Pets of Porter Ranch

Alright. Here it goes. I hate doing this. But, I have been going to Pets of Porter Ranch for 6 years. But right before 2013 they were doing great. My dogs were not all cut up or depressed when they got home. They were taken care of as pets who cannot voice if they are in pain or if they are being handled too roughly. Now back in November-​ish my english bulldog had a cotton ball in her ear when we came home. Not only that it got infected and it became a hefty vet bill. I talked to the owner and we worked it out and he apologized and swore it would not happen again. Now lets fast forward to last weekend. I took my maltese and english bulldog again, and we noticed how rough they were with my english bulldog when drying her. She ended up throwing up and the sad part is that we witnessed it. I was so sad and disappointed and ashamed that I would let this happen to her again when I was promised by the owner nothing like this would happen again. I am done going to their establishment and I think it is wise that if you love your pet that you would take a second take before leaving them there.

Peanut and Butter love it here and if you can time your visits on Tuesdays or Wednesdays; their price can’t be beat. The groomers do a great job and my dogs are just as happy going in as they are coming out.

I dropped my little 20 pound dog off for grooming. We have been going here for the past 2+ yrs. While he was being groomed, a very vicious much much larger dog broke out of his crate and lunged at my dog on the grooming table and grabbed him by the throat. If the groomer hadn’t got between them my little dog would of been hurt much more then he was. The groomer called and told me what happened we picked him up immediately. It could of been much worst than it was. If I knew that they even groomed «those type of dogs» I would of never taken my dog there in the first place. The owner NEVER called to ask how my dog was. BEWARE taking your «little dogs» to this place, my little dog has become very timid over this whole thing. Who would think that your dog would attacked by a «vicious dog» at the groomers??? This «other dog» bit his throat, I still feel so bad that I took him there.
I felt like the owner thought that I should be «thankful» that he offered a vet visit and not charge me for «grooming». I just want to stress that the owner never called to ask about the my dog. He just had an employee tell me that «he wasn’t going to charge for the grooming and if I chose to I could take him to the vet.»
I honestly think that they will take «any type» of animal just for the $$$$. I do not think that they employees who work in the back are fully trained groomers. I think after reading past reviews of this place that a few of the groomers are «learning» on the animals. VERY SCARY!!!
I would like to acknowledge Dana, she is really the best and very professional and loving toward the animals. I will not be a returning customer I wouldn’t knowingly tramatize him any more than he has already been.

Been going here since they opened and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! My shih tzu always comes out so adorable and she loves everyone there. I always «walk-​in» instead of making an appointment and they’re always happy to accommodate me; not like at a lot of other grooming salons.

First off, it looks like my puppy has had a rough day. His fur is uneven around his face, ears, and throughout his body. To be honest, it looks like the first time I attempted to give him a trim with scissors – Unacceptable work that took 6 ½ hours, done by «professionals».
Respectfully, I still paid full price.
I have reason to believe they hurt and abused my pup for numerous reasons. He has a 1-​cm cut under his right eye, his blinks are slow and unsynchronized, both eyes have been bloodshot since, he still wails when I gently try to pick him up, and he won’t jump onto any furniture, as he normally would’ve. His mannerisms have changed and he has been balled up in his bed. I feel so sad for the little guy…
They should have a waiting area within the store. I will not be returning to this business, but a little advice for you, Reader… I’d stick around until they’re finished – just to keep an eye out and make sure they’re not mistreating or abusing the animals. They shouldn’t have a problem with you waiting and if so, it should raise some red flags.
Don’t be fooled by their ‘friendly customer service’ or the handkerchief accessory they tie around your pet— something’s not right with what goes on after you drop off your loved ones and go on about with your day.

40+ dollars for my dog to come out looking the same way he went in. They didn’t clean his ears or trim his nails. They claimed they did and overall trim but it didn’t look like it. I asked them to trim his face specifically but I had to do it myself when we got home just so he could see! Never going back

Went to get our 8 year old bichon poodle groomed here for the first time, he usually goes to a place in Ventura, but since we were out of town we decided to try this place out. So happy we came in! Employees were very friendly and informative, especially the groomer. She did an amazing job and cut our dogs hair exactly the way we showed her! Our dog Jordan has a large tongue that sticks out all the time, so she did very well working around it. They even did a great job brushing his teeth because we see and smell the difference! Also, the bandana was a cute finishing touch! Definitely will be coming back!

I took my very sweet 8 month old Persian Kitten to get his nails trimmed there for the very first time today. I had called Jordan with very short notice, desperate to find any Groomer that would trim a cat’s nails. I cannot even begin to communicate how difficult it is to find a Groomer who will even touch a cat, and far be it with short notice. Jordan was very willing to take the task on, and she did it exceedingly well too.
Thank you very much for all of your assistance today!!! You have made me a very happy Cat Momma, and my Galileo, a very happy Cat. We will be back to receive more TLC very soon.

Let’s start off with the important stuff. I have a rescued 9−10ish year old toy pomeranian. We’ve had her in our family for about 4 years now, I quite literally rescued her off the side of Topanga Cyn Blvd dehydrated, overgrown, and with half her left ear bit off. She’s the most loving little thing you’ll ever meet, despite the hell she’s been through. Early on, we discovered she suffers from severe seizures without any known triggers, and has gone totally blind from her two most severe seizure episodes. Needless to say, I’m terrified to take her anywhere that isn’t her home, and leave her with anyone who isn’t her family. It is always with a bit of apprehension and a very nervous heart that I drop her off at any groomers. I make a point to let the groomer and receptionist know that she’s old, blind, has seizures, a bad hip, the whole nine. My little fur daughter and I are not the easiest clients of the day! This is the third time I’ve taken my Nala here and the third time that they’ve done a wonderful job with her. She’s a bit shaky when I pick her up, but there are many instances where she shakes at home as well so it would be unfair for me to blame that on any groomer. Given the fact that I work from home and am with her most of every day, I expect her to be a bit jittery when I’ve left her somewhere unfamiliar for a few hours. There has only been one groomer I’ve ever taken her to that she wasn’t shaking when I picked her up, but that was Pussy & Pooch in Long Beach where they seat the dogs at a dog bar and feed them organic treats when they’re not having their hair cut, so that explains that lol. All in all, this is a great little affordable dog grooming salon that will take great care of your furry kids, EVEN IF THEY ARE SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS!!! It takes special people to give special care to special dogs, point blank. Thanks Pets of Porter Ranch!

Found this place through Unilocal called them up on a busy Saturday and they still took my dog in. Unfortunately he was a handful and gave the groomers a very hard time. He still managed to get a pretty good hair cut since his hair was full of knots. I felt horrible as I wish I would have told them to give him treats and he will become your best friend. They tried their best and even with my dog being a total pain he still came out great. They tried and that’s all that mattered to me because I know my dog can be just a pain. They were friendly and patient and I knew they didn’t want him to leave looking bad which was enough for me. They charged me 49 for my 11 month shitzu plus 8 for teeth cleaning. Worth every penny. Great place.

I bring my two yorkies here and every time they come home looking so happy and clean!

Great grooming place. Always so accommodating, even with little or no notice. My little shitzu, who typically hates all groomers, actually doesn’t mind coming here. Loves Gina!

My groomer, Jenn did a great job on my lil teacup MALTESE! Her sister ceci was very helpful and informative when answering my questions over the phone and at the shop. The whole staff was great and they took care of my doggie! :) I showed them pics of my doggie so they could see how I like her cut & they did a good job! Thanks ladies! See U all again soon.

I took one of my Pekingese here and I have to say Letitia did such a great job on him I had to come back. Shes super nice and i felt very comfortable leaving my peke. When i picked him up he looked so happy and vibrant. So I brought my other peke of course. I won’t go anywhere else now that I found this great groomer. Thanks guys!!! — Nicki

I took my 5mo old morkie in for full treatment as this was his fist visit to a doggy groomer! After reading endless reviews on dog grooming I was scared to take my puppy anywhere. I’m glad I came across pets of porter ranch I told them exactly what my concerns where and they went above and beyond making Roco’s first visit a pleasurable one! They took their time and pretty much did what they could as he would allowed! End result good looking puppy & very happy parents

It was my very first time coming here. We wanted to give this place a try since we are new to the neighborhood.
I asked them to give my PUG a bath, to clean his ears, clip nails and brush his teeth. She told me that clipping his nails and brushing his teeth would be an additional cost, to which I agreed.
When I picked him up, his skin was super dry, nails super sharp and on top I decided to check if they cleaned his facial wrinkles and OMG, for 57 $ that should’ve been the first thing they should start with!
Very disappointed, would not recommend this place!

My sister took our dog in last week, their staff was very nice however, afterwards we noticed that he had been cut under his eye and on his ear. We took him to the vet because his eye seemed infected. He still looks pretty bad, it doesn’t seem like its healing normally. We didn’t contact the business about this, we just won’t be returning.

I give this place an A+
I am a fairly new customer, but I have taken my baby here three times and I have not been let down any of the three times. And believe me … I always want the puppy cut for my Pomeranian (like boo for all those who knows that cute doll like pom) and a few places I have taken my pom to have always FAILED.
I recommend this place for sure :)

My first impression is that this place is organized and clean. Staff is friendly. Great customer service goes along way with me. The owner, Jordan, is very nice and actually cares about your pet. They’re not your typical grooming shop. They’re better! Great customer service, friendly groomers, they sell pet food and supplies, they keep the a/​c on everyday (I’ve been to places that try to save money by not using their a/​c — which is deadly dangerous for your pet to overheat) and they are open late so you can pick up your pet when you get out of work. Give them a try! You’ll see the difference in quality and service. The price is reasonable and worth everything that you get. Oh, almost forgot to mention, the bad groomers that were there a few months ago are No Longer There!

This is the pet grooming place that everyone should try. I took my 6 months Maltese for first hair cut Sunday to this shop. I was very pleases with her haircut and more I was pleased when the owner of the shop introduced himself and he wanted to be sure that I was happy since I had a very bad experience with previous grooming place in Granada hills.
Place is very clean, people are very friendly and the owner is awesome. I would recommend this shop to everyone.
Stay away from Puppy Palace in Granada Hills…
