Such a great location, but what a dreary pod. Only a handful of carts– none of which are opened on weekends– which I find both annoying and odd. Just last winter, this was such a happenin’ place. I sure hope the lot owners step up their game. I would love to see it come back to life. I believe in you, Central Eastside!

I was skeptical at first — this seemed a rather bleak patch of pavement for a cart pod and the very first carts were a bit uninspiring — but now I’m a believer & regular customer! Mediterranean, Thai, Mexican, Ethiopian, Japanese & more regional/ethnic cuisines are all available and, across the board seem accompanied by a healthy amount of fresh vegetables & available in different dietary-restriction respecting variations. Everything I’ve had here has been delicious & under 10 bones. More picnic tables(especially in the summer) and maybe a row of potted bushes /trees to hide MLK& Stark Street traffic would make this a solid 5-star spot!

Okay, not a lot of carts, but the few there are great, from dishes solely based on really good potatoes to the quirky Australian delicacy, The Jaffle. Why not take a virtual culinary trip around the world and sample them all! After being there, it’s hard not to.

Aren’t we running out of lots for these pods yet? Guess not! This one’s situated between two very busy streets(SE Grand and MLK) and on the streetcar line, making it super easy to access and/or taking a quick getaway with lunch in hand. Still pretty new and with a bunch of open spots available at this time, they opened with a variety of carts: –Scoop Handmade Ice Cream –Sila Thai –Castle Cauldron(soups and chili) –Tacos Gadea –Taqueria Las Piedritas –Rockin’ Robyn’s BBQ Bento –Enjoy Thai and Vietnamese –El Local(Latin) Tented eating area, wifi, toilet facilities, ATM. No reason not to be a fan, but we’ll have to see what develops there for that fifth star. If they get a late night thing going, I could see myself there more often after wandering out of all my favorite bars right in that area. So close to East End, Slow Bar, My Father’s Place, East Bank, etc. Olé!
