Good bento the owner is not friendly at all but the lady who works the counter is the best so she makes up for her… Good solid bento, great spicy chicken ramen and great prices, I eat here prob twice a week for lunch. Prob one of the best in town to be honest

The food is great with reasonable prices. However the young asian lady at the counter was quite rude.

I have been frequenting Bentoz as my go to teriyaki place for over a year now– the chicken teriyaki can’t be beaten! The staff are very friendly.

I love this place. I have been living in the area all my life and I can’t believe I just discovered it this last year. The food is amazing and the owner is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. Truly an amazing business. If you want a tasty meal for a great price go check this place out!

Took another Unilocal member’s suggestion and ordered the Spicy and Teriyaki Chicken together, but was charged an extra $ 1.00 for the trouble, and then shorted on the rice. Also, the«spicy» was sweeter than Ma Ploi, and that’s some chili flake syrup. I’ll not be back.

Wow this place surprised me. In kind of a weird spot off of Barbur blvd not exactly the cleanest place but the food is excellent. I recommend the lunch special during the week from 11 – 2.

The best place on barbur to grab some to-go grubs. Fast service and the food is super bomb. Get half spicy chicken and half teriyaki. It’s the best of both worlds(:

Very good bento. I like the chicken teriyaki best with gyoza. They have a good lunch special.

This is a Japanese bento style place with a Korean angle as you can also get bi bim bop and other Korean treats here. My biggest issue is it seemed that the yakisoba was the only option to get some vegetables with my bento which is important to me. The quality was decent and the prices fair but so far I’m not a huge fan and would much rather get a lunch special at a regular restaurant. I’ll come back though and report in if my opinion changes.

I got the spicy chicken and sub chicken fried rice for the white rice. It was much better than I expected(though I wished it had been slightly More spicy). The CFR was the best I have ever had, better than any sit down restaurant. I’ll definitely be back. I recommend just getting this for take out. Interior is a little grungy and I wouldn’t really want to eat there.

I always get the chicken yakisoba, the best thing in my opinion. Good amount of food for the price and I don’t have to wait long. It’s a small place, parking is weird. I prefer to do take out, but it’s fine to eat there, it’s decent.

I love this place! The actual restaurant is pretty small and I wouldn’t want to eat here, but it is great for takeout. The service is extremely fast and the food is good. I usually get chicken yakisoba and the portions are very good for the price.

Been Eating here for years, had my first bad meal yesterday. Price went up, quantity of food went down. This would have been fine with me, but the quality was not there either. Must have changed owners or cooks. will not eat there again, might try it again in a couple of weeks, just to see if they were having a bad day. Interested in comments from other regulars. Am I over reacting? this used to be my favorite place, going to miss it.

Ehh this place was average. Nothing to write about honestly. The chicken teriyaki was decent. But I came w no veggies besides a small sauce cup of cabbage. And for 6 bucks that’s not really worth it. Came once and that’s enough for me.

Been going here since High School. One of the best in the city. I would eat here today if I were you.

This is literally my favorite place to eat. Their spicy chicken special [spicy chicken+rice+gyoza] is amazing: not too hot *just* flavorful heat and the gyoza. I can’t really describe, but they’re incredible. Again, literally I came by every day some weeks when I was going to PCC Sylvania. The owner is awesome, she even wondered what happened to me when I didn’t show up one week [awww ^_^] I have NEVER been let down at Bentoz.

This isn’t yer high class joint folks. You’re not gonna be bumping into yuppies, guppies or $chluppies here. What you get is almost street-vendor-like simple fare on the cheap. The best things here(imho) are the teriyaki chicken and the pot stickers. They do offer California rolls but a word to sushi afficionados: Steer clear. It’s a roll that’s one step above the ol’ grocery store sushi rolls. The Teriyaki Chicken Bento is enough food for 2 especially if you upgrade to add the 2 gyoza. They serve a little sweet pickled greens that I think is made of chinese cabbage? It’s kinda good. Here’s why Bentoz gets 4 stars from me: — In the 2+ years I have been occasionally stopping here for random quick bites they’ve been consistent. The food has remained good. — The food never takes long to arrive — The price is really stellar(and has only gone up in price very little over the years) — Polite staff(I am pretty sure the owner is the one behind the counter. She’s got good perky/peppy moments and not so perky but always polite)

I hate to do this because the food is still good and cheap… but…there is no heat in this place. I went there today and froze. It’s not the first time. I asked the owner what was wrong and she said the heat is sucked out by the cooking vents. I suspect she’s just being cheap, nothing a couple of well-place electric heaters couldn’t solve. Is it to much to ask for a few degrees of comfort on my lunch break?

If you are looking for quick Teriyaki for a relatively cheap price this is the place. I recommend the chicken teriyaki and the yakisoba. The chicken teriyaki comes with steamed rice,(deli-sh,) and pickled cabbage. It’s very tasty and affordable. They accept credit and debit. I could eat here every day of the week!

Okay, I’m missing what the heck Bento is. I feel like it’s just regular Chinese or Japanese food — I didn’t notice anything special. It’s rice, and something else on the side — either meat or veggies. Hmmm… I still don’t get it. So, please elaborate! Anyway, I had the spicy chicken — and although it was fine, it wasn’t too terribly special. It was $ 5.95, no veggies, and white rice. I even asked when I ordered if there were veggies, and she said, «yes». Perhaps she didn’t get my question, or perhaps she thought that the little side of cabbage classified. I guess technically, it is a vegetable. So, I’d say probably I don’t need to go back to this place… or if I do, that I should ask for a veggie side skewer. But now my meal will cost me $ 7.70 +tip, and that seems very high for white rice, some onions, peppers and a little chicken. I did feel pretty good after eating here, which I assume was due to the fact that they do NOT use MSG. That’s enough for 3 stars right there. Oh how MSG will hurt the tummy!
