1. The baristas are kick ass. Especially B. She lights up the entire shop and her coffee is killer. Plus, she hella cute with those dreadies and grin. 2. The shop is dirty. Not like filthy, but like… let’s do a deep clean and bleach the world dirty. 3. The food is tasty. Cause again… the baristas are kick ass. And the kitchen people, especially Raven, are considerate and take the time to please us all. Thanks guys. 4. Coffee is stellar. Listen to the baristas and they’ll delight your tastebuds. 5. The art is fun. All in all, this is a cute Portland joint.

The food was decent, my Mother had a good bagel and the coffee is excellent. But we had gotten our order in right before a big rush came in, and I’m pretty sure there were only two people working the kitchen including the register. We ended up waiting 10 minutes maybe more for my scramble to come out, the eggs were overcooked and watery at the bottom of the plate. I know it was just a bad day, but I do hope their staffing got better. I would still recommend especially on a quiet morning!

First of all, the smell. OMG, what the hell is growing in there?! I’ve lived in the hood for years and finally decided to give them a shot last week. Really wish I could get my time and money back. Coffee is not good. Like at all. But the smell… I can’t get over it. Mold, mildew, must, body odor, it’s all bad. I can’t go back.

Definitely my favorite café in St Johns– its the perfect place to chill with a computer or meet a friend or grab breakfast before a long day! The pastries and bagel sandwiches are delicious. I feel as though I’ve been searching for a place like this for a long time and the comfy couches welcome you right in for a relaxed chat or workflow. The baristas are super nice and especially the guy who works the evenings when I’ve been there is nice, conversational and cute! I would recommend this place for sure– happy to have found such a great spot in my new neighborhood!

I stayed in St. Johns for a week recently, and I developed a strange attachment to this place. I’ve been for an evening drink, an early breakfast, and just for a coffee. The staff was exceedingly accommodating and the food and drinks were a solid 5 stars every single time. Come to think of it, this is probably my favorite place in St. Johns!

We heard back from the managers this afternoon, who apologized for the newbie barista who didn’t know what an ice tea was. They, like me, were surprised anyone would need training on this and they’ve taken care of it. We’ve ungraded our rating to A-OK because the venue was inviting and the crew was really nice.

A little bit of everything. Coffee, tea, beer, fruit smoothies with chocolate and coffee, mate tea with lemonade(bitter, but i feel healthier already) and books to read. There’s a kids’ play area too. Not to mention meal items! Thumbs down on the music selection though. But I’ve only been here once.

Stayed at the Inn at Northrup Station next door for three nights and last morning found this gem in the neighborhood. I ordered the south of the border omelette with avocado and bagel with their chowder and Anna banana smoothie. I was in heaven! The best meal in all those days. Everything was fresh, healthy, hearty and delicious. The owner and guy who worked there were a pleasure to chat with. Jeffery the dog was adorable and my baby loved him! Wished I’d found this place earlier but will return when we’re back in town.

This place will make you feel at home. Its dingy and dirty and hardly kept. Everything is raggedy. There is mix match furniture. It smells like buttery paper. Regular coffee is 2 to 2.25 a cup. 25 cents is a 4 ounce difference. 13 sitting patrons at 1:36 pm wedsnesday. It looks tidy and like business would make Anna Bananas zoo like. The coolest spot here is the little castle area for children.

They have a wide variety of breakfast items and drinks. I’m a creature of habit so went the Americano route and had a bagel with cheese, egg and sausage. The food was good and the eggs were real not something that was frozen and microwaved. The coffee was good and drinkable right seat which was awesome. Great Portland vibe inside! I’ll be back.

Yummy mimosas! Friendly wait staff and a cozy area to sit while your kids play with the many castles and make believe toys in the play area! There is exposed brick on the wall next to the seating and chairs tucked in every corner. Definitely coming back with the little ones!

We picked up some coffee to go from here. The inside of the café is super cute and well decorated. They also have a small outside patio where you can enjoy your coffee. My cappuccino was perfect, just the way I like it, a little creamy and very smooth. We also got tips on what to check out in the St. John’s area from the barista. Overall great service and great coffee :)

4.5 stars. Stopped in here to wait for the movie to start at the cinema next door. Nice café to chill with friends. I can only speak of the coffee since I didn’t get food. I got their signature Anna Banana and it tasted alright. Nothing fancy. It seems most of the negative reviews are about slow response time, which I didn’t experience since it was pretty empty at 7:30pm.

This was my first visit to Anna Bannana. The lunch crowd is healthy and the establishment had a low buzz. I luckily ran into someone I know from a local business who could make a recommendation. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly. She kept things moving while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. I ordered a Bacon, Brie, and Pesto Hand Pie and an enormous Sugar Free Chocolate Latte. The latte was really good but enormous is a stretch. This order was placed to go. I do have to say that me wait exceeded 15 minutes and still counting. A shorter turn time at lunch would be great. If you are in a rush, this might not be your place. Hand pie had a great crust but was a little light on filling. For $ 10.20, value is not a strong point. I do like the atmosphere. It definitely feels #Portland and that isn’t a bad thing. From the eclectic decoration to Tom Waitt playing was great and relaxing.

Great spot to get a cup of coffee and use the internet for a bit. Lots of vegan pastry options, sandwiches, juices and some wine offerings. Tons of seating, so great spot to meet up with a friend and work on a project, or just people watch.

I will admit that the funky music drew me in. Anna Bannanas is basically an artsy coffee shop with a small kitchen for sandwiches and burgers. It has a very eclectic atmosphere and local art gracing the brick wall. AB is very Portland. It was my first visit to the St Johns area of Portland and a really nice day to explore. I already made my trip over the bridge and it was time to wander the downtown area. St Johns has a small town feel to it. It’s different than Buckman where I live. Some bars, a local theater and grocery store, gelato and several other interesting places. Back to Anna Bananas, the food. Totally Worth having lunch here. The special was a Hawaiian panini with either salad or chips. I went with the salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh mixed greens with red onion, cherry tomatoes and fresh dill. Nice touch. The panini had smoked ham, pineapple, red onions, Swiss cheese and bbq sauce. It was very well balanced, nothing overpowered each other. I washed it all down with some limeade. AB is a great little spot to take a rest and enjoy a good meal. Go enjoy some good food.
