Gary did wonderful work; I am so glad I found him! I have a sterling silver charm bracelet and needed one charm reattached and about 5 more put on. He had it done that same day and charged me a fraction of the price I would have paid at any jewelry store. I’m going to get more work done there in the future. He and his wife were very nice, straight-forward, and no-nonsense. What a breath of fresh air! Know before you go: He works from his home workshop and only takes cash.

Works from his home. My fiances ring got run over. They fixed it up. Very fast and friendly. Will be going back for more work.

Cascade Silver no longer has a store front so don’t look at the map but give them a call and they will work with you. He helped me when my wife’s silver bracelet was broken(purchased online somewhere). It was not repairable because of the stones in it, but he and I came up with a new idea for a necklace and he made it look beautiful. He was great about communicating the costs and all that and it came in a nice little box when he was done a day ahead of schedule.

Pleasant and helpful on the phone; they don’t offer the re-plating I needed done on my necklace, but they said they could take care of my simple watch battery fix no problem.

I found Cascade Silver by looking here on Unilocal and read the reviews. I had several silver rings that needed to be re-sized and after corresponding a little bit, I arranged to meet up at their shop at their house. They no longer have a store front, but their shop is not difficult to get to. He charged $ 40 for all 3 rings, one of which didn’t need to be re-sized as much as to be re-shaped so that the top-heavy stone didn’t spin around my finger. So very reasonable, super easy to work with. I’m missing a small stone out of one of the rings and was even told where locally I could perhaps find a replacement(he tried his other contacts first on my behalf, but that particular type was a challenge to find). Once I do, I’m definitely taking the ring back for them to set the stone for me. They’re still selling their own jewelry via The Gold Door in the Hawthorne district which is near to me, so I’ll also go and give their creative pursuits a look. I cannot recommend them more highly. Do call the phone number, which will provide an email address and from there a way to contact them directly.

After taking my Tiffany platinum wedding band back to Tiffany to have it refinished and finding out that it would have to be shipped to an out-of-state service center, I decided to find a local jewelry repair person. They are very quick, friendly, reasonably priced, and do extremely good work. I could not be happier. A note about their location, they are still open but they are working out of their home. Make sure to call their phone number to get their address.

Like Lauren, I came in here for repair rather than to purchase. The gentlemen took out a link from my new watch and then took out another since I’m apparently unaware of the size of my wrist. He wouldn’t take any money and even refused when I offered to buy him coffee(Sweetness Café next door is awesome as well). You’re not going to get that treatment at any mall in Portland. As I said, I’m not very knowledgeable about the jewelry here but they sell incense as well. It was burning when I went in and reasonably priced. If you’re going on a work day, make sure to stop in before your shift as they will be closed if you try to stop by on your way home.

We had them make 4 pendants for us, then botch them, get mad and then storm into the other room.

40 bucks and three hours. That’s what I lost three years ago when(out of desperation) I got a watch battery replaced at Washington Square Mall. Last week at Cascade Silver? $ 9. That’s right, $ 9. While I waited. Cascade Silver is owned by a super nice husband and wife team, who also do jewelry repair and make and sell their own jewelry out of the storefront. They also did a great job rhodium plating a ring, and I’m planning to bring in a few more things for repair. If you really must pay 3X what you should, enjoy parking downtown, and don’t like the yummy goodness of Sweetness Bakery(which is next door to Cascade) then by all means, go to Malloy’s or the mall. Otherwise, go see the fine folks here.
