39th Mini Mart

Solid little market with a huge selection of craft brews. Prices are on point and not overpriced like some markets in the area. Tight Tacos also just opened up next to them and they have the best tacos in Portland, hands down. You must try their Pastor and Carne Asada tacos. Solid taco for $ 2 and comes on a hand-​pressed gluten free tortilla. Can’t go wrong with these guys. I will definitely be stopping here a few times a week.

Great staff, great beer selection, great food, great munchies, great growler tap list… What more do you need? One stop shop!

This place meets all of my requirements. The sandwich was served to me after I paid for it. According to reddit this place hits the spot. Come in to buy something if you are looking for something in particular. You can get bottled water here. Talk to the employees if you want. See what they say.

Owner was super nice and they have the best prices for their 10 rotating taps. They offer tasters and also have brewery vendors come in for tasting of select 22’s. They always fill my double insulated vacuum sealed DrinkTanks Growler to the brim :) They also list their $ 8.99 special on Facebook.
This place is awesome.

This place has the best everyday values for growler fills in all of Portland as far as I can tell and according to Reddit and a number of other internet sources. They have 10 rotating taps and whoever is picking them is picking winners. I’ve seen GreenFlash, Double Mountain, Phriem, Boneyard, Elysian, Fort George, Ballast Point, Rogue, Dechutes and other reputable breweries.
Everything has been $ 9.99 except for Sculpin which was $ 11.99.
During Happy Hour (5−8PM) all fills are dollar off.
If they’re not busy you can even sample.
Staff is very attentive and friendly.
Best mini-​mart ever.

I saw a $ 4.99 special for a sub, chips and a drink. That is why I went in. Apparently this is a good place for getting beer, wine and they have a growler station. It just your ordinary mini mart with they regular candy and chips and sports drinks just with a few added things, like fresh made sandwiches.
I looked at it as cheap and fast. This wasn’t going to be the Taste Tickler or Bunk, just fast and something to eat. They have several options and I got the club with ham, turkey and bacon. Many options for veggies, which kinda surprised me and I had the option of it being toasted. A lemonade and a bag of Kettle chips and I was out of there.
It was good for what it was and the veggies were great. Enjoy.

I don’t eat much junk food, and so don’t normally have much use for convenience stores, but I like this place. They put in taps and offer growlers with a nice selection of local brews. They are trying to hold little events there and be good members of the local community. Nice, friendly folks, too.

was very impressed. Lek (sp?), the owner, was super nice. i came in and got a sub sandwich that was really good and reasonably priced.
also, their beer selection is phenomenal. plus 10 or so taps for growler fills (@ $ 10 a fill)! seriously, this place is must for any beer enthusiast.

They sell draft beer here from small brewers. You can bring an empty growler to get filled or buy one here. I never even noticed this place before. It’s not your typical mini– mart, because of the draft beers
They had hot cooked foods that you could purchase. The cashier was very nice and gave me a coupon for a free soft drink with the purchase of a sandwich for the future.

Where else can you go to get one of the best beer selections, a wide variety of tobaccos, AND NOW a growler from the tap, fresh pizza OR a sandwich made to order? This place has been one of my go to places to get a six of micro brews that meets my high-​ish standards. Now I will be visiting there more often ’cause I can get my sandwich on! Nice peeps too.

Incredible beer selection indeed… the business default pic says it all folks. Cases of beers (22’s and ⁶⁄₁₂ packs galore). We walked up n down trying to see what they had and what we’d like to try. Decisions decisions… :) very happy my sis-​in-​law recommended this place, and I too pass along mine as well.

The beer selection here is *quite* impressive, priced reasonably, and the cashier is quite friendly.

39^th Mini Mart is pretty much as good as it gets for a mini mart.
The first time I came in for an energy drink or something family friendly. As I walked around the perimeter of the store along the cold cases I thought to myself, «wow, this place has some nice beer.» As I continued my stroll I realized, «hmmm, and quite a variety too.» I walk a bit further and think «holy hell, the beer cases never end!!» This mini mart has a killer selection of cold beer. It rocks!
I turned and looked behind me and realized that there were two flipping isles of wine too! This felt like a happy welcome to the neighborhood. Just a couple blocks away is a fantastic selection of booze. Aww yeah.
Beyond the alch they have a thorough selection of smokes. Lots of chips, candy, and ice creams. So basically everything you need.
The staff rocks and remembered me on my second visit.
They also have some pretty good deals. 3/​$ 5 Rockstars. $ 3.89 pack of Marb 27’s (I don’t smoke them, but my friends do and that is CHEAP). And beer specials too.
The only thing that bums me out about this place is their $ 0.50 debit card fee. But, you know what, I’m over it. I just bring cash now.

I made my first trip to the 39^th Mini Mart today after my brother told me about it. It’s basically a convenience store but they have a whole lot of beer, too. The guy I talked to, who I think is the owner, is so nice! He noticed that I hadn’t been there before and told me how if there’s anything you want he’ll order it for you. I did suggest that it would be awesome if you could build your own six pack so you could try six different beers. I love to try lots of different kinds of beer :-) I’ll definitely be back!

A good selection of brews. More than Fred Meyer on 39^th, apparently, since their banner proclaims «Biggest Bottle Shop on 39^th»…what else would they be competing against? Pretty big for a convenience store. Small parking lot that is difficult to negotiate in/​out.

Still an amazing and ever-​growing selection of beers (they claim 1,000, which I cannot confirm, but I wouldn’t be surprised…) and wait, what WHAT? A remodel!

Still one of the best mini-​marts around simply based on the ultra-​amazing beer selection, very reasonable prices for said selection, and utter lack of pretension for such a large selection.

Don B mentioned this place to me, raving about their beer selection — while I of course didn’t think he was exaggerating, I still wasn’t quite prepared for just how good it would be.
It’s located on SE 39^th a little south of Belmont, just behind my regular gas station (
) so the last time I filled up I decided to check it out.
They’ve got at least 8 or 9 coolers of really good beer; and by that I mean domestic craft brews (from all across the country) and interesting imports. Sure, they’ve got another bunch of coolers where you can get macro brews (PBR, Coors, the Beast, etc), and the big local «micros» (Bridgeport, Widmer, Full Sail, etc) are also represented — but that stuff you can find ANYWHERE.
But Delirium Tremens? Humboldt Brewing Company? Hair of the Dog? HUB? Lazy Boy? Walking Man? New Old Lompoc? Green Flash? Often more than one variety from each brewer! Sure, you might find one or two of these at New Seasons, or even QFC or Freddies, but all of them? In one spot? And that spot not named John’s Market or Belmont Station? Seriously impressive!
They’ve got 6’ers or bombers, and as Don noted the prices are at least as good, often better, than Belmont Station. Pretty ballsy to take on the «big boy on the block» (in fact, 39^th Mini Mart is CLOSER to Belmont St than Belmont Station now!)
Aside from the beer it’s a pretty sparsely stocked convenience store. All the basics — pop, chips, candy, advil, smokes, etc. They also sell fresh-​made subs (Four…four…four-dollar footlongs! — take that $ubway), but the ingredients don’t stray far from the most standard fare (roast beef, turkey, salami, pastrami, etc). I’ve never tried one, but I watched them make one for another customer (who claimed to have one every other day), and they looked pretty decent, and took their time making it to order. I think they stop making them at 8pm.
The store closes at 2:30am — which means that hours after Belmont Station has closed their bottle shop, you can still pop in here for a high quality, interesting beer.
This place will blow away all but the most jaded of beer aficionados. There may be a few places with better selections of beer (not many, but a few), but none as stealth as the 39^th Mini Mart. I walked out with a bottle of Pliny the Elder and the promise that I’d be back, sooner rather than later!

A regular mini mart with a really good beer selection. Lots of imports and domestics that I’ve not seen may places. I didn’t get any beer when I visited so I can only give it three stars.
