Albina Community Bank

I have both personal and business accounts here. Really feels like a small community bank, the staff know their customers by name and go above and beyond with their customer service.

Very friendly. Never had a problem at this location… but this review is for Albina bank overall. This place is great no fees in almost the 5 years I’ve been with them. Once I over drafted my account and they didn’t charge me the fee. They have also waived money order and cashier check fees for me, just because everyone there is very very nice, you can even bring your dog inside.

This is a great bank. I’ve been with them for 3 years. Easy to work with and great service. And I love supporting my local community bank.

Not sure why these locations are broken out individually. I had such a bad experience I am posting on all the locations listed. Do not bank here. Unhelpful staff. I’m moving my $.

I had hoped to put my money into a community bank, but then the part about community fell through on their end.
There was a red mark against my name in the system. I went to my previous bank (a big bad guy {Bank of America} which also has a location in St. Johns) to clear it up. To see if there was a debt that needed clearing or what the issue was. I had a situation where my money was hijacked via a loved one and my account had been overdrawn well over 3 years ago. I had long ago settled the overdrawn amount and made amends with the bank. This was not good enough for Albina. I needed proof. I then requested paperwork or a contact to act as a liaison to that proof. Nope, not good enough. I had the agency that had removed the issue and the bank where I had «sullied my good name» through both saying it was past and long forgiven. On my fourth visit… and a lot of talking with the brick-​wall they call customer service (the window personnel seemed nice — I’ll never know for sure now) I discovered that not only did I do everything he had suggested but was denied at the end of the whole jumping through hoops and left with feeling like he made a misguided personal judgment rather than follow any procedure that would seem to be customer oriented. I would rather he spat on my account paperwork in the first visit than to have been played around with.
For no BS and great customer service I recommend US Bank. It has been a year now with them. Nothing overdrawn, I haven’t hatched a plan to take it down one paycheck at a time and I’m saving to launch a business. I’m proud to say that maybe Community is the PEOPLE and not at all the institution.
