I have been coming to this pain management center for over a year. I have multiple sclerosis and therefore have pain management issues. Now, do understand when you start at a pain management clinic and you sign a pain contract there are several hoops that you are going to have to jump through because all of the addicts out there have messed up the ability for people that actually need the pain medication to be able to get it easily. Here’s the deal, you be good and you play by the rules and you get your pain medication it’s as easy as that. My very first appointment, I met with Dr. Fiks. Now, mind you he’s not exactly the friendliest individual will you will ever meet but honestly I would never want to have these guys jobs for anything because they deal with a lot of bullshit and assholes. However, as he has grown to know me, he does even smile at me when I see him on my visits now. LOL I also see another lady there by the name of Bridgette. I’m not sure what her medical title is but she has been wonderful too. And, I have to mention Dr. Shore, I have seen him several times as well and everybody there has always been very nice to me. Everybody from the front desk all the way back to the meeting with the doctor through triage etc. it’s a pleasant experience. I hate when people give pain clinics a negative review when they are denied pain medications. Trust me, there’s a reason you are being denied. If you truly do need the medication and you’re willing to follow the rules, you will have no problems. I also broke my toe within the past two months and because of the toe break, compounded with the pain from the multiple sclerosis, of course when I’m in pain I lose my ability to be able to eat because I’m always nauseous and I lost 10 pounds going all the way down to 96 pounds which is not good. I met with Dr. Shore and he asked me how I was coping with the additional pain and I told him that I was eating ibuprofen like TicTac’s to get me through when I could not take my actual pain medication because I didn’t have enough. He told me I should’ve called them sooner and because I really do have a fractured toe and because I really do have pain issues for multiple sclerosis they did increase my pain medications which enabled me to gain back 10 very needed pounds. Overall, I love this entire staff they are a big part of my healthcare team!
