Stopped by after the symphony — we had not visited since the remodel and name change so didn’t quite know what to expect. After initially questioning the choice when presented with the limited seeming late evening menu I went with the scoth egg and fingerling /bleu cheese hash — both were extremely good. My wife had the market fish plate, which was very well done as well — overall a very good and convenient dining experience at 10:30pm waiting for the symphony crowd to disperse.

i ate here for breakfast on 9-22-2014 around 9:00 am. there was no wait because only one other person was eating breakfast. not sure if i was a late straggler to eat breakfast. i ordered the breakfast buffet and had an fresh omelette prepared. the buffet was a joke and did not have a great selection. the quality of the breakfast was a 3.5 star. the service was a 4 star. i decided to give my review a 2 star because my buffet was $ 20! it was definitely not worth the money! i guess i ate here for convenience and hilton nailed me price wise.

This review is no reflection on our super-friendly waitress who was lovely. Of course, she had to be because I paid $ 17 for a glass of mediocre malbec and was the only one of the group who ordered what they wanted because the beer taps were broken, they were out of bottles of India Pale Ale, and out of chicken wings, the only protein on the appetizer menu. The food, which wasn’t good, took forever to come out of the kitchen. It’s only two stars for the sweet waitress and good quality TV’s to watch football.

Any place that charges $ 11.95 for a bowl of oatmeal with raisins is a non-starter. Does the Hilton wonder why the hotel is full and the Bistro 921 is empty? There are many other options nearby.

Just added this app to write this review: don’t do breakfast here at all! Buffet has no one to make omelet so the food sits and rots, no one waits on you until you ask. THEWORST

Went here last night for Christmas dinner. Pros: very sweet staff, large wine selection, decent Christmas menu, beautiful decorations in lobby Cons: was seated oddly far away from everything else, food itself was average although the eggnog cheesecake was very good, things included in the meal were missing from my dishes(berries, veggies) This place is nice but not sure it was worth the money.

By the glass house wines on the pricey side @ $ 14 – 16. No happy hour on weekends. 2 glasses of wine and no food $ 35 with tip! Must be a better bar near the Hilton!

Been here a number of times in years past. This visit was weird and marginal. Arrived about a couple of minutes to 100. Wanted to sit in the restaurant but they told us it was closed and we needed to sit to the side where they have a make shift barish area. Just more cramped and same menu, strange. How about you let us sit 10 feet away at a regular table. We both ordered the same chopped salad. Simple enough. They come and one has tons of veggies and the other has almost none. They are not busy in the least and inconsistent to boot. Not looking forward to running back anytime soon.

This morning I wanted something different for breakfast, so I went to the Hotels restaurant Bistro 921. I ordered the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It was ok, but I’ve had better. The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff was pleasant. I may even consider trying them for dinner.

I had the 17.95 breakfast buffet and thought it was average. The omelet station was the high point. Fruit selection is limited, OJ is from concentrate, coffee is marginal and Steel cut oats are not great. If you are staying at the Hilton, this place was fast as it’s not very busy.

I came here last night with my girlfriend after making reservations on open table for a nice valentine evening. For starters they scrapped the normal menu and instead had a buffet style of food, that was bland, tasteless and cold to lukewarm.(Super bloody roast, just to give you an idea) The manager was making his rounds asking the guest how there evening was and then just skipped our table completely. Our waiter came by our table 3 time total that evening, once for a refill of water, and then to take our plates and bring back the bill. I still can’t believe I had to pay $ 90 for a meal and service worse than what you would get a Denny’s in Gresham on a Saturday night

I would give this place negative stars if I could. I attended a dinner here with a group of 14WWII veterans who were staying at the Hilton for their annual reunion. This dinner was planned months in advance. The service was horrible, with people actually having finished a meal before others had even started. The last person to receive their meal(about an hour after ordering!) had ordered a salad. The food was awful, overcooked and barely edible food, cold, dry steaks, mushy fish. It was disgusting. This would be unforgivable even if the restaurant was packed, but it wasn’t even busy, with maybe four other tables in a huge dining room occupied. I felt terribly for the kind man who hosted this event. I do not recommend this place.

Solid. Just stayed here for a convention. Breakfast was«business hotel buffet». Good selection, fine service. Bar was good, with good selections, but not quite ready for the convention crowd, so service suffered.

We decided to just head to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast during the last day of a conference. We figured that an expensive breakfast isn’t so bad as a treat after a successful stint. Anyway, what can I say? Well, the breakfast was tasty, but it’s one of those things that you feel like it’s good for one try, but won’t repeat it again. I had the Pacific Northwest Omelette, which was quite tasty, having seafood inside it, and me being a seafood fan, I was quite excited. The coffee was okay, it was the same as the next coffee you can find. And the food was okay too. Nothing to write home about. Reading the other reviews here about this place made me aware of how other reviewers tend to criticize the décor, saying that it was dated. Considering that this is my first time in this restaurant, I am not sure whether it is dated or not. It is definitely not my taste, however, but I have to say that expensive hotels isn’t usually my taste, and I prefer hostels more often. I presume that if you’re a well-off business traveler, then this would be your taste, so I have no reason to complain. Overall, it was okay. If I want breakfast again, I will probably go elsewhere, knowing that Portland has plenty of other interesting food options.

This place is so good. I went twice here one time in the year 2010 and this year i.e. 2011 for Christmas Brinch. Brunch with really good Jazz music. One cannot ask more than this for the holidays. Good for one person, couples, family, etc. The buffet brunch was huge and quite likeable with varieties.

Some Hotels set up their bar and restaurant to be a local destination in addition to Guest convenience. Urban Farmer or Departure at The Nines is kind of like that. My ex-wife also raves about the restaurant at the Healthman Hotel. Not so with the Portland Hilton and Bistro 921. I came here the first time for a beer with a friend as we watched a hockey game on a too small screen with poor sight lines. The second time was for breakfast over at the restaurant with the same Canadian friend. eh? Actually, the food, drink, and service were OK, but the large space is dated, doesn’t flow together well, and seems to be overdue for a complete refurbishment. So if I were staying at the Hilton and wanted my friends to come to me, charge off the higher prices to the old expense account, enjoy retro-Midwest décor, and had no interest in exploring the plethora of fine dining that Portland has to offer, Bistro 921 would be just the place for me. And as you already know, Homey don’t play that.

As an enthusiastic lover of Hotel Bars, I was more than a little excited to alight upon Bistro 921 in the Hilton for a business meeting last week. Unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired. It looks as though nothing has changed since the 80’s. Beautiful cobwebs decorated the entrance – it was a few days after Halloween, sure, but these cobwebs weren’t for decoration. The menu is uninspired and bland. It’s what you would find at a Newport Bay or Applebee’s circa 1987, but with 2010 prices. Now, it may just be because I’m watching Season 3 of Mad Men with«Connie» Hilton and feel like I know him really well, but The Hilton to me implies class, quality and timelessness. I got a plastic pic in my martini glass, a scrutinized look at my i.d., and mediocre service. The good points – my martini was fine, the veganized bruschetta I ordered was fine, and my company was great. Next time I head to a Hotel Bar, it won’t be Bistro 921 until they freshen everything up a bit.

Here for a quick bite after picking up my race packet for the Portland Marathon. Did the cajun fries and the pesto pizza. OMG! The pizza was sooo good! Way better than the national brands! But yeah, this place gave good service and the hostess was nice. Best part was that I picked a table where there was an outlet the wall where I plugged in my phone to recharge while I ate. Awesome!!!
