always on point. Mac & cheese is delightful. Half and halfs are a must. It is expensive and lines are usually long, but worth it for a good meal.

I am going to judge this place with out knocking ed for being freaked out when some weird guy starts asking him personal questions.(shut up and eat your eggs bro). Anyway this place is great, chicken fantastic is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had and the mac and cheese is amazing. Lines get long round lunch time on the weekdays so if you can get in before or after. Bacon egg and cheese is very good as well. Some times they take a long time to make a sandwich but for the quality of food you are getting its not a big deal. It is a bit pricey but if you dont like that then New York is not the place for you.

Slow service, long lines, got hung out on hold to call an order in for several minutes. This coupled with average food makes for many better choices

Many a morning I ate their sausage, egg & cheese sandwich. But the deliciousness of said sandwich is overshadowed by the one hilarious time I called them with a simple question: «Is this Ed’s?», I asked.(Ed was the owner, I think… we all called it «Ed’s»). “It depends, who is this?” «…a customer» Shady dealings at the Bayview Deli? You be the judge…
