I am so glad I called 1st Appliance Repair. My refrigerator died in the middle of a heat wave. He was out in a jiffy. Diagnosed the problem and made the repair, finished with in an hour. I am so grateful. I called four other places and they said it would be a three day wait time. Thank you

I thought I would support small business, wrong decision. Called Barry on Wednesday, he said he’d be out Saturday am between 10-​noon. So I canceled the other company I had coming out on Monday. Saturday around 11:30, Barry calls and tells me that he looked up my model, the code it was showing could either be a $ 20 fuse, or $ 200 control. So he suggest instead of him coming to look at it, that I just go out and buy another dryer. He didn’t want to come out because the fuse is in a hard to reach spot, he didn’t want to put the effort in to check it. So he canceled the appointment. Now I cant get another repair man out for another week. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If he didn’t want to do the job, he could have at least said so when I set up the appointment. As it turns out, it WAS the $ 20.00 fuse. Poor man lost out on easy money, and gets a terrible review

We called Barry to install the water line to our new refrigerator. He did a great job and took care to make sure the line was not visible (it had to go behind some shelves to reach the kitchen plumbing). He had to locate some special parts, too. The work was perfect, reasonably priced and he arrived on time. We recommend Barry highly.

Barry is as good as it gets for appliance repair. His knowledge and promptness really sets him apart from all the rest. I’ll never use anyone else. I had an issue with our refrigerator not cooling, Barry came the same day I called and diagnosed and fixed the refrigerator fan in an hour. He carries a wide variety of parts in his work truck which is convenient and cost & time effective for us! I’d recommend him to anyone.

Once again, Barry to the rescue. My dryer timer failed so I gave Barry from 1st Appliance Repair a call. He told me it was such an easy fix that I should do it myself and proceeded to give me instructions on the job. He also gave me the name and number of a parts store to find a new timer at. This type of awesome customer service is why I will keep using 1st Appliance.

I had a relatively expensive refrigerator/​freezer that had stopped cooling and the morning I called 1st Appliance Repair, Barry was at my home within the hour. In an hours time he had diagnosed the problem (a blown thermostat) and replaced the defective part. He was efficient, courteous and his price was quite reasonable. I would highly recommend him.

called again for broken washer, then again for broken dishwasher (yes 4 major appliences broke within 6 months of each other). He gave excellent advice, diagnosed over the phone and didn’t charge.
Even explained why I’m have problem with new fridge (find company with 10 year factory warentee, not extended because they make money both ways). Most fridges nowadays last 4 – 5 years because the compressors are sooo weak (to be energy saving) that they burn out. And then they need to be replaced. That’s why our parent’s fridges lasted 20 – 25 years, and ours last 4 – 5. Parents may use more electricity, but it’s not the compressors burning out.

Sad but true, I would have to warn to stay away from 1st Appliance Repair. I found them after googling and they could come out the same day to repair our refrigerator. Well, it ends out that in an attempt of trying to save us money in labor, our refrigerator needed to be all emptied out for 4 days and then repaired after that. I’m all for saving money and appreciate the thought, but after waking up the next day seeing our refrigerator in array I called someone else for a second opinion. He’s coming out today and it will take 1 ½ hours to fix. Nice guy, but didn’t work out for us.

I googled appliance repair in portland, this company came up first with new client discount etc. What a waste of time trying to contact them let alone get an appt. Don’t waste your time. their web paged enticed me but they are flakey.
