In the end, it turned out that Osteopathic adjustments work better for me, personally, but I know a lot of people who do better with chiropractic care, and Dr. Steve is excellent.
Great location — it seems like a weird spot but it’s actually easy to get to rapidly from all over. I came here in 1998 – 2001, for two different car accidents, and was very well cared for. I think they closed for a little while, but I was thrilled to see Dr. Steve’s brochures in the PSU student clinic last week.
I’ve seen many chiropractors over the years, in many different cities, and this was some of the best overall quality of care — from waiting room to billing insurance, and even getting my records years later to settle the car accident claims. They dealt well with multiple insurance companies being involved, and multiple injuries — so well it wasn’t until years later that I found out this is something that usually pisses off the billing people. I never had any stress about the bill while I was being treated.
At the time, there were fantastic massage therapists on staff as well, and a great selection of vitamins and supplements for sale. The «cervical tee» traction device that’s about the size of my hand is still something I never travel without — to undo that base-​of-​skull-​tension-​headache. Dr. Steve was also the first to identify how my difficulty sleeping wasn’t just an annoyance — it was something keeping me from healing fully, and had a cheap simple Chinese herb blend to help (the only herb that has ever helped). And, he figured out when it was time to take more x-​rays, and ask more questions, and zero in on the way that low-​speed whiplash can be a different injury from higher-​speed whiplash. Well done!
And while the office handles insurance claims well, it’s also not one of these chiropractic offices set up to be an insurance-​claim machine. I’ve had some chiropractors rack up a $ 3000 bill in 2 months, with all their «extras» that don’t significantly improve my state of being. Here, it’s just about the simplest path from now, to feeling better.
And I came out not just feeling better, but also «trained» to actively seek quality care, in a way that made all the difference in the world 8 years later when I started my next series of piling whiplash on top of whiplash ;-)
