I was fortunate enough to have my first structural integration massage with Serena Scaglione this evening. I feel like I’ve been calmly and slowly reborn into my body, and I’m so ready to begin this journey of nourishing the mind/body/spirit. #gratitude Several months and several massages later… Bodywork with Serena has become a very personal and very integral part of my well-being and self care. She is extremely knowledgeable about the anatomy and connectivity of the human body and the very deeply understands the connection between physical health and mental, emotional, interpersonal well-being. As a family doctor, I have been thoroughly impressed by her work with me, and she has taught me so much more, beyond my medical training, about how to care for the body and for the self. From a medical perspective and from personal experience, I really believe she is one of the best massage therapists, body workers, and healers in Portland. Be good to the form you inhabit; spend time with this healer.

I can’t speak highly enough of Serena’s practice. I found her to be knowledgeable, present, and skilled. She had confidence working with my chronically painful injured wrist, and 1 day later my wrist feels great. I’ll be scheduling another session to target this injury specifically. She also did some structural integration work with my back and pecs, which I found to be very therapeutic and helpful with my posture and back pain. Thanks Serena!

Serena has become a tremendously talented bodyworker. I consider myself a massage and bodywork connoisseur, and she is definitely my favorite bodyworker that I’ve received from recently. I really appreciate the modality she is working with — specifically somassage — it’s very deep and effective as a therapeutic modality, but it also really allows you to drop deeply into stillness and relax. It’s not overwhelming with the amount of intensity, and yet it also really shifted things in some of chronic muscular-skeletal patterns… and put me into a sublime altered state of deep relaxation. I loved my session and am looking forward to more!

I went to Serena for a Structural Integration session. …and whoaaaa, did it release a lot of stuff in my body! Feeling the difference before and after the work was amazing. I felt so much taller from finally having some separation between my vertebrae, and my neck felt like it was where it was supposed to be. After my concussion about a year and a half ago, it has been very important for me to find a bodyworker who can be sensitive to the needs of my spine. One of the most powerful moments was when Serena was massaging my sternum and opening up the front of my chest. I felt a huge emotional release and realized I was holding so much old energy there, and it had been causing my shoulders to curve inward. It was an amazing session, and I definitely plan to look into the whole series.

Serena is one of the greatest gifts and inspiring teachers I’ve ever known. I met her through Acro Yoga classes she teaches last year and since then I’ve learned how to be a better communicator, leader and teacher. As a movement artist and aspiring teacher I need the type of support, wisdom and healthy living guidance she has to offer. Serena’s classes leave me feeling capable of strengths I never imagined. Strengths within my heart and physical abilities. I’m always fulfilled and yet eager to learn more. When Serena worked her structural integration on my shoulder’s there was an immediate noticeable change. Not only did my shoulders look more even; I felt more balance from the inside out. I highly recommend her services to anyone who can appreciate her gift of holistic mind and body work.

I am so happy when I find a bodyworker who has the intuitive touch. Serena’s got it. She works with presence and just the right amount of good solid pressure. I received structural integration from her and I really felt places in my body as they were able to release and unwind, especially where I was experiencing pain in my neck and shoulders. I can’t wait to go back and receive more structural integration, or perhaps I will try a Thai yoga massage! Serena is a woman of many talents — a licensed massage therapist, an acroYogi, a Thai massage therapist, a hoop dance instructor, and a structural integration practitioner. She really knows the human body well! And it is so cool how she integrates all of her experience with movement into the hands-on techniques. I am so lucky to be able to receive work from her! And I highly recommend her to anyone seeking deep, present bodywork.
