Delicious french toast but the worst service I’ve ever encountered. Waited 20 minutes until the one waitress who was on shift finally came to our table. I had to go up twice to ask if we could order. Once our order was in, we received our food 25 minutes later. In the meantime, chatty Cindy(who we found out was the manager there) sat and chatted with a couple while we continued to wait for water, and service. If you happen to wanna try this place, be prepared to wait at least 45minutes to receive your food when Cindy is your waitress!

This morning experience at Biscuits Café(which used to be my favorite breakfast spot) was very disappointing. It was a busy Sunday morning which was fine, we are used to the wait whenever we dare to go on a weekend, and surprisingly the line wasn’t even out the door so it really wasn’t that bad at all. Our trouble began because they are now seating outdoors as well. Outdoor seating is nice when it’s warm out. At about 9am this morning; it was freezing! And really windy. As the host lead us outside(take note we were never asked if we were okay with or wanted to sit outside) I asked him if we could wait for indoor seating, I don’t think he heard me(yeah I should have spoken up). Once seated I figured, it’s okay i’ll just grab the family some hoodies… hoodies did nothing to block the chill, we literally needed winter coats which I didn’t happen to have in my car unfortunately. So after a few minutes of shivering; when the host came out with our ice water I asked him if we could wait and be seated inside, he hesitated a bit and seemed to be contemplating my question and how he could figure a way out of it, so I just told him not to worry about it, we would deal with the chill(my bad, I really need to stop feeling bad about inconveniencing people when I am paying a nice sum for their services). And so the wait began, I should have remembered the biggest downfall of this place in the past was the slow service(yeah I know it says on the door it’s not a fast food café it’s a fresh food café which takes longer, but I mean all around service not just the food). It took exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes, of sitting next to a busy street in the cold and wind, with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, surrounded by other families who were also complaining about the cold seating(was there a reason that every table next to us happen to have small kids with them, is this the new families with small children section?), we watched two groups of people who came in after us, and were lucky enough to get indoor seating, leave with full bellies while we shivered out in the cold waiting… and waiting… and waiting… The food finally arrived(1 hour and 10 minutes later) we literally scarfed it down in 10 minutes so we could hurry to our car and blast the heater. I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 because I still enjoyed the food… okay enjoy may be an overstatement, what little I tasted was good, I wish I could have savored it a little bit. My husband on the other hand may never let me talk him into returning, his burger which he asked for no mayo on, was smothered in mayo(if your a mayo hater you can understand his distaste) but after an hour he didn’t have the patience to wait for a new one, so he ate almost half of it and tried not to gag on whatever mayo he was unable to scrape off. And so after about 1 ½ hours shivering, we left with frozen limbs, stomach aches from eating too fast, and $ 40 less in our pockets… and I noticed the giant sign near the freeway where we were sitting said it was 59 degrees out at this time. :(Disappointed to say the very least, and definitely not doing that again!

Amazing breakfast burrito and hash browns! Such a good spot for a truly filling and traditional breakfast! Great, friendly service. Awesome waffles, French toast, and scrambles. They are nice about substitutions to make things vegetarian

We didn’t have any expectations of the place, aside from potentially having to wait, and were pleasantly surprised by not only the fast service, but the delicious breakfast too! The B+G was a solid choice that didn’t disappoint. My wife had the almond crusted French toast. It was some of the best French toast we’ve ever had. Syrup was provided, but unnecessary. We will definitely be back … next time with the kids!

5 years ago I would go to the Biscuits in NW Pdx and really enjoyed it. When I lived in AZ we would go once in awhile and had good food and service but after moving back and going to the Johnson Creek one twice we were done. The chicken fried steak is now some formed patty and the pancakes small, cold and bland. They use to be big, fluffy and tasty. The turkey scramble hardly has any meat in it now. Very disappointing to see the downhill changes. The staff is nice.

Worth the wait! Amazing quality food and gravy that is out of this world! Average wait is 20 – 40 min depending on party size. Again worth the wait!

I really like Biscuits for breakfast. I find it appealing because the food is fantastic(very large portions too), it’s affordable and although it is popular it hasn’t reached the level of hype that so many Portland breakfast spots have obtained, keeping wait time for a table to a minimum… We went on a Sunday(right after church, prime breakfast time) and the wait was only 15 minutes. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy, very good and my friend ordered the Greek omelette, both were delicious. In the past I have ordered some of their specialty and seasonal pancake selections and those too were very good. If ever on their rotating menu I highly recommend their Macadamia nut pancakes. All in all, this is a sweet little spot, especially for us Eastsiders not thrilled to travel into downtown for eggs. Check it out.

Just had breakfast from one of the most impersonal waitress I’ve ever encountered. So I wasn’t surprised when my food arrives my order was 50% of what I ordered. Asked for crispy hash browns and they came out slightly warm. Yuck. Wrong jam and $ 2.59 for a cup of coffee I would expect to more then 1 refill. Food was bland and the scrambled eggs were in my opinion not cooked all the way. Usually have good experiences but the one off of Johnson Creek will never see my business again.

We love this location of Biscuits! Always the same friendly faces greeting us and serving us. All menu items we’ve ordered have arrived hot and fresh. Their Strawberry Jam is delicious! Large portions of food. Can be a little bit of a wait and a line at times, but usually moves quickly.

If there’s one thing Americans love it’s good food in huge quantities. Biscuits certainly delivers this and fast service but not much else. The wait was short considering the amount of people waiting. The wait crowd increased considerably after 9am on Sunday to about a consistent 35 – 40 people. The cavernous room is almost completely devoid of atmosphere(but that’s not really why people come here). The chatter level is high and punctuated with the cries of babies(which there seemed to an abundance of on the Sunday morning I was there). The coffee was a bit on the bitter side which is inexcusable in Portland. On the plus side, the food was delicious, well-prepared, and served lightning fast. Kudos to our amazing waitress who ran her ass off the entire time we were there.

Ahh my family kept dragging me back here for breakfast, but I just can’t anymore. The food is blend, often time burnt, and it smells so greasy inside due to the open kitchen format. Yes the portion size is big. It’s just not worth the money. The staff is always friendly which is a plus. They also have a rewards system for members, which you can sign up for free. Overall though, with some many breakfast options in the area, I am going to avoid this place if I can help it.

Food is good but the older blonde waitress has a shit attitude and an unpleasant personality. She acts like it’s an inconvenience to do her job. If you are not a people person you should not be serving people

We went on a Sunday for brunch. It was so packed my first thought was forget it, let’s go somewhere else. But then I thought, if it’s this packed, it must me good. Be advised there I’d like no space really to wait except for 1 bench so I felt like anywhere I stood I wad in the way. Despite the amount of people waiting, we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. The service was promt and the good was soooo fresh the live up to their motto«we don’t serve fast food. We serve fresh food as fast as we can.» I tried the biscuits and gravy. Very good flaky, buttermilk, biscuits. The gravy had a taste of thyme. This place was worth the wait and I’ll be back.

I met my grandmother here for lunch. She had been a regular for a while while working in this area a few years ago. It was a busy Sunday so I understood the delay in service to our table to take drink orders. I mean, we had the manager, CINDY, wait our table. After telling us to «hold on» several times to take our order, she finally did so in a very polite manner. She brought our drinks promptly as well. The food was good. My grandmother loved her mixed berry waffles and sausage combo and I had the country benedict. One problem: I found a hair(obviously was not mine-different color and length) intertwined with my sausage and gravy. I politely told Cindy(quietly I might add, as there were other tables around and I didn’t want to ruin THEIR experience) that I found the hair. My grandmother(being 77) was picking through her food making sure she didn’t have one as well. When Cindy looked at my grandmother, she said, and I QUOTE«so now you both are magically finding hairs in your food?» RUDE. 100% UNACCEPTABLEFOR A MANAGER. We are customers in your restaurant. A restaurant you are supposed to be managing and leading by example. She said«fine» and took my plate away without another word. No sorry, no I will speak with the kitchen, no nothing. She came by to replace the check she had left previously to show my plate taken off. I appreciate the compesation, but I would have paid for the plate if it meant better customer service from her. I work in customer service for a living. THISISNOTHOWYOUTREATPEOPLE. I hope you see this Cindy. I hope today was just stressful and busy and I hope today gets better for you. I hope that you see this and next time a situation arises with another customer similar to mine, you will handle their concerns with compassion and sincerity. This was my first experience here. And until something changes with management or Cindy’s attitude, it will be my last.

Came here for the first time today, after passing by it a thousands times since I live nearby. The food was pretty good, though their pancakes weren’t as fluffy as I like. The brisket Benedict was deeeeelicious though. Toast a little burnt, but that’s okay… Makes it extra crispy. The service was a little awkward though… They asked what we wanted to drink, and I said I want to take a look at the menu first and he just stood there awkwardly waiting.

I love breakfast, and with all the traveling that I’ve been doing lately I’ve been hunting down good breakfast places in the Portland Oregon area. This is a chain restaurant, so it’s basically a classy version of Denny’s. It seems expensive, but it’s about right for what you get, the portions are decent, so I feel as though you get what you pay for. Other reviewers state that the jam is the best, and it is pretty good. I received great customer service, however, I’m amazed at how the last person that you have interaction with can leave a bad taste in your mouth: As I went to pay a nice younger gentleman was ringing me out, when another women approached the counter with a to-go order for the person behind me, and blurted out in a very unprofessional manner, «would you like silverware DUDE». The cashier turned to her and said in a very nice way, «Don’t call our customers DUDE», to which she looked like she was about to take his head off for saying so. I wanted to high five my cashier for acknowledging that that’s not a way to talk to a customer. — I didn’t get the vibe that she was very happy to be there, and I couldn’t really blame her, because that leads into my second complaint. It was almost 90 degrees outside, and this place was even hotter inside, there was no circulation, the air was stale, it felt miserable inside, it’s sad when going outside makes you more comfortable on a 90 degree day.

This is our go to breakfast spot. It’s very affordable and the food is top notch. We always have leftovers when we we leave because the portions are quite generous. My only complaint would be that it is not very big and parking can be a pain. If you go there on a weekend morning prepare to put your name on the list. Overall though I would definitely recommend. The omelettes are awesome and the breakfast steak is great too!
