We held our late summer wedding on the Ecotrust terrace. This venue is a magical place for such an event, as you are perched atop the building but still nestled into The Pearl District. The city skyline backed by the West Hills is gorgeous from every direction, and it provides ideal conditions for a variety of photo opportunities. As the event drifted from late afternoon into the night, and the buildings gradually illuminated, the terrace and its surroundings seemed to evolve and become beautiful in numerous ways. Lauren — one of the most cool-headed and professional people you could ask to work with as a site contact — seamlessly facilitated the arrangements and provided all of the information we needed to host our guests in a fashion that made everyone feel special. From layout to execution of the plan, everything felt personalized and effortless(though so much was clearly going on behind the scenes). We are also very grateful to a staff worked hard to accommodate us, despite some last-minute question marks regarding the weather. We wanted a wedding that felt stylish and elegant, and we wanted a planning process that was uncomplicated. Selecting Ecotrust made that combination possible, and they facilitated what my new wife and I consider to be the best day of our entire lives.

We had our wedding on the Ecotrust rooftop and are so glad we did! Yes, it is a little spendy, but try finding a better rooftop for a wedding in Portland. It was hot up there for our 4:30 festivities in August, but the sunset was stunning and we loved dancing under the café lights till we reluctantly packed up and left at 10pm. I have to give special kudos to Lauren Ward, who shepherded us through the process and all the details. I would have a nervous breakdown if I had her job for a week… but she carries it off with absolute calm and professionalism. She rolled with our last-minute changes and did not even once appear flustered. Great job!

Go to Laughing Planet and get a beer. Walk with your beer towards the elevator. Get into the elevator and press the button for floor three(its rather slow, take a sip of beer during the ride if you would like). When the doors open, walk out and turn left towards the patio. Go onto the patio and enjoy your beer. It is really that simple.

SUCH the cool building; go ahead… walk inside, I dare ya — - Open, inviting layout… good plan for multi-use stores. open interior for casual meetings across a table. Rooftop is a great venue for special gatherings — -

The roof of the Ecotrust building is one of the best spots in NW portland for an event. The view is spectacular, the space is generous and comfortable, and it’s just so very Portland. Echotrust has a fantastic event planning team, and a great selection of catering companies. It’s fun, impressive(great for out-of-town client meetings), and delicious!

Awesome building, great crowds there on the picnic tables outside on a nice day, and highly recommend as a place to meet in the Pearl due to food options Laughing Planet Café and Hot Lips Pizza. Plenty of choices at each and neat indoor seating as well. Parking might be a little rough, but make the world a better place & use the rail/streetcar if possible!

This is a great building to hang out and work in. The owner is often there with his adorable dog walking around carrying his own leash. The location is very convenient and everyone is very friendly. Its not too loud and I’ve had several meetings with my clients. Coffee is decent and the hot lips pizza smell is every present.

Just worked with Ecotrust folks for an event for our university’s alumni. Jeanne and Chad were professional through and through and set us up for a fun and relaxed event. They were always responsive and accommodating, went the extra mile. We’ll definitely plan to use them again.

I know that this place throws BEAUTIFUL weddings, and maybe I am being a little harsh, but when I toured through this place, I left feeling a little let down. The pricing sounds great at first, but it adds up really quickly because of the insurance, permits, and selected caterers that you have to use. I almost wish that they would just include all of the permits into the pricing as many locations do so that you know right off the bat what you are in for.(I know, I’m getting married, I should be used to wedding pricing) There is no kitchen available for caterers so everything has to be brought by the caters, which we were told was simple, but when I called one of the preferred caterers, they made it sound like the opposite, and it completely limited the options of what we could serve as far as food. There is also no place to really get ready. They recommend putting in tents on the edges of the space, but then it really limits the number of people that the space can accommodate. There are restrooms, but they are just single rooms so you can’t really get ready in them. You also have to get your noise permit approved because of all of the residences surrounding the building. I totally understand this, but it makes it hard to have any sort of live music or dj in the outside area, and you have to cool it down after 10. It’s a beautiful space and their coordinator was more then helpful to answer all of my questions, but again, I left feeling a little let down when I thought I was going to love everything about it. It’s a great space if you are looking fora mellow«Pearl District» wedding. I’m a SE girl, so maybe I should have known that it wasn’t meant to be.

I agree with Angela B’s glowing 5-star review. The EcoTrust building is smack dab in the center of the Pearl, and is a humble reminder that the«Posh Pearl» did indeed used to be an Industrial area worthy of the Lorax’s shame. Over a century has passed, and now this converted warehouse has been revitalized by Ecotrust as the mecca of everything«green» «sustainable» in Portland. It is a unique paradox of Portland’s namesake days of Industrial yore — and our future through conservation and innovation. More importantly — it is beautiful! And you MUST take Angela B’s tip and head up to the rooftop space for lunch.

This is a very cool space in the Pearl District that used to be an old warehouse, but has since been converted to a retail marketplace by utilizing green building techniques. One of my favorite secrets about this building is that it has a beautiful outside terrace overlooking the city. The rooftop space is open to the public during business hours, which makes for a fun lunchtime getaway. There are chairs and tables available, so the space can fill up quickly on a sunny day. There is no need to purchase food from one of the purveyors to utilize the rooftop space, so go ahead and brown bag-it and head up the stairs to enjoy the backdrop of our beautiful city.
