Claggett’s Bengals

My husband and I bought a bengal kitten from Heather and Steve in June 2014. They are a great couple who are very knowledgeable about the breed. All of their cats looked to be in great health. We have taken our kitten back for a few visits and they opened their home up and were very happy to see us. I would recommend buying from this breeder, they are very good at what they do. I can’t wait to get our next bengal from them!

We recently bought a bengal kitten from Claggett’s Bengals in Portland. The kitten had health issues the moment we returned home with it. Initially, the kitten was diagnosed with 2 parasites and was underdeveloped. Over the course of two weeks, it’s health deteriorated so severely that it had to be euthanized. Not only were my wife and 2 daughters devastated, but I was left sitting with over $ 500 in vet bills-​bills that the Claggets refused to reimburse us for. Even after offering to negotiate a partial reimbursement, they have completely ignored my requests.
Their website states that their kittens are guaranteed to be healthy and free of parasites. The kitten we received was not healthy and they have failed to stand behind this guarantee.
I would not recommend anyone purchase a kitten from them. If you are looking for a bengal kitten, there are other reputable breeders in Oregon and Washington.
