Well I’m confused after reading the other reviews. I had a wonderful gal named Anna Mac. After showing her 5 pictures, which she thought they all were lovely, was very clear that only 2 were do-able with my thick curly hair since I was only willing to invest 5 minutes on my hair a day. Not only did I come out with a fabulous cut(took about 10 years off me) I got a wonderful color, and when i wasn’t happy with the highlights, she got her bowl back out and re-did them. WITH a smile on her face.

This place needs to be consistent. First time I call, don’t take reservations, but will put name on list fifteen minutes ahead. So the next time I call to do that. «oh, you have to just come in and wait». And they’re really rather rude on the phone. Why even have a phone? You don’t do anything over it.

Ughh. Where to begin. I came here to get a cut and color, and I brought pictures to show the stylist how I wanted it done. The stylist(I believe her name was Kristen) could not have made it any worse. The cut was supposed to be tapered from the back with bangs in the front. I also asked for the ends of my hair to be cut somewhat erratically to give it a bit of a rough, messy look. When I left, my hair was still wet so it was difficult to see if she did the cut properly, but when it dried and I straightened it, the true horror show came out. Instead of just having a nice layered look in the back, it was as if she grabbed all the hair on top and cut it to the same length, then grabbed the hair below that and cut it all an inch longer, and so on. So instead of having a smooth, rounded back like I wanted, I have hair that is obviously cut into four distinct layers. It’s bizarre, almost as if this was her first attempt at cutting hair. She left the hair at the very bottom about an inch longer too, like a mini-mullet. I have absolutely no clue as to why she would do that, it looks as bad as it sounds. With the bangs, she didn’t even attempt to make them jagged like I asked, they’re just cut straight across. I won’t complain too much about that, though, because I think that if she had tried to do that technique, it just would have turned out worse. And then the color… I showed her what color I wanted, and she took out some swatches that she compared to my current color. She asked if I had had my hair colored before, and I said I had. She slathered the dye on, and after waiting 30 mins, rinsed it out. It was immediately apparent that the color only took at the roots(the part of the hair that has grown since I dyed it last). Maybe it just wouldn’t be possible to dye over my previous dye, but if that was true, she should have mentioned it. So I paid over $ 40 for dye that can barely be seen. I really should’ve said something at the time about how dissatisfied I was, but I genuinely believed that when it dried, it would come out better. I have to admit, though, that part of the reason I didn’t complain was that I felt the more she did, the worse she would make it. The only thing I can say in the stylist’s defense is that when my hair was cut, it turned surprisingly curly, so it was probably more difficult to work with. But I really would have thought that the stylists would be trained to work with different hair types, and I don’t think she was. The cut is so bad, I worry that I said something to offend the stylist, and she purposefully cut it poorly to get back at me. So now I’m typing this, crying, wondering if my hair is even salvageable. She did say that if it didn’t turn out right, I could return, and she’d fix it. But I don’t want to risk it coming out even worse, so I’ll go somewhere else.
