Love the selection and quality service. Beanies always has the best meats available.

A true gem in the Port and worth a drive(I came about 20 miles). Ordered two bone-in rib-eyes at the counter and they cut them just for us. Bought some great seasoned bacon as well. We’ve been back a few times now and each time we’re very pleased with the selection and prices. It’s worth going a little out of your way for!

I lived in Port for years and I would stop in every weekend. Now we live in Brookfield so it is a special trip but well worth the drive. Just had spaghetti with tomato basial Italians, and chicken brats last weekend. Every thanksgiving I have Steve cut up a turkey for me, brined and smoked on the grill it is simply the best. I have even shipped thier home made fresh sausage and summer sausage as far as Alaska in trade for wild caught sammon and halibut. So if you are driving on I-43, make the detour through downtown Port Washington and get yourself a treat, you may even start making regular sausage runs.

I absolutely love Bearnies. Every time I visit town I have to stop in and get a few packs of bacon & their frozen pulled pork! The customer service is awesome here as well. My mom and I always pop in together I also have a client who stops here as well when he travels through town!

Best beef jerky I’ve ever had. It may be expensive but it’s worth it. Everything I’ve gotten from here has been good.

Having been here a half dozen times now, we’ve gotten quite a few of the butchered meat products. I especially like the beef jerky shingles and the hot Hungarian bacon. But that being said, there are a bunch of things here that are unique and amazing. Serbian bacon, English rashers bacon, landjager, steaks, roasts, duck, blood sausage, smoked chickens, etc. The store also has other items for sale, such as beer and liquor, condiments like curry ketchup, and extras like sauerkraut or Polish pickled salads. Also of note are the smoked pig ears for $ 1.50 each. Our dog goes crazy for these and even being only 16 lbs, he wants to finish the whole ear in one sitting(we don’t let him). Other things of note about Bernie’s: that salty smoke aroma that pervades the air is amazing. If you could bottle that, I’d be happy. The staff is helpful and patient with indecisive people, which is a plus when presented with so many delicious options. Don’t expect to spend less than $ 40 on meats when going here, as you’ll persuade yourself to buy more than you’d have thought. But, this is a good thing as everything is amazing. Drive out of your way to go here, and you won’t be disappointed.

I am a local of Port Washington, but I only recently discovered the greatness that is Bernie’s Fine Meats. This place has the BESTMEATEVER. I swear, the garlic summer sausage is some of the highest quality sausage I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve NEVER had better beef jerky. And the bacon is simply amazing… try the Serbian style! It will be the best bacon you’ll ever have. By the way, if you’re an out-of-state tourist visiting Wisconsin, you’d be silly to not pick up some local Wisconsin beer(which Bernie’s has a nice selection of). New Glarus Spotted Cow is a staple, but anything from a Wisconsin brewer will combine with the greatness of Bernie’s meats to give you a taste of the best that Wisconsin has to offer.

I love these Old-School joints! Processing in the rear, display cases in the front. Nothing to hide, but when everything you have to offer is so good, and such a high quality, you really have no reason to hide anything! Purchased: 1. Hot beef snack sticks. I know they were fresh. I watched a guy vacuum-pack them. These were pretty good, but I’ve had better. 2. Turkey Jerky. This was really great. I didn’t know what to excpect, I’n not really a Jerky affeciando, but I figured it would be «healthier» than beef jerky. The spices were great. They could have sold it to me as beef and I never would have known. 3. Fresh Kielbasa — haven’t had it yet, but it looks great 4. Slovenian sausages. Ditto, but I can’t wait to try. 5. Spicy curry mustard from Germany. You will never go back to Hunt’s ketchep, I swear. 6. Landjeagers. Not on this trip, but I have in the past. Theirs are as good as any I’ve had anywhere. Parked: In some random alley parking lot right behind the store. Not very obvious to find, but I’m sure the locals know its there. I put about 35 cents in the meter. I think that got me parking until next Tuesday. Helped by: Friendly young butcher guy. It was a Saturday afternoon in winter, and these guys were all hustling. All these guys look like they would be happy to help with all of your butcher shop needs. Misc. observations: I love the random European condiments and dry goods that they stock. They also have a decent selection of frozen sausages and ground meets. How do their prices compare to regular big-box grocers? Who cares. Their products can’t compare, so why compare the prices! This has become a regular stop everytime I pass through Port!

How did I not know this fine establishment existed? Bernie’s is a traditional butcher in a few ways — you can order just about any cut of meat and they offer hard to find European specialities like blood, Sloveian & Hungarian sausages. It’s all house-made. The meat here(steaks and chops) looked absolutely gorgeous. In addition to fresh meat, Bernie’s has a small selection of groceries and condiments. There’s polish pickles & soups, German curry ketchup and even some chocolates. They even sell wine! The staff is nice and happy to help you decide. We’re not in PW often but when we are, Bernie’s will be a must-stop! EDIT: if you go here, buy some of their turkey jerky! I’m not really a jerky eater and I cannot stop eating their version — it’s delicious!

Such a great place! Their Polish sausage is amazing and has literally spoiled me to any other Polish sausage(I will only get it from Bernie’s). Staff was very friendly.

It isn’t often you see a true butcher shop these days, but even if they were more common, Bernie’s Fine Meats would stand out in a crowd. You are greeted at the door with a smoked aroma. In addition to may Wisconsin staples such as homemade brats in a variety of flavors, bacon, summer sausage and jerky, they also have a selection of imported Polish products, specialty beverages and farm fresh eggs. They will create a gift box or a party platter upon request and also cut a steak, to your specification, off a dry-aged slab. The owner and staff are very friendly and greet me like a friend when I stop in, granted I used to live down the street from the shop in stop in fairly regularly. That fact aside, they still remember me when I return. Some of my favorites here, in no particular order are: Hot Hungarian Bacon, Beer Brats, Spicy Jerky, Garlic Summer Sausage & Sirloin Steak with their house dry rub seasoning. Even though it isn’t exactly«on the way» to anywhere I am going, it is worth taking the scenic route through Port Washington to stop at Bernie’s. Added note: I saw several reviews for people that have not been pleased with the service. I urge you to give them a second chance. The shop tends to be busy during festivals or when the marina is open during the summer. The shop does their best to serve everyone the best they can but it can be more hectic when there is a line and the nature of their business is full service versus self serve.

Not sure when I have last been in an actual butcher shop. But, the woman at Vines to Cellar said Bernie’s is a Must Try in Port Washington. She claims they have the award winning 2nd Best Bacon in the State. How could anyone say No to award winning bacon. Right away I was struck by the smell of Butcher Shop. I am sure it is common, I just don’t have experience with fresh meat butchering. They had a counter full of sausages, bacon and anything you could think of, all butchered fresh on site. I bought a package of apple wood smoke bacon! Had it for breakfast yesterday… Absolutely Delicious! I will definitely be stopping in to Bernie’s next time I am in town.

Smells here are delectable! Small shop with good selection of various meats. Great butcher shop with your homemade beef sticks and jerky, sausages and all sorts of flavors. Had some original jerky, very tasty. Passing through Port Washington, so didn’t purchase from the full menu. If I lived there I would go there.
