The yogurt smoothie was great, and the drinkable chocolate(or whatever they call it) was fantastic. I had the strawberry smoothie and the Mayan chocolate drink, if you were wondering. I also got the cinnamon raisin bagel, and it wasn’t any good. I ended up throwing more than half of it away. That’s the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. I hope to get a chance to visit them again and try another food item, though. Still, the two drinks I had were soooo good, this is certainly a spot worth stopping by.

The coffee and pastries are delicious and a very welcomed choice over the other brand name coffee houses. Great place to relax and chat. However, I finally stopped in for the Portland Club sandwich; first its on rye bread, secondly it has a real chicken breast in the sandwich. It was perfectly seasoned, the bacon was not greasy or salty, it was simply perfect. If you are in the downtown area and want something different this is the place. See you there!

Searching for a non-Starbucks establishment for some coffee and breakfast, and this place was perfect. Attentive and friendly service. A liquid sugar pump at the cream station was a great addition to their excellent iced coffee. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich, and it was delicious without being overly greasy, with crisp bacon and soft white cheese. Glad I found this place.

Happened to spot so stepped in and was super impressed with their drinking chocolate. Went back for the Swiss Perfection twice in a week! Their truffles are great too and very affordable!

Was looking for a coffee shop after 8 pm and my friend Helen quite rightly doesn’t like going to Starbucks. We stumbled across Coco Moca by pure chance and we loved it! They serve ice cream if you fancy: I didn’t think it looked too nice but Helen enjoyed hers. The ambiance is very chilled. Staff is friendly and chatty and added to the experience greatly.

Awesome cozy, comfortable café by director park. Music not too loud so I could concentrate. Super nice, friendly staff and the strawberry smash smoothie really hit the spot. Sweet and fruity, not too thick and overwhelming. Glad I found this place on Unilocal, great place to dip in to while waiting for a ride on a wednesday night. Would come again!

Sublime hot chocolate, a wonderful omelette carefully prepared, a light flaky biscuit paired with real butter, a side of jelly, and fresh fruit. Also wonderful service. I’ll definitely be back.

The Ruben sandwich was delicious, but don’t order the New Mexico salad with chicken. The chicken in my salad was rubbery. In addition we ordered the smores for two and it was yummy!

My breakfast was good! Just waiting for the coffee to cool down and I’ll let you know how my Mocha tastes. The customer service delivered here is nothing short of excellent. The employees are patient and able to answer any of my questions and concerns. Our food arrived on time at all of its correct temperatures and I ate everything on my plate. :) I will be back to try something new! Psst! Their menu is extensive! Mac and Cheese, Drinking Chocolate… oh my! Oh, and my Mocha is good! By the way they have hemp, soy and almond milk! Righteous!

The bacon, egg and cheese croissant was satisfying and the fresh fruit on the side was a surprising bonus! Place was clean and new as others have said. I tried a few sips of my bf’s dark roast black and I found it to be pretty smooth though I’m not a coffee drinker.

We ended up in Coco Moka because we got some samples of their smoothies while passing by, and made a note to go back. Their smoothies were indeed delicious! Rich and sweet and flavorful. You can also add yogurt, which we did, and it’s a nice addition — about what you’d expect from adding yogurt to a smoothie, creamier/thicker, and certainly tasty. We also got some sandwiches. My Texas BBQ was fine, although the sauce was thinner and less smoky than I would expect from a BBQ roast beef sandwich. The beans and slaw that came with it were tasty. Prices were reasonable. The service and ambiance are great — plenty of seating, it’s a welcoming, warm place. A great place to sit down and grab some lunch, or perhaps do a little work. They have punchcards for regulars, and the staff and owner are very friendly and attentive, and happy to help with any questions or concerns. I hope this place sticks around — I’m not downtown that often, but when I’m in the area I’d like to be able to stop by. We didn’t get to try their sweets selection, but there was an extensive array(and s’mores!) that looked very tasty, so we’ll have to go back by and sample the desserts.

I ordered an iced café moka + a couple of sweet treats. I was on my way to Case Study when I happened to see the awning. The modest entrance makes way to a cool and spacious dining area. Sweaty commuter’s odor(the result of a satisfying bike ride I’m sure) filled the entire front area. But I wasn’t going to let that stifle what could be a great coffee experience. What almost did me in was, from their vast menu of deli grub, a couple who came up behind me, ordered something that contained a rather«fragrant» cheese. It’s forgivable, as I’ve enjoyed many a stinky beverage(durian shakes, anyone?) My palate isn’t refined enough to discern whether my coffee is burnt or if it’s just supposed to taste that way. Either way, it’s rich and chocolatey and I like it. The sweets are alright. I mean, they’re good but not«artisan»(as if I could actually tell if a highly skilled chocolatier laid their hands on any of them). Overall, it’s nice and clean, and with tons of cozy chairs. The tables can be shuffled around to acommodate large parties I suppose. It’s not quaint or cozy like CS, Sbux or many of their competitors around. It kinda reminds me of a cafeteria or a donut shop in the main dining area… but hey, it’s comfy. I don’t rate perfect scores since there’s always room for improvement. I guess my only gripe would be that they’re *too well ventilated. Smell of b.o. + stinky cheese lingered way too long, but I appreciate being able to step in from the heat long enough so I too, could cool off. The guys behind the counter are real friendly too.

I watched them renovating the space for this café for awhile and wondered how it was going to turn out since they’re just across from Elephant’s and Flying Elephants(a couple of heavyweights in downtown Portland lunchtime dining). I stopped by yesterday for lunch and had an excellent experience and have no fear for them as I think there’s enough room for them and the two Elephant outlets to make a go of things. After perusing the menus displayed in the front window, I was very taken with the pastrami sandwich(haven’t had one in ages) and which I ordered at the front cash register from the very nice owner and also ordered a rice krispies bar. The décor is bright and cheerful(yellow, green, and orange), and because it is a brand-new venue, it is super-super clean and shiny. While adding the tip to my bill at checkout, I managed not to put the decimal point in the amount and ended up with a bill for something over $ 150(whoa that better be a damned good sandwich). The owner was right on top of it and between the two of us got a refund sent back to my account. She printed out the paperwork in case there was any problem with my bank, and she then pulled out her laptop and showed me how the refund had been issued from their bank account to mine. She checked on me several more times and made sure I was doing OK. Presentation was attractive. They used excellent-quality pastrami on marble rye(I always think of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry stole the loaf of marble rye from the senior citizen and ran) and used a half deviled-egg and dill pickle spear with kalamata olives as garnish. The sandwich and garnishes were excellent. There’s been a lot of thought put into this café and it shows with things like using the kalamata olives instead of the usual black olives. They serve breakfast all day(breakfast offerings looked good enough to bring me back) and also offer various desserts, coffee drinks, and drinking chocolate. I heartily recommend the drinking chocolate. It’s like a little side trip to Paris. The customer service is totally excellent, some of the best I’ve received here in downtown Portland. I don’t think you will be disappointed either by that or the food. A nice to remember for your return visits is that you can get 10% off your bill if you’ve checked-in or liked via Unilocal or Facebook. You can also get 20% off your bill if you write a review on Unilocal or post on Facebook. The details are printed on a card in every napkin container where it is explained in better detail.

This is my second visit to Coco Moka and it will definitely become a regular destination! The atmosphere is clean, warm and inviting — nice background music played low enough to allow for quiet conversation — a rarity in many cafes. Excellent lattes are prepared by very knowledgeable baristas. The staff is friendly and accommodating On my first visit I tried the Oregon Pear & Walnut Salad which was delicious; very fresh ingredients and the size of the salad was quite nice for the price. I love that they serve the dressing on the side so that the salad isn’t overly drenched. This morning I ordered the Smoked Salmon & Bagel, accompanied by a side of fresh fruit. Again, everything was fresh with an appealing presentation. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of Salmon served — they definitely don’t skimp on portion sizes here. And OMG, the Mayan Intrigue Belgian Drinking Chocolate & Chocolate Chip Gelato are to die for !!! This place has it all, great coffee, great food, great pastries and the perfect atmosphere to sit, relax & enjoy.

Great new café just opened up under a month ago right across from Director’s Park. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the Popeye’s Panini I had was delicious. Salads, hot & cold sandwiches, breakfast, desserts, chocolates, coffee, and gelato make it a great spot to stop for lunch! Lots of chairs, tables, and meeting space too.

This is a new place and this is the first time we came here, during the WDS event. We had a croissant with bacon and eggs. It was tasty and priced appropriately. The atmosphere is friendly and super clean, a nice place to visit with friends. We will try the drinking chocolate next time. We talked to the owner and she was very friendly and inviting. She is very open to feedback and suggestions. Great start! Free wifi!
