One of my favorite local spots – a classic neighborhood gem. The staff are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Very warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to. It’s family owned, and you can tell they care so deeply about not only their restaurant, but also their customers. The food is quite good as well; the panko chicken is my personal favorite. They host some nice events during the week too. Pay it a visit; you won’t be disappointed.

This pub/restaurant never disappoints. Basic food with a twist at a great price. Fantastic bar tenders.

Been coming here for years. Usually I come on Sunday night for a few drinks and bar burger. John, the Sunday night bartender is excellent. I’ve also brought friends here for regular dinners and never have been disappointed.

We went there for lunch today and told the hostess and waiter that we needed to be out in 45 minutes to go to a show. We ordered portobello mushroom with pasta & vegetables. After waiting 30 minutes we were told that food would be out in 5 minutes. Food came 15 minutes later… no portobello mushroom. That was the dish. They offered to cook it, but we had already been there 45 minutes, so we had to leave. I don’t know how this place stays in business. They have no clue.

Tried last night before a show in town. Place seemed busy was seated right away in dinning room. Sat there for 15 minutes no one came to take drink or food orders so we left. We told the hosted as we exited. We will never go back… Ever. Found a very nice Italian restaurant a few door east of them that was quite welcoming and accommodating to our time restraints to seeing the show. Wish we went there first … Will go back. Food, service, and owner very nice Toscanini is the name.

This is actually a regular spot for me and my coworkers after a long day. Can’t say much about the actual dining room experience because we usually gorge on fries and other snacks at the bar. I love the bartenders. They remember you and are super attentive. Glass is never really empty: D

Enjoyed our group dinner at Finn MacCool’s Irish Pub in Port Washington on a Saturday evening. Friendly service, and we were never rushed. Pluses: * Variety of Irish brewskies on tap * Family friendly * Live music on our nite there, Saturday * Burgers are popular(see pic) * Good selection of Irish Whiskies * Private parking lot and free street parking daily after 5 pm. * Though our group was large, no mandatory tip was added to bill. So our tip was greater. Small Gripes: * Beers were served in glasses less than a pint. Not sure why the short-pour * Suggest that Finn MacCool add Green and Yellow Spot Irish Whiskies Tips: * Check website for early bird specials, children specials, and Tuesday Senior Citizen discount nite

Came here with coworkers for a celebration lunch for someone. It was the middle of the day during the week so the place was virtually empty. We were sat in the back up against a wall with plenty of room. The service was on the slow side, considering there weren’t many other patrons there at the time. We were a big group though so I could see if that made a little impact here. The food was just okay. It really wasn’t memorable. It was your pretty standard pub food. I got a chicken wrap which was what you’d expect. I saw they had advertised some special nights of entertainment up on the walls. I’m not sure if I would make the trip back due to how far I live, but if I was in the neighborhood by chance I might check it out.

The bartenders were absolutely rude to me and my group of friends. We were all of age, but some of the people we were with had trouble with their IDs and decided to leave. For some reason I was asked to show my ID twice. We were treated terribly. The drinks were okay, I’ve had better. I will not be coming back to this place.

This place is great. Local crowd, great bartenders and the food is honesty great for pub grub I have never had anything that wasn’t great. French onion soup and diablo burger. Really good Guinness. They have this cool harp player on Sundays playing Star Wars tunes and such. This is a great Irish pub and our favorite place to go in port wash. Go there.

What a great restaurant! Food has been great. Especially the mussels for appetizer & stuffed shrimp entrée. The staff is always welcoming with open arms and hugs. Lorna and Nora always remember our favorites! We love this place it’s like home. George plays the sax on Saturday nights. It’s like going to a free concert. He is friendly too! Just had the best steak and shrimp combo special! Great fish & chips! Try Irish coffee after dinner!

Average food, I say bring in Chef Gordon Ramsey. He visited the Westhampton Finn Mc Cools and the food was excellent there!

This is a watering hole for desperado locals. At that, it is OK, but as far as eating dinner or having a good time at the bar with a group of friends, go somewhere else. Poor service, sketchy inconsistent food, only 2TV’s behind the bar, it’s empty most of the time and it’s easy to see why. They just don’t give a damn, it’s easy to see.

I simply like the place for it’s Guinnes! I haven’t been for years and about 15 years ago, I actually lived about two blocks away. All I can say is this… I’ve had alot of Guinness in my times and I think outside of Ireland, it’s very good!(and yes if you haven’t guessed it, I’m half Irish) so if you’re around that spot during St. Patty’s… Try it out and see!

Came here years ago for some drinks and remembered it being much better. Bar area was very dark and in need of a face lift. I sat down at the bar for one of their advertised ½ off happy hour drafts from the sidewalk blackboard. The selections on tap were pretty basic, so I decided on the Sam Adams Boston Lager. The bartender attempted to pour a glass for me only to find out they were out of it. Left with very few choices, I went with a Blue Moon. She filled a 20 oz glass and charged me $ 5.50. Unless they are normally $ 11 a pop, I’m not sure how it was half price, but I decided not to question it. I quickly finished my beer and left. Bar was full with local old timers, but dining room was almost completely empty. Only 2 tv’s behind the bar. Parking lot in the back. I recommend trying somewhere else.

Comfort food. I’m a bit baffled by the reviews here… Honestly, this is one of the BEST meals all around that I’ve had in a while. We started out with appetizers. My date had the lobster salad sliders, which he said were fantastic. I had some onion soup that was out of this world. They used some special cheese on the top that was absolutely delish. I don’t remember what it was, but it was just a tad spicey. It was also the perfect balance of soup vs topping. Also, there were crispy onion strips on top to bring some texture to it! For dinner, I had the skirt steak accompanied by come fresh creamed spinach which was delicious as well. I can’t remember what exactly my date had, but he said it was awesome as well. It was some type of short rib on top of lobster mashed potatoes, I think. It fell right off the bone. We finished with a cheesecake which was also awesome. I can’t say much for the service as we were the only people sitting down for dinner at the time, but the woman was very pleasant. All in all, we will DEFINITELY be going back, and I highly recommend this to anyone!

The place is nice but the staff seemed confused about our reservation. The service was friendly but uninformed(2 separate queries about the soup of the day got 2 «let me check» and then 2 different answers) and very, very slow — over an hour between being seated and getting served actual food. The food was ok but nothing special — lamb was very fatty. For a place across the street from a theater the slowness is inexplicable.

Finn was a great man back in the emerald isles and if he ate here he would more than likely be happy. A little more upscale than your average Irish joint, finn MacCool’s is pretty good sized. The bar is big and the bartenders are really good. The food, as mentioned, is good and you can get all the usual Irish fare plus a nice selection of American dishes. The only downside is that there are a lot of families so the rowdiness factor is down in the dirt.
