Battery X-Change

After one week away for vacation, car won’t start, took the battery out to local autozone and les schawb, both said the battery was shot. Not convinced since my car is only 2 years old, took it to Battery X– change on Belmont, the manager there tested the battery and said it’s still ok and only needed to be charge over night, picked it up next morning and put in the car and started right up. Cost me $ 5 for charging instead of $ 110 for new battery. Thanks for knowledgeable and honest technician (manager) at Battery X– change. I will go back and highly recommended.

Thanks to these amazing techs i was able to find out my alternator was broken AGAIN even though i just replaced it 6 months ago (thanks O’Reilly’s). Although I made a bad decision by trusting the big-​box-​car-​parts stores I humbly suggest YOU DON’T DO THE SAME! just go to these specialist for your Alternator /​Battery needs. These people KNOW what they are talking about, they WON’T LIE, and they charged me so little for all their knowledge and wisdom i literally had to BEG the guy to double charge me for his time and service (which he still didn’t).
Point is don’t trust the minimum wage puppets who don’t know the difference between an AMP and a WATT… just save yourself all the headaches with the «lifetime warranty» on sup-​part parts I have had and go to Battery X-​change.

I was recommended to this place from a friend, and I will continue to pass the nice word along. If you ever have any battery troubles this is the place to go! This place went above and beyond to satisfy me as a customer. Not only did I push closing time on them the night I was having battery trouble (and were still more than happy to oblige), but when I had explained how I didn’t want to leave my car overnight after a long day of international traveling, he offered to lone me a battery so I could drive home whilst he charged my battery overnight, and come back in the morning, took him like 5 minutes to get it done and it only cost me $ 5. Basically he saved me $ 80+ by just being an awesome nice guy! Any other shop would have convinced me I needed a new battery.

We were on a road trip in Oregon, and as we rolled into Portland, warning lights and bells sounded on the dash. There was even a message: «ALTERNATOR WORKSHOP!» Alarmed, we were debating what to do when we saw the Northwest Battery Supply and pulled in. A quick diagnostic revealed some wonky alternator activity, and the technician referred us to the Battery X-​change, very nearby, and explained how to get there.
When we pulled up, Bill was expecting us and had a spot marked off for us and the testing equipment ready. We watched the monitor, which revealed an alternator teetering on the edge of failure. Not what we wanted to hear on a road trip! He explained the work he’d have to do (pull out the front end, replace the alternator, put everything back) and gave us an estimate. We took a moment to debate… and quietly called our mechanic in San Francisco, who gave us a significantly higher estimate for the same work. We left the car with Bill and arranged to get it the next day.
The next day, Bill called to tell us it was ready, a bit ahead of schedule. We picked it up at the end of the day, and his estimate had been right on the mark. The car’s been running great since!
We were so happy to have stumbled upon just the right shop for our situation. They were quick, reasonably priced, and took the stress out of a stressful situation so we could enjoy the rest of our trip. Thank you, Bill!

Beyond doubt, these guys provide a superior service: professional, fast and straight to the point. David is great — he definitely walks an extra mile to diagnose the problem and to get you the right solution at the right price. Super friendly place — they totally rock! Highly recommended!

I had a great experience with these guys. They were quick and helpful, While I was there another guy pulled up and wanted them to recharge his battery… but needed to park the car overnight. They helped him push it to a space. The guy charged me less than the price he originally quoted me, when he saw the battery was less expensive than he remembered. My take was that it’s an honest, no-​nonsense kind of place.
By the by, I think the correct name of the business is Battery X-​Change.

Cheap battery. It has a 5 year warranty and lasted one year one month. The guy was such a jerk I didn’t feel like going back to argue with him, and I certainly did not feel like getting another battery that would die in a year. I can’t keep going back for replacements — I’m busy. I wanted a good battery. So I bought a better one and chalked up my purchase as stupid. Don’t go here.

Great place for batteries they have a market price but with staff that know what they are doing and treat customers nicely.

Brutal — incompetent twits. Claimed to know more than «all the other battery places» about replacing the batteries on late-​model Volvos — «when they’re not careful, they end up damaging the electrical system». So me apparently being an idiot I believed them, and let these jokers make the switch. Once I got the car home, I noticed the entire HVAC and entertainment panel was no longer working. My Volvo dealer later reported that whoever replaced the battery hooked things back up wrong, and shorted out the whole module. $ 800 cost to fix. Don’t let these guys near your car unless you have more money than brains (a lesson I’ll never forget).
