Clear Internet

The service is aweful! It is slow and most the time it just keeps going in and out. I called and tried everything they suggested and it still did not help and there was nothing they could do.

Horrible signal, they say they have a 30 day gurantee but they trick you and give partial money back. Go check them out on BBB they have 3061 complaints about billing and refund issues.

The «CLEAR» store at Washington Square is CLOSED. And I’m not shocked.
I have no idea if all stores are closed or not. But I never was able to get the signal their website and store said was available,
No doubt the bosses ended up just fine. The actual workers, probably not so much.

Clear Internet customer service is horrible. Just crossed them off my list of companies to deal with. I was about to sign up for service. I like the concept. Fortunately, my card had a fraud alert on it and the charge did not go through. The gal said she would call me back at 10 the next day to give me time to clear the fraud alert. She did not call. When I called, the loop was telling me I had less than 1 minute to wait, that I was next in line, that there was high call volumes… 16 minutes later I got a live person and I told him about my experience so far. He laughed at first, then proceeded to counteract my statements. When I told him to accept the feedback and not argue, he stated «I needed to find out what arguing was» I guess cause I was not yelling and carrying on, it was not arguing??? The company really needs to check into customer service. Look at what is being said online and do something about it. I was still a potential customer and was already being exposed to the poor customer service. I Will wait until another company with a wireless Internet service comes along.

This Internet is terrible and their customer service people have foreign accents that make them hard to understand at times at least that is how all of the people I spoke with were like. This makes me think they are outsourcing their customer service which I am not a big fan of. Also they told me that I would get good speeds according to their map and what customer service told me but my actual speeds were a little over 1 Mbps. I really don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for clear, don’t make the same mistake I did get your Internet from a different company.

We put up with Clear for several years before we discovered that we could get a better deal and better speed from Comcast. The service started out with a reasonable price (about $ 35) and then they increased the price to $ 50/​month for «4G internet». Their version of «4G» never got faster than 6 mbps and that was with a 5 bars connection. When the service failed, we were never able to get any response from customer service. Originally, they promised to give us a better modem, but then they changed their mind and told us we would have to pay for a new modem. Initially we decided to suspend Clear service and give Comcast a trial. A couple weeks later, Clear changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t just suspend their service. At that point, we cancelled. This is a company that can’t deliver what it promises and, when confronted, tells a bunch of lies.

the ONLY good thing about Clear is that it is wireless and portable. Google has divested their share of Clear, and Sprint is no longer promoting it. the corpse still walks, but it’s clearly headed to the grave. hello, cable…

Do not use them!!!
This has been the worst experience I have ever received and I never got a chance to even use the product. I bought the product from a store paid cash for it at the end of Jan 2012 and then for some reason it would not work on my laptop so I had to return the product however they have it setup to where I cannot return it at the store I have to call customer service to get a UPS shipping label. The sales clerk (who was extremely helpful and a nice kid) helped me get a UPS label so I can return it. I never received the UPS label so I had the following day and informed that the request had never been inputted so I had to wait another 24hrs to receive the label. Once Clear received the product for whatever reason they had to confirm my mailing address not once, not twice but 3 times. On the 3^rd time I confirmed the address which was on 02÷16÷12 I was told that the check will be sent off the following week. I called 11 days later to find out about the check and I was informed that I need to wait another 2 weeks to receive the check. I have been waiting for a month now for my money. Why they cannot do refunds at the store is beyond me and why they cannot put the money on the card is ridiculous! It should not take 30 days + to get a refund back. Again this is the worst Experience that I have ever had!!!

Don’t do it!!!
I signed up last week and immediately had problems with just the customer service. Once I did finally get my modem, my «optimum» zone suddenly changed to a «dead» zone. Luckily there is a 30 day money back guarantee.
It’s too bad they have such bad business practices because even if the network service improved, I would never trust them again!

I signed up for month to month service and went to cancel today only to find out it was not set up that way and I have to pay a cancellation fee. I was warned their business practices were poor and feel absolutely cheated. No where on my account summary can I see the type of service or my terms I signed up with a year ago. Bummed out and feel robbed.

One word: SLOW!
This internet has got to be the worst I’ve ever had. Even dial-​up would seem more consistent. Clear however, seems to have two speeds. Slow and slower. If you’re thinking about doing anything with this service other than a simple check of your email, forget it. And even then, be patient. Downloading computer updates, takes forever. Streaming any sort of media, forget it. This internet sucks.
I know a lot of people have issues with Comcast’s business practices, however, given the options available, it may be the best bed.
bottom line CLEAR SUCKS!

On the good side. at least you won’t have to worry about how fast your wireless router is. That’s because there’s no way you’ll ever get speeds near it’s limit. It is much cheaper than cable companies, but it is ridiculously slow. sometimes I have to wait 10 seconds just to load craigslist or google. Don’t even try to stream any sort of media. I’ve called customer service twice and after waiting for ten minutes they tell me to restart my whole setup and see if that works and call back if it doesn’t. Sometimes it does work (maybe once out of 5) but really I shouldn’t have to do that 5 times to get a decent connection. my old connection through cable was at least 10 times faster. even though it cost $ 30 more a month I’m going back.
I have their home internet setup, not the mobile setup. there really is no excuse for connections this slow. I’ve lived in 2 locations with this setup and both have been super slow so it’s not like I’m just in a «dead spot».

By far the worst internet service ever. We are one block off Burnside and the service is terrible. Can’t wait for the 1 year contract to be over so we can go back to Qwest.
