All The Best Wedding DJs

BUYER BEWARE — THIS VENDOR IS SUSPICIOUS
We booked this Karaōke DJ in MAY of 2015 for an event in SEPTEMBER of 2015.
We paid a deposit of $ 200 through paypal
Today — 10 days before the event — the DJ cancelled. He emailed to say «Oh no! I am not available on the 5^th. I thought this was for the 6^th?! Please give me an address to send the deposit back to you. I am very sorry for the confusion!» (direct quote from email)
And then when we pursued him for the deposit — he refused to return it.
Again — we booked him for a WEDDING event — we booked him THREE MONTHS in advance — we paid a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR DEPOSIT. And then he cancelled 10 days before — and REFUSED to return our deposit.
This is how we found out he was cancelling:
I emailed him last night to confirm the booking and ask where he wanted me to send the remainder of his fee. He responded with the above quote (and yell all of the emails are going to paypal and to the better business bureau) saying he is not available on the date we secured THREE MONTHS AGO. So I freaked out and began calling and emailing him frantically trying to find out what is going on. (Again, note, this is for our wedding and we have 150 people coming. This is our Karaōke rehearsal dinner.) Sean would not answer his phone. He actually emailed to say «Stop calling me.» In the meantime, I contacted our wedding planner and told her to find a karaōke DJ ASAP. She did, and because the event is only 10 days away — we had to pay in full up front. The new DJ is $ 895. (Sean was supposed to be $ 450 total). So then I am emailing with Sean saying «please contact me — please return our deposit.» And then suddenly (FIVE hours after cancelling) he says he «may have a replacement — his friend who will use his equipment.» But it’s too late — we already found and paid for a last minute save. I just ask for my deposit back.
And Sean then says «oh well I offered you a replacement in 10 minutes so I’m keeping your deposit.» NOTE: 5 hours is not 10 minutes. And when you CANCEL and say «Ill send your deposit back» that kinda means you’re cancelling.
This guy is totally shady and fraudulent and we are working to have him kicked off
, and to be marked as a fraudulent vendor on paypal.
BUYER BEWARE — this is a potentially FRAUDULENT VENDOR.
