D&L Garage Doors

I had a mixed experience with this company. The technician came promptly, and he quickly and efficiently fixed the problem. However, the charge was (in my opinion) exorbitant.
Here’s the longer version: Our garage door had been working on and off for a while, and then it shut down for good the other day. I called D&L and asked for someone to come out and diagnose the problem, for which they advertise a $ 19 charge. The technician came out within an hour (in the evening!), diagnosed the problem (sensors and wiring), and was able to replace the sensors and wiring in 30 minutes. Great job so far! But the charge was $ 289, which he duly told us in advance. Not knowing any better, I agreed to pay it.
The next day, I did some research and found out that the retail price for those sensors was less than $ 40 for the pair. We were charged $ 100, or a 150% markup. The wires go for $ 5 retail, and we were charged $ 50. The labor charge was $ 129.
A 150% to 1000% markup for supplies? Labor at $ 129 for 30 minutes?
Stop gouging your customers, D&L, and you’ll get 5 stars from me!

I call to have them fix my garage door. The springer was out. He said with in 3 hours and between $ 80 to $ 140 I agree. So I went and borrow the money from one of my friend cause I don’t get paid tell the weekend. The guy shows up very nice guy and explain every thing and told me the price. It is $ 190 I explain to him what happens so he call the office but they told him no. I called and ask that guy (u told me the price $ 80to $ 140) he goes no way. Well I went and borrow the money I am very sure. He killed my day and no service. What a joke
I call after that and he kept hanging the phone like kids .

DO NOT CALL FOR SERVICE

I called for a service call and explained that I had a broken spring. I informed them that one side was broken and I asked whether or not both sides would need to be replaced in order to keep the door aligned. They stated that they would inspect the second spring when they were here. They did not ask any questions about the springs or the type of system it was. My husband was home for the service call. Upon arrival, Anthony said he did not know how to fix our spring and called in. The person he called stated they did not repair the spring we had, but we could convert to an extension style spring for $ 395.00. After arriving home I found out the door wasn’t repaired and were charged a $ 29 service call fee, which would have been fine if I had not told them what kind of spring we had. When I called in to discuss the service fee with Mike I was told since the outside phone service the company uses didn’t take notes on our conversation about the spring I had to pay the service call fee.
This is not my issue, it is a company issue. You shouldn’t punish the customer for your lack of professionalism. If you use an outside phone service you need to make sure they are taking adequate notes and asking the questions needed to serve the customer.

We had a very poor experience with D&L Garage Doors. I purchased a Groupon and called — no questions were asked about my residence, we were just told that a service tech could come the next day so I assumed based on the site that the estimate was free. Tech showed up the next day, told us our springs were too old to fix and charged us $ 30. They wouldn’t take the $ 50 Groupon for the payment either, so I was out $ 80 for zero work. When I called to request a refund of the $ 30 it was not given because I was told only phone estimates were free. Not sure how I was supposed to get a phone estimate besides calling, which I’d done in the first place. The excuse I was given was «well I wasn’t the one who handled your call.» Nice. I will not be working with them.

Came home Friday and the spring on my garage door broke. I needed to get it fixed ASAP and call D&L Garage Doors Saturday morning. Anthony showed up at the appointment time even calling to verify my address before coming over.
When Anthony showed up, he quickly gave me a couple of options and price quotes. He also took the time to explain each option in detail along with the benefits of each.
After I made my decision, Anthony got to work and replaced both springs as we agreed.
The work was done fast with great quality and it came with a 3 year warranty for the springs.
I will recommend D&L to my friend and look forward doing business with them again in the future.

One of our units died and these guys came out to replace it. The job was a bit strange b/​c our door is shorter than it should be and the track was too long. The track was completely replaced as well as the unit — job well done! As both of our units were about 20 years old, the other one will have to be replaced in the nearer future and we will definitely have these guys back out! Great job!

Eric was the garage technician that was sent to my location in replacing garage springs for my double car garage. He was on time and had a positive demeanor prior to servicing the springs. I would recommend this company in doing any garage work that requires a technician. The price wasn’t too expensive, and was reasonable based on the quotes I’ve received from other companies. Also, they charge a service fee for Eric to come out and offer a quote. I almost backed out because they wanted $ 298 for replacement of both springs; however, I was able to negotiate it down to $ 210. Good work guys, keep it up!

Great job replacing our door on short notice. Would reccomend highly! Our technician was very professional and despite running into larger issues, finished the job on time & for what was quoted. Will be our provider down the road. Responsive & Responsible!

Our garage door had been making lots of noises so I called D & L Garage Doors for a quote for a tune up service. Their price was reasonable and they could have a technician to the house in 30 minutes on a Saturday. I was impressed with Eric who was very knowledgeable and showed me that there were a couple of issues going on with the garage door and it needed new rollers, an adjustment to the tensioner as well as a tune up. within an hour, the garage door is running a 100 times better and i’m sure i saved it from becoming a bigger issue later by not waiting…
