Baxter Auto Parts

Amazing customer service. My starter went out and they made a special trip to the warehouse and let me barrow tools to replace it in the parking lot.
I can call napa and car quest and neither will have a part in stock or readily available. I call Baxter and they have it ready in two hours.
All of the staff have been extremely helpfull and knowlgable and gone above and beyond. If I lived closer I would only buy from this shop.

Wow terrible. I waited 5 mins just for someone to notice I was there. Finally the guy came out from the back. I couldn’t understand a word he said because he had a huge dip in his mouth. I left without buying anything.

It’s an auto parts store what can I say. Prices are ok but generally Napa and auto zone are better so we don’t go here much. I guess if you are in a pinch and need something quick and don’t mind spending more and don’t want to go to Napa or auto zone instead this is the place you’d end up.

These folks really deserve a boost in their ratings here. I live nearby and popped in the other day because one of my brake lights was out. One of the guys came out from behind the counter to help me locate the correct one. Unlike a lot of parts stores I’ve been to in the past, I didn’t even have to ask! Another guy rang me up and he was very friendly as well. Now that I know, I’ll go there a lot more. Keep up the good work and thanks!
Update: I’m downgrading my original rating because, although I had a good experience last year, my girlfriend went in a few days ago and was a.) repeatedly ignored and b.) sold the wrong item (which she then had to exchange). I don’t want to even begin to speculate why I received stellar service and she did not…

Baxter’s really seems to have stepped it up in the past year or two by hiring a great group of people that seem to genuinely care about taking care of their customers. In the past I avoided going in here as it always seemed hard to grab someone’s attention, but I’m happy to report that is no longer a problem. The guys working here are glad to help, best of all they’re into cars, so if you need a specialty part they’ll gladly pour over numerous catalogs to help you find just the item you need.
Though their prices on mundane maintenance items can run a bit higher than average, it’s their ability to order any number of aftermarket parts that separates Baxter’s from the rest of the pack. I was stoked to find that they could get me a set of upgraded motor mounts for my Mustang; not only for less than the big mail-​order companies, but faster too. And all from a store right in my own neighborhood. Score one for the little guy!

Midwinter, and the streets of St. Johns are filled with happy sledders and snow-​ballers, a few hardy but nervous-​looking (or merely desperate) drivers, and piles and piles of perfect snow. Loaves of it slide like cake icing down the windshield every time the hubby brakes to a sliding halt, as we make our careful way to the local auto supply store.
The twenty-​something guy behind the counter is clearly overwhelmed by the massive demand for tire chains. He fields something like 4 calls in between explaining to me and two other people that they have no more chains of the size we require, as the truck bearing the merchandise isn’t able to get through to St. Johns. (We’re used to this explanation, by now. St. Johns has been an island for 2 weeks, at this point.) He tells me that the best way to get what we need would be to leave a phone number… then he gets distracted by the fire-​rescue workers on ATVs in the parking lot, and fails to ask me for the number. The hubby gets on the phone and discovers that Napa auto parts, down the street, not only has what we’ll need to make it to the airport the next morning, but they’ll put aside a set for us.
