Acai Bowl! Great place to go if you just want to go out and have something healthy. Very cute small place, but very comfy. I had the Yogi Bowl, which was a blend of the Carioca and Purista Bowl. Pretty pricey for what you get. The acai tasted a little on the blander side compare to what I usually get at the store. You also get a choice of two extra toppings with your bowl as well. I love how they serve it in a wooden bowl and spoon. There’s a nice patio outdoor seating as well.

Presentation was really nice(instaworthy) & you can tell that everything is made very fresh! I haven’t had many acai bowls but my boyfriend and I both really liked it. The only thing was it was kind of on the pricier side. $ 6 for a small and $ 9 for a large. It really wasn’t enough to fill us up, but a nice little snack! I might try and make my own at home now since it seems pretty simple, and not quite worth the money in my opinion. But worth checking out! :)

The most authentic acai bowl restaurant I’ve been able to find in Portland. The inside décor is cozy and welcoming, and the outside seating is so peaceful, especially when the sun’s out. The staff has always been so friendly to me each time I’ve been in. They truly make an effort to make you feel welcome, and help explain how to build your bowl, it can be confusing for first timers. It’s really nice that you can create your own bowls here, I like to switch up the toppings each time. Try the coconut water on tap. This place is a little spendy, but well worth it. I love this place, and so have all my friends who’ve come with me.

The entire experience here will make you happy! The food and drinks are exceptional and only have quality ingredients. More than that the atmosphere will uplift your mood and you can feel the love for community just by sitting in the space.

Bowl wasn’t great and is a very small portion. I didn’t find anything special about it and have had much better. Taste was bland.

Healthy and nutritional food which tastes really good. Interior looks clean and service was helpful. Free yoga studio for donations. Everything is organic and fresh. Half Carioca Bowl [$ 6] was delicious. Got it with blueberries and strawberries with bee pollen. I was satisfied with the taste. But the price and portion was bleh. Healthy food is usually more expensive but still. It was good and made me want more. It comes with the acai, granola, and bananas. Got the special smoothie [$ 6] Da Kitchen Sink. Its like the bowls without the granola. It was really good, like a more healthy jamba juice. It had all kinds of berries and healthy goodness. I might be wrong, but I think a smoothie is just the bowls blended? Overall, it is a great place to go to try to be healthy and get some good nutrients inside your body.

Easily the best Acai Bowls I’ve had at really good prices, I fell in love with this place immediately. Here is everything an Acai/Juice/Health store should be– a cozy place run by people who want to help other people achieve the goal of happiness and health, not a cold, on-trend juice bar that’s just hopping where the money is like I’m used to down in Los Angeles. The Carioca bowl was excellent, the Breakfast Quinoa was awesome if you’re in the mood for something warm, $ 3 stumptown coldbrews hit the spot, the Honey Momma’s chocolate they have for topping and in bars is obscenely good, and the staff are welcoming. The space itself is wonderful and has such good vibes– and let’s be honest, when you’re starting your day with something like an Acai bowl, aren’t some good vibes kinda what you’re already after? Only place my girlfriend and I went BACK to during a whistle stop trip to Portland. Craving it now, in fact…

Hmm I’m on the fence with this one. Would I go back? Probably not– there’s just a few Acai bowls I like better in Portland. I agree that the Acai base has a slightly icey consistency. Not a big deal but others do it better. Additionally, the peanut butter tastes too sugary. Although I love Skippy in my PB and J’s, I’m pretending to be healthy by eating a Acai bowl and sugar from the PB was too much. The fruit seemed to be skimpy, and although the bowl wasn’t bad by any means I haven’t had the urge to return. Nice outdoor patio with indoor seating as well. Check it out and see what you think compared to the other Acai offerings in PDX.

This review is closer to a 3.5 star review than a 4. I’m a big fan of acai bowls, growing up in Southern California they were a welcomed treat after a hot day at the beach or afternoon swim practice. So I was excited to give this place a shot! I work on Alberta and I’ve been looking forward to grabbing a bite here. My main gripe is that the«large» looks more like what a small would be anywhere else. The 2 free toppings are nice, but when you get an acai bowl anywhere else the fruit/granola/coconut is usually included. These little extras tack on dollar after dollar, so your«large» $ 9 bowl quickly can become $ 12-$ 14 for about a cup of acai. The space is great and beautiful, there were folks reading and others just hanging out. I wasn’t immediately greeted when I walked in(just a small per peeve) and wasn’t asked if I had any questions about anything on the menu. Oh well! I also think I made the mistake of ordering my bowl to go. :(

I’ve been yearning and dreaming for authentic acai bowls in PDX, and am thrilled to have finally found it. Fresh, wholesome ingredients, and beautiful presentation. It is a little pricey, but I’m okay with that because the quality is superb. You get what you pay for. It’s a friendly place attached to a yoga studio. Smaller inside, but lots of covered seating out front. If you’re there at the right time you’ll perhaps get to watch a capoeira class in action. I can’t wait to come back and try different acai bases and toppings!

Very nice place, great people and they’re on to a great thing. My dish was BEAUTIFUL. Food at its best visually. I found the acai to be too crunchy icy. I fell in love with Acai in Puerto Rico where it is creamy and smooth, which is my preference. Puerto Rico, however, has nothing on this place for glam, service and ambiance.

Here’s your safe haven to escape a crazy day of running around and take a minute to yourself. Come here to nourish your body, listen to some calming music and soak in the good vibes from sweaty yogis wandering around. These bowls were the bomb. No joke. Piled high with fresh cut fruit, sprinkled with hemp seeds and raw organic granola — I savored every wooden spoonful. So good. Felt zenned out by just being in this space. It was great. They also have cold brew for when you are ready to face the elements outside and be zenned UP. :) Highly recommend these fantastic bowls. Go do something good for your body and nourish yourself with some yummy fruits and plants at Carioca. Now. Get the big bowl.

This place is a true testament that simple, fresh and organic ingredients works magnificently! Acai is the star and front runner of this place. It’s refreshing, sweet with that little tang at the end of each bite! You get to pick which«basic(acai blend)» then you move on with the toppings you want which range from fresh fruit, nuts, nut butter, bee pollen etc. I’m only giving it 4 stars for now simply because I felt like its a bit on the smaller«portion» wise, compare to my favorite KURE. This is definitely worth checking out and I’ll sure be coming back

Yummy acai bowls with a variety of topping options, friendly service, cool wooden utensils, and Stumptown Cold Brew! Came in early on a Saturday and it seemed like they weren’t too busy. The service was fast and the workers were nice. I ordered the half order of Purista(no added sweetener) with strawberries and blueberries and almond butter. They kind of skimped on the fruit — maybe because I got the smaller size? — but the granola was really tasty with a nice crunch. The almond butter was amazing too — very flavorful. The one down side was my friend’s bowl had SIX almonds! She paid for an extra topping and got 6 measly almonds? Kind of ridiculous. Other than that, based on the quality and freshness of the bowls, I would highly recommend Carioca!

I loved my acai bowl that I got this afternoon. I had the original Carioca bowl with strawberries, blueberries and honey. Each bowl comes with granola and bananas and you get 3 add on items. I strongly suggest that one of your add ons is honey. It really tops the bowl off and makes all the flavors pop. It can be slightly boring without that little extra kick. Their outside seating area is really great. They have plenty of tables and chairs and each table has an umbrella to shade yourself from the sun. Very relaxing out there and they’ve done a wonderful job landscaping.

A fantastic shades patio, community yoga attached with an amazing outdoor platform for yoga. The bowl was artistic and delicious. Everyone was very kind and accommodating. I can’t wait to come back, great vibes all around here!

This was good, but not fantastic. And expensive. Looking at the pics of others here, people got large bowls that were elegantly arranged. I ordered a large($ 9!) and it seemed like a small. My stuff was piled on with no artistry at all. A friend ordered a small and my order was indistinguishable from his. Honestly, it felt like it cost twice what it should have for what you get. *Also, we were sitting outside. When we were inside ordering, there was about 10 little kids being entertained by a guy with guitar and yuke. Super high energy and loud. I was bummed to see that entire menagerie all come outside to the stage(or whatever it is) for the final 30 minutes. It made talking virtually impossible amongst the adults out there.

I have absolutely fallen for this place… First off, I have to say– I like brunch. Whenever I visit Portland, visiting my favorite brunch spots is the first thing on my to-do list. Well, this spot has changed it all for me. The last three mornings I spent in Portland, I spent here. In the sunshine. Eating these damn acai bowls! GAH! There is SOMUCHLOVE put into these bowls. I have never seen anything like it. The care, art, and personality these employees put into their creations left me squealing every time. There is passion here– not only in the quality of the food, but in the quality of preparation. To the point you get a little embarrassed of being the person taking so many photos of your bowl that the little lady starts to melt a bit.(That’s ok. I was planning on taking my time with her anyways… ;) ha!) Also, mate gourds… you know… just in case you need the full experience.(and p. s.- the tart, sweet, cool of the bowl vs the bitter heat of the mate is a match made in heaven) The atmosphere inside of the building is just so clean and warm– well lit, fun tunes always playing. Love it. AND, as if all of that wouldn’t leave you all starry eyed, there is a DONATIONBASEDYOGASTUDIO attached to the café! GAAAAH! so, the last day of my visit, timing worked out for me to visit during Richard’s Saturday morning class… and what a treat that was! Really inspiring instruction. Small studio, but well lit, airy, and bright. He definitely worked us hard enough that I was drooling by the time I was ordering my bowl…(clever strategy, gentlemen… VERY clever) ;) I sincerely look forward to visiting again and again… very soon.

I wanted an acai bowl before I left Portland and Carioca Bowls popped up on my Unilocal page. This place did not disappoint! They have 3 – 4 different acai bowls to choose from including a monthly or weekly special. From there you get to choose from a variety of toppings and fruits to add on top. The price includes two fruits and 1 topping. All acai bowls automatically include banana and granola. They also have two sizes of acai bowls, half or full. The acai bowl is flavorful, fresh and filling. The employees there are very helpful and friendly. I would return here when I come back to visit!

This is one of the best thing to come to Portland. I spent some time down in LA and that is where I experienced my first acai bowl. Being the health nut that I am, I had no idea why I have never had one of them before! I then realized that we didn’t have any acai bars in Portland, WHAT?! I was driving down Alberta, about to leave town, but I was starving. I occasionally do something I like to call Treasure Hunting, where I drive around with no end goal, and hope to stumble upon something. Well I found gold. The first thing that caught my eye was the street sign. If you are going east on Alberta, it will be extremely hidden to you. I flipped a U-turn and parked. I then began my trek through a zen-wonderland(AKA their front dining area/walkway). To set the scene, it shares a space with a yoga studio, and you start to feel the atmosphere as soon as you step on the property. They are so welcoming and informative. I was already familiar with acai bowls, but I loved seeing how they did it. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy, and it really was a perfect little place to enjoy such a delicious treat.
