Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Great service! We were very particular about the vehicle we wanted and staff were very friendly easy to deal with and professional and worked very hard to get the car we wanted. Much appreciated!

Overall the staff here is very friendly and I didn’t have to deal with any shady upselling. I needed a rental while mine was in the shop. They were great at working with my insurance. My complaint was that they gave me a car with no gas in it. The sales rep said they hadn’t had a chance to refill it and he would mark Empty on my paperwork. Well I barely made it two miles before the gas tank light came on. I had to find a gas station or I wouldn’t have made it home. I had no clue how much gas I would need until my car would be fixed so I put $ 20 in it. It’s pretty much impossible to return a car on empty unless I did unnecessary driving around so I ended up giving them gas when I returned it. Had I known it was on fumes when I rented it I would have asked for another. I wish they had been more upfront about the exact amount in the tank.

Most bizarre car rental experience that I have ever had. The sales person was a little too friendly and gave the impression of a cheesy car salesman. I know they are trying to upsell you on a more luxurious car however I really wish we could skip the walk through the lot to pick out a car that may or may not be more expensive than the car you reserved. I really just want to know which ones are classified as mid size and I will pick whichever one is closest to the front. I also don’t like the push to add the insurance. If I want to know more about what is covered and what isn’t, I will ask.
Overall I like enterprise, this experience could be a little better.

Do NOT rent from these guys. These guys will to hustle you. Lots of shady used car salesman tactics here. Really unscrupulous employees that will lie to your face and add trash to your contract after you come to terms. The guy basically saw the rate we had booked online then started trying to work up our bill until it was almost twice what we started out with in worse car than what we’d reserved!
Gave me some nonsense about $ 10/​day fee for going to Canada. Totally fabricated — there is ABSOLUTELY nothing about this in the enterprise contract. Nothing. the slimy sales guy «hooked us up» with a «special deal» on the damage waiver that we explicitly declined for $ 16 total but when i looked at the contract it was added on as $ 16/​day. That «hook up» was full price for the waiver (which is also totally ludicrious because my insurance covers rentals which had told him before and hence had declined). These guys were utterly dishonest and misleading. I wonder how these guys sleep at night. Avoid at all costs. The enterprise on sandy is 1000x better; once I got in the car, read the contract and saw how we’d been taken, I returned the car within the hour and these jerks still had the gall to charge me the daily rate instead of the hourly even after i’d described to them how they swindled me. These guys are liars and cheats. Take your business elsewhere.

These guys came through in a clutch! Chad and team from the downtown office were great and made sure I made it to the actual location that I reserved the automobile. The Burnside office were more than accommodating, staying open a bit after closing to making sure I was able to get my automobile. Everyone was super nice and courteous– Special thanks to Matthew Sparks and Julie for being patient and super clear about insurance and gas options. (they have the cheapest in town!) Made my gig with no troubles and will be doing that trip regularly. I’ll most certainly be back.

I really don’t see the point of planning out a reservation of this branch down to the hour that you need it – if they don’t even have the car available when you want it. I waited over an hour for a reservation that should have been available by the time I arrived. They did provide options to get me a car faster (go to another location, or upgrade to a more expensive car), but these were not useful for me. Sadly, I do need the «We’ll pick you up» option and this is the branch that services the area I stay in, so I’ll be repeating my business here. I just wish they had their inventory under control a little better.

These guys were great. Amazing customer service. Wade was fast and even saved a little bit of the planet by giving us a deal on a minivan so we didn’t have to waste gas taking seven people in two cars to the beach! Don’t ever have to drive to PDX for a car again. Thanks Wade! Thanks Enterprise!

Worst Customer Service! Kelly the car was rude and less than helpful. And they were 30 minutes late on pick up that they changed three times!

I chose this Enterprise for it’s convenient location and the price – didn’t even look at the reviews. By the looks of it, my experience was not unique. Our 10 am reservation was not ready until 11:15, and we were continuously told «it’s on it’s way, it’s almost here.» However, I don’t really have an issue with the customer service itself – the staff was very polite, and obviously stressed about things beyond their control. Seemed like behind the scenes is where the backlog was. When we returned the car, we got a discounted rate for the trouble. I’d probably choose another location first if possible, but would give this one another chance.

I originally chose this location and made a reservation since it offered lower rates than other enterprise offices in Portland. The initial service with the office definitely created some frustration but I was extremely impressed with the level of effort and customer service offered to make up for the delays. It took about an hour to get a car that was smaller than what I had reserved which had not yet been cleaned. After spending the day in the car and returning it, I was surprised to receive a large discount as an apology for the delay and mixup. Sometimes things don’t always work out, but I am happy to say that Enterprise did its due diligence to maintain a high level of customer service when issues did come up. Thank you!

Sure you get the whole spiel about getting the insurance coverage and pre-​paid gas, that’s inevitable. Nothing new here. The reason this location gets 5 stars in my book is because when I dropped the car off the agent asked me, «Do you need a ride anywhere?» Yes, of course I did! I asked if they could drop me off back at my apartment across town and they said, «Sure, no problem.» That was just really awesome of you guys. Thanks!

I’m a loyal Enterprise renter and when I saw the reviews of this location after booking my recent car with them, I will admit I was a little concerned. However, I had no problems with long wait times described in some of the reviews. In fact, I had a very similar experience to Ricardo H. with excellent customer service and easy in & out both on pick up and returning of my vehicle.
If I had to complain about anything it would be the small lot making it difficult to navigate when everyone was returning their cars on a Friday night. I’ve learned to look off-​airport to find better deals for rentals and this one had the best in the area for the time period we needed. It’s a short walk from the Tri-​Met station (and a not too long walk from the Max station) and was easy to find.

I think renting a car is always painful business. We had a 9:00am reservation but was not able to pick up the car until 10:00am. Had I been told that I would have had to wait an hour, I would have walked back to my hotel that was 5 minutes away and waiting. I cannot imagine the backend of working at a car rental business but if a person had a reservation, shouldn’t the car be there. The only thing that helped me be less upset is Andrew, the employee who was doing our paperwork, who was very talkative and gave us a great breakfast recommendation. I think he even felt sorry for me and the wait time.

This is the absolute worst Enterprise location I’ve ever been to… Long lines and slow service is their specialty. They don’t have self– check-​in kiosks, they use old-​school paper receipts stacked on a desk to track rentals, and even force you to wait in the same long lines to simply return your car. Highly inefficient…
The place is woefully understaffed and chaotic. The employees, while mostly friendly, are also mostly clueless, and moving in very sloooow motion. It took 45 minutes to RETURN the car! wow… At least the car (a Cadillac ATS for a wine country road trip) was nice
Bring your patience if you decide to rent from this location

They are trying. But, overwhelmed. Wait time was quite excessive, actually unacceptable, disorganized, etc.
Hopefully someone in management beyond this specific office will see this and help these guys out.

Renting a car should definitely NOT take over 40 minutes. And by the looks of it, there is a clear pattern of poor service and lengthy wait times, on various Unilocal reviews. Did I mention we has a reservation and an appointment? There were several groups waiting, so we weren’t the only ones. There were so many people waiting, that the waiting area inside was full. We arrived on time to be told our car was on it’s way in about 15 minutes. Okay, no big deal. Half hour later, still no car. The entire time I was eyeing the Black Jetta that was parked underneath their half-a**ed carwash station thinking how annoyed I would be if that was our car.
40 minutes later… it turns out it was our car, just sitting there. While waiting outside in the heat (it was actually hot and sunny in Portland), I watched one of the female managers help the staff that was in charge of washing the vehicles, and let me tell you, there was NO washing involved. A quick spray with the hose and they were done. The same was applied to our car. They shouldn’t have even bothered. They just sprayed more dust all over the windshield. In between spraying cars the staff were literally racing cars in and out of the lot, I thought for sure there were going to be some fender benders.
To make up for the inconvenience, they offered a 10% discount and said we could return the car on empty.
I’ve never seen such a disorganized and inefficient operation. So, nope, I would not recommend this location.

This enterprise location, while having pleasant employees, has terrible service!!! We had to wait over an hour because they did not have any rental cars available even though we had a reservation! Other customers were also waiting for 30−60mins for their reservation! Do not use this location!!!

I have used Enterprise on several occasions and each worked out well. I have found their vehicles well maintained, staff efficient and courteous, and pricing for service competitive. Also, when travel plans have had to be modified, I have not been hit with a big price increase as has happened with other rental car companies.

Renting a car should NOT take 2 hours. There were 4 people waiting inside so we were 5^th in line. There was a really nice guy named Joe working and a woman. We arrived at 9 am on a Sunday with a reservation, expecting it to take no more than 30 minutes and even that’s a very generous time frame. We had plans to go watch the Mexico-​Netherlands game which started at 9 am. How did we get through the entire game at Enterprise, watching it on our phones?
We were told «thank you for your patience», «you are next», and «your car is almost ready» for 2 hours! Someone who came in after us got their car right away. We sat there and watched car after car being washed and parked while ours sat there. We were given an upgrade but I would have preferred our original rental if it would have been faster. There really was no order to how customers were being handled. If they would have taken the time with each customer to get them out of there I think we would have been taken care of more quickly. Two different people came in way after us to return cars and they were taken care of as well before us. And each phone call they answered took forever. The calls should also be put in a queue. Even though the staff was very nice, they were not very efficient and wasted our time.

I think Enterprise Rent A Car in general is a great rental car company. For one, I like that it is Family owned and that every one of their employees is a college graduate. I have nothing against not going to college, but it is more about starting a goal and finishing it, even when the going gets tough. Not to get off the subject, but I needed to rent a car from this location off and on for one month and they were excellent! The great thing about this company is that they want feedback right, then and there, so they can go above and beyond your expectations. I firmly believe they are doing their best to give the customer the best customer experience as possible, which is awesome.
