Kroger Food Stores

Please, please, please do not buy fresh meat here. Myself and others have gotten sick from it.
I only come here if i need something a few small things in a hurry, because I can get in and out fairly quickly, and it is the closest grocery to home. If you are looking to go to Kroger for a large shopping trip, the new store off northpark is worth the extra 5 minute drive (it’s seriously right there…)

Was just about to buy a dipping sauce here when I realized it was expired by 10 months!!! Expired November 2013, it is September 2014! The last time I came here no one but the manager knew what tofu was, or where it was located.

I am not a fan of Krogers, but given the options of grocery stores in this area, it is my favorite. The store is well stocked, clean and I have never had to wait in line long, like Walmart. Regardless of what is on the menu I am able to find the ingredients here, saving me from going or multiple stores to complete some of my more complex meals.

I have no idea what the hell these people are talking about their meat here is WAY better and really fresh then any place i have been to INCLUDING HEB or Walmart I refuse to go to walmart all because it takes HOURS to get cheked out and the people there are rude as hell and arent fast or quick about anything and it always seem as if there is a problem going on everytime i step foot in there… I personaly know the manager at Kroger and he is awesome if you have an issue he personally takes care of it or trys the best he can with rude customers loved what they did with the remodel still think they should of made it bigger but they are building a new store down the road so their was no need for that… and yea this store has been here as long as porter itself so if you dont like it move back to the city to which you are acustom… All the employees that I knew are lovely expetionally Ashley the cashier she was always sweet and patient and also incredibly fast at what she did I personally have no issues with this store at all none of my family or friends have but yes i agree the self checkout is agrivating but I dont tend to go through their.

It’s not my favorite store. Living in Porter is living outside of Houston. This means that you don’t get the nicer stores. I will say that the store has most things you need. It is clean, it isn’t new.
I have found their produce good, the meats are fine, but I am not happy with the bakery. They don’t do a great job of rotating their stock. My tip for you if you are buying their bakery look towards the back of the rack and get the freshest you can.
I don’t like their check out set up. Very few registers are open. Expect to wait. I like going to the lines where people check you out. I always find the self check out frustrating.

nice clean organized supermarket can get pricey on certain items but certain items you can find here and not at walmart which is next door. nice selection of meats and seafood.

Bought chicken thighs today from the meat dept. It was old chicken that was deteriorating. Called them right away to let them know they shouldn’t be selling it. Went there within minutes to speak with the manager. Asked to take it to the meat counter. The man in charge was very nonchalant about it and told me it was just the skin. The chicken was brown and felt like sawdust under the skin. He didn’t apologize and told me they come packaged that way. I will NEVER buy meat from there again.
The in store employees are nice but stay away from the meat department.

Cheaper to go to this Kroger than the one by my house in Kingwood.

Plan on a wait to check out, seems like they
are always understaffed when I am there.
The only store in town with decent produce.
