I was in need of some kosher meat, chicken, cheese, etc. Safeway, QFC, etc. do not sell that type of stuff. Trader joes has a limited supply of chicken on the bone and ground turkey. So I did my research and this Albertsons was said to have a lot of kosher products. Made my way over here and was not disappointed. The store is clean and organized. All the kosher sections were clearly labeled and easy to find. They have glatt kosher deli meats, cholov yisroel cheeses, ground beef, chicken breasts, and roasts. They have a big kosher freezer sections of prepared items such as chicken pot pies and they even have the famous rich’s whip, which everyone who makes parve desserts, knows is a useful ingredient. Mind you these items don’t come cheap, $ 16 for a bag of Dino chicken nuggets, $ 8.99 lb. for chicken breast. Prices aside if you are in need of kosher items this is the store for you!

5-star deli clerks, super efficient and friendly. Store remodeled and most Kosher, etc. no longer offered. For those, try the sister chain Safeway on Barbur. Clean, well organized store with easy in and out. Lots of competition nearby as noted but Walmart Neighborhood Market just closed. Pros: Location Hours Card free sales Growler station Cons: Pricing on some items Mixed interaction with staff Deli offerings and prepared food less diverse than competition

Basically this story is about a cashier that was painfully rude and disrespectful to me when I bought alcohol for the first time on my 21st birthday. When I went to this store on my 21st birthday, all I wanted to do wanted to do was to buy alcohol so I can experience legally drinking for the first time. I was just in the mood for one beer in a normal sized can/bottle, I didn’t want a six pack or a big can/bottle. So I asked a couple employees if it’s cool if I take one off a six pack and they said, «yeah that’s fine.» So I went and did so. When I went to the cashier to ring me up she was like, «One can… Off a six pack! Was it!??» She was getting REALLY obnoxious and belligerent about it. Just as I was about to say the the other sales reps said it was okay she cuts me off exclaiming, «8.40!!» All I wanted to do was buy alcohol for the first time and experience drinking and this cashier decided to be a fucking bitch and get all belligerent with me. That is so low and uncalled for.

Really nice for an Albertsons. Good selection across the board. Store layout is a bit confusing your first couple of visits but otherwise no complaints. It’s not a fun or enjoyable experience like at a Zuppans or New Seasons, nor is the level of service comparable, but the large box stores have their place. Store is clean and well lit, workers are pleasant. 3.5 stars rounded down.

Compared to the other grocery options around town, this Albertsons is a bit below par. The ambiance is gloomy — the polar opposite of a New Seasons. And despite all of the fliers I get in the mail, the prices were on the high end. While there was an ok variety of produce, the quality was iffy, across the board. Maybe it was just the day I was there, but they need to present their produce better. The gloomy atmosphere probably doesn’t help. The same gloominess carried over to the staff. Fred Meyer is a way better option.

Nice clean friendly neighborhood grocery store. A little spendy so why 4 out of 5. The pharmacy is in store and really helpful!

their prices are high most of the time. it’s hard to find stuff. they have some nice sales on beer and wine. they need U-Scan or self check out… lots of waiting at times, but can appreciate keeping checkers employed. friendly cashiers.

I used to go to this Albertsons as my primary grocery store. Then, they remodeled it. I hated it. They closed one of the entrances and forced everyone to go in and out one door. Hey, it rains here… all the parking is not convenient(except for all the handicapped spots) since the remodel. They took out all the window, hence all the natural light. I hate that. Now, I only go there if I have to. I go to the Burlingame Fred Meyers now and much prefer it.

As post SavOn apocalypse Albertsons store go, this is best one left in Oregon. Prices on meat and seafood are surprisingly good for the quality, but staples are much cheaper elsewhere. The Meat and Seafood quality are especially good(Including shellfish and pork in a Conservative Jewish neighborhood, go figure), but the produce is fairly close to what you’d get in Kroger or Safeway(which is meant to sound like faint praise). The quality of other items is fair to poor. Service is almost always good and frequently great. It’s not as good as what it was when it was still run out of Boise, but it’s not as bad as some of the other Albertsons locations around Portland. Selection is good as long as you’re eating Kosher, Halal, and Hispanic. Produce and the usual high margin delicatessen fare are decent. Staples, not as good. Once you include the standard 33% of the store that’s devoted to non-food items like lawn chairs and lottery tickets, chances are you’ll probably have to shop at another grocery store in order to get everything on your list.

If there was a winco closer to me, I would only go there. Albertson’s is okay if you only need to pick up a few things, but their prices in general are a little much. They usually have what I’m looking for and the staff is really friendly. My biggest complaint is that sometimes when I go into the back corner of the produce section it smells like old, rotting garbage. It’s so bad that I can’t stay back there long enough to get what I need… Otherwise, acceptable selection and cool employees.

First, I don’t really live anywhere near here… I did live somewhat close a few years back but not anymore. So why the heck would I like this place so much? Well, let me explain… This Albertsons should be a place for any of my heeb counterparts(yep, that’s Jewish of course) to stop in if they do live nearby. It’s the only place I’ve found in the Portland area(as far as supermarkets go) that has a kosher deli and a kosher bakery. They’ve gone so far as to have a full time mashgiach on staff(from what I’m told). It’s also fun to check out the traditional big ol’ bearded guys serve up my often very tasty deli foods with nets on their beards. One of my favorite stores to stop in for Pesach goods since I can’t find anything near home.

Recently remodeled, easy to navigate, light and open store. Small yet surprisingly well rounded wine section. Produce section is well stocked and fresh looking, and I’ve only once had them not have something I was looking for and they went into the backroom to get it for me while I shopped and had it at the register when I was done shopping. Great service and helpful staff. I’m now a convert — used to only shop Freddies before finding this great store. Other Info: Has Red Box location in front of store and propane tank exchange.

After undergoing a renovation in the last year or two, things seem to have picked up at this Albertson’s location. This used to be the closest(and least-expensive) grocery store around when I was a kid growing up. Now it seems that their prices are on par with New Seasons and their produce is on par with Safeway or Fred Meyer. In spite of higher prices and less-than-fantastic produce, the staff keeps me coming in when I need to get something quickly.
