WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I would give them a negative rating if I could. It must be the female owner/owner’s wife that all reviewers on here keep referencing w/​whom I spoke. She was awful!
My wife & I scheduled them to come out to cut the opening in our existing granite countertop in order to fit the new range we had ordered. They said it would be less than an hour job and would cost ~$ 200. We told them multiple times that we had to have the work done by a certain day, because that’s the day our new range was being delivered/​installed. They said they would have somebody out the same day as our range delivery to complete the work, as this was their earliest available date to do the work.
They called us at 5:30PM the night before they were supposed to be there and said that the had to cancel our appointment and reschedule for the following week. My wife didn’t get the phone message until the next morning, the day they were supposed to be there/​the day our new range was to be delivered.
I called and asked why the had cancelled on us and the lady, who claimed to be the owner said, «Well, I can’t give out personal details of my employees, but the person who was supposed to do the work had a family medical emergency, so we had to cancel and reschedule on everyone who had jobs scheduled for today and tomorrow until he gets back to work on Friday.» I asked if they only had one person who was able to cut granite countertops, and she said, «No, we have several people who can do it.» I asked why she couldn’t send somebody else, she had no answer for my question, not even that everyone else was already busy with other jobs, just silence/​dead air on the phone.
I then said that I was very upset and she said, «Well, I’m sorry that I didn’t know that one of my employees was going to be donating a kidney last night.» I asked, «He’s donated a kidney last night, but he’s going to be back at work in 2 days?» Again, just silence/​dead air on the phone. You could tell by what she said/​how she said it that she was simply lying.
I understand that emergencies happen, but this was not an emergency… they screwed up w/​their scheduling and rather than simply owning up to it, she decided to try to concoct some huge lie about it.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, will never attempt to do business with them again.

I purchased my granite for my kitchen countertops from Granite Works and it’s stunning and high qualiity… BEST part was I purchaed my granite for a great price!!!
For myself, having worked in construction previously and also in sales, I understand how sometimes things may not always go smoothly with installation or how peoples exact expectations may not always be met perfectly, I get it, but I had no issues whatsoever.
I always keep an open line of communication available between myself and any business I do business with as well and I would never NOT PAY for something because of a small mess or whatever… Thats on the customer and is horrible she would do succh a thing, and NOT PAY… Thats STEALING!
She received the granite and it was installed… Sounds like a lack of communication on the customers part and that the customer is trying to pull a fast one and STEAL the granite from Granite Works.
I always keep in mind… As a customer… That business goes both ways and it is like life, if your looking for mistakes or an option to pull a fast one, you may find them, but it is how you handle your business, is what makes for good business. To simply decide im not paying is just THEFT!

Everything went well at first until the wrong piece of granite was delivered. Mistakes do happen and I understand this, however, the owner’s wife argued with me that it was the correct piece when it was not what I had ordered. Once they realized it was actually for a different customer and took a second look over my paperwork she offered no apology. 2^nd attempt — the granite was cut completely wrong as if someone just did it free hand with no real measurements and they tried to say it was on me?! I left 4 messages before I got a response from anyone to set up a third appointment. Angel (owner) who was not friendly at all on the phone finally set up another appointment. 3^rd attempt — no show! I’m done with this company and asked them to cancel everything. I will be emailing the BBB if necessary to get back my money since I have received nothing but bad service! Too many mistakes, no responsibility taken, and very poor service!

BUYER BEWARE! NEGATIVE 5 stars. Unless you are a carpenter, plumber, and stone mason; RUN. FOR. THE. HILLS! You may save a dollar or two but, you’ll ultimately pay the price when dealing with the female owner. She’ll quickly blame you, the customer, when the job goes South. Please proceed with caution!!!

First, I need to say I love my granite and want it to be right more than anything!
BUT, customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered!
On Monday, 6÷2÷2014 our countertop was installed. The installers arrived at scheduled time — they were pleasant enough but I was disappointed by the mess they left, but I could deal with that.
I signed off on their work, as they said it was just a verification that the work was complete. BIG MISTAKE — I didn’t realize that I was expected to inspect their work. Later that night my husband and I realized one of the seams wasn’t smooth (I could actually slide my fingernail into the seam about 1/​8″) and that the other seam was uneven. We have since found several chips that were not smoothed out in the finishing process.
Called the very next day and left a message, no return phone call. Called the next day, again call not returned. My husband stopped in to GraniteWorks after work — and reluctantly Angel agreed to come out on the next Wednesday. No show, said the appointment was for the following Wednesday. Today is the following Wednesday, again no show.
When I called to find out where they were Angel screamed and threatened me, and said he wouldn’t come to our home with out payment in full — as we had disputed the credit card charge after the failure to return the calls and the first no show, plus after reading reviews here and on other sites… we said when the work was done correctly, we would gladly pay. Paid in full, made appointment for July 17 — see below!
I have never had a business act so unprofessionally, and if he would have returned phone calls and showed up when scheduled — he’d be payed in full, and I’d be writing much more favorable reviews of GraniteWorks!
Had an appointment today (July 17 at 2:30) for Angel to come fix the countertop. Found out at 3:00 he was in Chicago, but Nick was on his way… it’s 6:30 (and 6 phone calls, he’s coming) and still no show!
The irony of all of this, when Nick finally showed — it was less than 30 minutes work. If Angel wouldn’t have ignored phone calls and showed for the first appointment (which was only made when my husband showed up at the business) this could have all been avoided.
GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, the sign of a GREAT business… ignoring telephone calls, not showing for appointments, and threatening a customer — not so much!

Angel did come out and review the job, we agreed the two slabs needed to be replaced and a week later the original installer came out and replaced the slabs. He scribed and ground down the one edge for a good fit. Certainly would have liked it done right the first time or the fix to be much quicker but ultimately it did get fixed. If price is your primary concern this may be a good fit but be cautious.

The staff was friendly but the installation left quite a bit to be desired. They were late and made too many mistakes.
