Ashiyu

A fantastic escape from all the hustle and bustle of life. I’ve been here several times to relax in the infrared sauna. Today, I came in with a pounding headache and it simply melted as I steamed it out. The owners are very kind, I definitely recommend!

I love visiting Ashiyu! Their infrared sauna is new, beautiful, and in it’s own private room, so you can relax and take your time. If you’re looking for a relaxing way to end your work day (especially in the cold, rainy season), call them and book a sauna session on your way home.
It takes about 15 minutes for the sauna to heat up, so I like to come in a little early to have tea and do a foot soak. This is also a great place to visit with a few girlfriends for a foot soak and reflexology session (it’s actually really affordable to book the spa room for up to 6 people).

I was in town for work and had a few hours to see Portland. I booked an appt here, a little wary at first b/​c there weren’t a lot of recent Unilocal reviews but I’m so glad I did! I enjoyed sitting outside for the foot soak prior to the appt. It was a nice way to get relaxed and start the session vs coming in and immediately getting the massage. Joe is a wonderful reflexologist and I left the 60 min appt feeling extremely relaxed, destressed and any tension in my feet were gone. I wish Joe lived in my state so I could use his services again! The price is also really good too. I highly recommend going here for your next reflexology appt.

This place is too much fun. The foot soak should definitely be done on a regular basis. Joe is a fabulous reflexologist and I love that they incorporate essential oils. I’m bringing my family here for a girls day and also plan on bringing my running friends here for a summer soak outside on their patio.

While visiting my best girlfriend in Portland, we headed over to Ashiyu one afternoon for a fabulous foot soak and amazing reflexology massage. What a perfect way to treat yourself and your tired tootsies! Carolyn was so sweet and her technique was heavenly. Highly recommend!

We went here after purchasing a spawish groupon and they were on the list of options who accept the certificate. We went on a Sunday which says its by appointment only. They told us to come in no problem. We arrived and were taken back to the foot soaking area immediately. They foot spas were great and we drank yummy tea and some sort of special froo froo water (tasted like regular water to me!)…here comes the not so great part. They definitely have NO idea how to run their appointments smoothly. After the foot soak they took my mother into the reflexology portion and then I sat with my feet outside of the tub for a good 15 minutes before the lady up front told me the room was available for me to use the massage bed, which was very uncomfortable for me even on the low setting. They had a sauna which we didnt use, some sort of vibrating weight loss machine which we also didn’t use. I went to my reflexology portion of the appointment and it was by far the best part (I also had the gentleman with red hair, whose name I never got) he was very excellent. I just had to endure the other annoying foot lady who was doing a gentleman next to me who talked the entire time like I wasn’t even there! The room was very small with only two chairs and needed more privacy so I wasn’t sitting next to a stranger of the opposite sex while I was trying to tone out the lady with crazy hair. If it weren’t for the great foot spa, awesome foot rub from red haired gentleman and yummy tea this place would get 1 star. we won’t be back but fun to try something very «Portland»

Hello! I’ve found heaven! How did it take this long? A nice quiet spot to soak feet and relax! The entire places just makes me want to take a nap, it’s so blissful! Carolyn is an incredible reflexologist and really releases your tight foot muscles. It’s pain and pleasure all in one. :-) worth every penny!

I just walked out of here a new person! I will definitely be back for another foot reflexology session and I would request the gentleman (who’s name I didn’t get but he has red hair) He was amazing. Super gentle massage with a lot of strong depth as well. You start off in their back room soaking your feet in their custom foot soak hot tubs– full of stones and with jets! Then you go to the massage room for the treatment. This place is little pricier than some of the walk-​in spots and you for sure should call ahead but they got two us in for an hour each with 20 minutes notice. Love it here.

Such a treat. My girlfriend and I keep finding ourselves back here for a wonderful relaxing reflexology treatment. The staff is fun and sincere, and very good at what they do.
Spend a half hour with your feet in their custom made foot pools and begin to relax and let go. by time you dry your feet off, walk into the treatment room and sink back into one of their gravity chairs you’ll already be in relaxation heaven, but as soon as Ashiyu’s practitioners hands start working on your feet, you’ll find you are able to go so much deeper into your relaxed state!
The best part is that you will feel great for hours after your session.

This is a wonderful experience to treat yourself to AND to share with other friends. They have custom-​made foot spas that can fit a small group! The water is set at a perfect 104 degrees. We were treated to tasty, nurturing alkaline water and herbal teas while soaking.
The reflexology session sets you up in these reclining chairs that tilt you up ergonomically to the therapist, which also made it so easy to surrender into complete relaxation, as my pressure points were addressed with the perfect touch — not too painful or ticklish, just right. Very relieving experience.
We walked out of there completely happy with the ambiance, services, and the value, This is such a therapeutic and enjoyable treat that everyone can benefit from. GO!
