As a self proclaimed Mexican food expect, this place is legit. The chicken black mole tamales are wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf, which is much better than the typical corn husk. The flavor is spot on and it is big enough to share. Also had a carnitas burrito there, which was very tasty and generous in size. All the ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. More meat in the burrito than I expected. Prices are fair and the owner is very nice. Highly recommended!

Elote!!! Plus fresh juice made from fresh fruit. Plus service above and beyond. The sweetheart of a lady at the counter misunderstood our juice order and so juiced an entire drink for us. Then when we asked if it had in it what we thought we ordered and she realized there was a misunderstanding, she graciously, without complaint, and quickly offered to remake the entire thing. Juicing ain’t quick, btw, so it took her a while to do it and she was out an entire other drink. She apologized profusely(completely unnecessarily, by the way — it was probably our fault). Would go out of my way to go back here based on our experience. It seems rarer and rarer these days. Oh yeah, and the elote and juice were awesome too…

Super good Oaxacan food. Tamales are fresh and home made. Best mole ever. 10 times better than LA serenita or LA barfeata(Cisco foods) restaurants.

This is the best Oaxacan food I have had outside of Oaxaca. It is delicious, authentic, homemade and fresh! We had the elote, which was delicious, and which is one of my daughter’s favorite Mexican street foods. The sweet owner grilled the ear of corn for us fresh, and slathered it with mayo and cheese, just like in Mexico. Then we had a Mole tamale which was to die for. So soft, moist, fresh and delicious! I can’t wait to go back and try the other offerings. Unlike the other taqueria’s on Alberta, which serve cheap, decent, but inauthentic Mexican food(they don’t eat burritoes in Mexico), Chefino’s serves(cheaply also!) the delicious food Mexico should be known for. Please eat here… you won’t regret it, and you will be helping this place stay open so I can keep eating there too! YUM!!!
