Had the Meat Fleet salad; a gyro w/o the flatbread. Wonderful! If you add the pita bread on the side, pretty much have the gyro that you can eat with a fork instead of your hands. You have a choice of two sizes. The place is super clean and tidy, nothing fancy. Great friendly staff. They could use a few more tables but have adequate counter eating.

The best gyros in Portland. Tender lamb, chicken, and excellent falafel. The chicken especially is amazing. The veggies in the gyros are super fresh — one of the key things that set these apart from other places.

So delicious. I wish it was a bit cheaper since it’s so close to work and easy to run over to for a quick lunch, but the chicken gyro is so delicious. It’s all I’ve ever had, but I love it! I love that they fresh brew and steep their iced tea, too. And the staff is great.

A great meal awaits you at Angelina’s. It is in the bubble gum blue Wild West-style building near light rail. Plenty of Greek staples such as gyros and even their own modifications such as supposed food boats are served. Very atypical for the United States, they operate as a gyro place without offering fries. Plenty of seating is there and they are known for offering their fare at the Portland Saturday Market. It was a high tide pleasure to enter. Their staff are friendly and I got a ten percent student discount. For nine and a half dollars with that in mind, I got a beef gyro and a can of Doctor Pepper. It came in a few minutes. There was plenty of meat and feta, and also the usual tzatziki sauce. I’ve had gyros with a bit more meat and a bit more sauce, but it was fairly sufficient and the flavor was distinctly Greek. The cream and the feta had a moderate, yet pronounced accent. I’ve had better gyros, but this is great. The charm of this place cannot be understated.

First time… and very very good. Will definitely go back, again and again. Yes, the hours are odd but seems everything closes early in this area. Sadly, because of the hours, my husband wouldn’t be able to try this place… he would have to take time off from work! LOL! Hey.I get to enjoy it.

Small menu and limited hours, but expertly made gyros(say: «yuh-rose») on superb flat pita are worth a visit. Or two. Or more. Grab a window seat for people-watching opportunities on the MAX line. And try the Logan berry juice or tea.

Just popped in to look at the menu. Never have been before. The restaurant is super clean and the people they have working were smiling and friendly. That is why I stayed and ordered a skinny gyro. It was delicous. The flatbread was grilled, which I have never had before with a gyro. The sauce was not overpowering nor was the onions. I will go back for sure.

This is my new favorite. The gyro was the best I have had. Outstanding tasting sauce, big slices of cucumber with lots of meat. The pita is warm and tastes like it was just made. Kind of industrial looking place inside but food is outstanding.

We wrote this place off because the hours of operations said it was closed on Mondays. Walking around town we saw a gyro restaurant and thought, well it’s not the one we initially wanted… but it’ll do. SURPRISE… it was the one we wanted… Unilocal was wrong… Woohoo. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They explained ingredients and stuff very well too. We found a seat by the grilling are, kinda neat to see the girl make our food. The girl I just mentioned was Angelina… COOLIO! She was very nice and friendly. We chit chatted about the previous business that occupied this location prior(which was neat). Talked about the neighborhood and how it evolved too. The food was excellent, fresh and very good. We were enjoying our meal and Angelina asked if we like spicy food. BAM! She hands us a small container of homemade hot sauce. WOW… this stuff was good. All and all, I highly recommend this place for an excellent meal or snack.

What a remarkable dining experience! I had the beef and lamb gyro… served on a perfectly grilled pita which was nicely crispy on the outside, warm and chewy inside. It was stuffed full of deliciously hot and moist beef and lamb. The vegetables were so fresh and crisp I was tempted to look outside for the garden. Ask for the spicy sauce… woo hoo! Angelina was so friendly and accommodating. She runs a classy place! Oh yes… they AREOPEN on Mondays.

Basically, Angelina’s creates the gyro that once only existed in Plato’s Heaven. Somehow, this archetype of all gyros was smuggled into the World of Forms and if I have to live chained to the wall of the cave, so be it, just keep feeding me Angelina’s beef n’ lamb! Make sure to always splurge and throw down the $ 1.50 to get«the works». The lines are often long and the space crowded at lunch time but they move people through at a good clip and are timely with getting you your order. The staff is always friendly and polite and they do a great job of keeping the place clean and tidy. Does. Not. Get. Better.

A bit inconsistent with the dryness of the meat sometimes too much and the tzatziki was basically ranch dressing. We love the wheel of meat. The flatbread is awesome too, they heat it on a flat top grill or something.

Best Gyro ever. Gluten free falafel waffles and great Greek salad for my wife. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. This is a place that is run from the heart and will warm the belly. Come back and come back often! No wonder it has grown from the market to the store. My only complaint is that I don’t live closer. PS. Best seat is at the table saw, it has a history and great part in the restaurant.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised when I gave Angelina’s a shot today. I have passed it many times before but due to not looking promising from the outside I never had the desire to give them a try, especially since I am very picky when it comes to Gyros having grown up in Europe. I ended up ordering the lamb/beef Gyro pita wrap and it tasted great! The presentation is top notch and looks very inviting. The meat itself is very well seasoned and blends in together perfectly with the lettuce, tomato and pickle and Zaziki sauce wrapped in pita bread. The restaurant itself looked very clean and inviting in addition to everyone being super friendly. Give this place a shot! You won’t regret it!

This place is consistently delicious and bonus: the small salad often accidentally turns into the large salad. Tasty WIN.

Remember that TV series from the late 90’s with the«Masked Magician» who would expose the greatest secrets of magicians? Sure you do! Well, I’m about to drop some similar knowledge on your cerebral cortex as it relates to Angelina’s… Shortly after this joint opened, my significantly better half and I noticed we were coming here a lot! A lot a lot. And it really was one of those things that you surprisingly«notice.» Like, every day we’d blackout for lunch, seemingly unaware of where we went. Then one day, we walk into Angelina’s and they know our names and what we’re going to order and you have that epiphany moment that says«Holy crap! We’ve been coming here a lot a lot!» So it got me thinking; «why have we been coming here so much?» Could it be the incredibly tasty chicken and lamb, whether placed atop a delightfully fresh salad, or just slapped in a bowl and called a freakin’ MEATYACHT?(queue Andy Samberg and T-Pain) Or the ridiculously awesome toasted handmade pita? The exceptionally friendly and helpful staff perhaps? NOPE! The answer is… unicorn sweat. UNICORNSWEAT! See, Angelina’s Greek Gyros shares a restroom with other businesses in the building. That restroom is in the back of a labyrinthine hallway structure in the middle of the building(don’t forget to say hi to Jareth when you try and find it). To my surprise one day, both of the restrooms were in use. It’s at this point that I noticed a third door off to my right, which had a bit of a sparkling glimmer to it, not unlike that Twilight kid that twinkled in the sunlight. I seriously had to go, so I barged in to the magical door only to find a stable of 20 unicorns doing push-ups and a host of elves collecting their resulting sweat into buckets that appeared to be made out of hollowed out diamonds the size of your head! So there you have it. The mysteries of Angelina’s exposed for all! I wont call PETA if you wont.

WHAT? Why have I been wasting my time with sorry excuses for gryos my whole life?! The. Best. Gyro. Ever. I really shouldn’t have to say more, but I will because I can’t shut up. I dream about these. I have withdrawals on Mondays when they are closed. But not just gyros — shout out to the bean bowl, meat boat and greek salad too! Heyyyyyyyyyyy!

Best Gyros on the west coast! We have been coming to Angelina’s at the Saturday Market for the past few years since we first discovered it. We have been in search of good Gyros where ever we travel. The best so far was a street vendor in Paris and Petros Restaurant in Greek Town Chicago. Both are long gone. But getting back to Angelina’s we kept asking the people at the Saturday market. «when are you going to open a real restaurant so that we can go during the week». I think they opened this early this year and we finally got to go today. Its a cozy place near the riverfront. Service was friendly and fast. And the Gyros were EXCELLENT! I think what sets them apart is a nice spicy beef/lamb gyro meat. You can get it spicier too. Lots of fresh onions and sliced cherry tomatoes and lettuce with a tasty sauce. You can also get it with feta cheese and or cucumbers. And… the serve it with a heated pita. That makes them unique and the Gyros good! So we will be back!
