Holiday Inn Harborview – Port Washington

The Good: Easy wifi access, comfy mattress, good water pressure in shower
The Bad: Dead bolt broken, not enough outlets, holes in curtains, strange noises from AC, no room svc. menus in ring binder, rude staff (check in desk, restaurant waitress, NOT maids)
The Ugly: Open the door and it looks like you’ve stepped back in time to the 80’s. This is an old, dated hotel badly in need of a makeover. Dirty carpet, stuffing coming out of chairs, chips in furniture, dorm room type frig/​microwave, etc. I was told I was «lucky» because I got a harbor view room, however when I opened the curtains all I could see was the gravel roof of the pool below.
Overall I would say, if you can, stay somewhere else.

Great location, horrible room. This hotel is very outdated and uncomfortable. In fact, I am writing this from the hotel room at 4:30 a.m., having been awake for the last two hours, unable to sleep because of the cheap air conditioning system and dished mattress.

Has location, and that’s about it. Really needs an update. Wireless network slow and kept kicking us off. When we called the front desk about it, they said we had to call their tech support. How odd we had to do that. The toilet would only flush if you held the handle down the entire time then filled to the rim as though it was going to spill over. The windows are screwed shut. A pity since the lake breeze is so nice. The staff need training and customer service skills. The evening I called to reserve, the woman said the hotel was full the next week. She said it without looking. I called the next morning and they had several openings. I knew it. I could tell she didn’t want to look or help. The owners need to review this place. Gives This chain a bad name.

This hotel gets my highest rating as they are stand up people, and the hotel was nice. Our furnace broke and we needed a place to stay for the night. This Holiday Inn, although only 2 min from our house, took us in. Not only did they expedite getting us a room, but they gave us a very favorable rate considering the situation we were having with no heat at home. The room was clean and nice and the view was fantastic. The food from the restaurant was tasty and the kids loved it.

DISGUSTING. Enough said really… a myriad of strange smells, outdated and old décor, major staining on carpet walkways. In the room, you just feel gross. Morning coffee is also disappointing. The price per night is astronomical given the hotel’s condition… sad

I know that this hotel has the best location, but that wont keep them coming back, time for a upgrade. The hotel is stuck in the late 70’s the furniture in my room looked like it came from a garage sale. There was barely any outlets to plug in anything like a computer or cell phone charger. The bed was like a rock. Wifi was SLOW, I used my phone as my wifi to connect my computer.
The room smelled like someone smoked in it. Go to Port Washington it is a great town and the people are friendly but find some where else to stay besides the Holiday Inn.
