I’ve been studying belly dance here for two years now. Jane Archer is a stellar instructor but has stopped holding classes herself, but that’s OK! Because Cassiopeia is teaching at least 7 classes a week in Egyptian Cabaret style, and she is terrific. She tells you not just what to do but why, keeps a close eye on the students to see if anyone is struggling, adjusts the material from class to class to match the skill level, and is a gold mine of advice on not just dancing, but also performing as a dancer.
Regarding «Good for kids” – the youngest student in classes right now is five, and she’s learning right along with the rest of us. Anyone who actually pays attention and tries to learn is welcome, and we have students of all ages and body types.

This is a cute little studio with many dance rooms right off of Division. I sad to now say that my class I was taking here has moved but if you have a chance to take a class here the rooms are all nice and clean and the building itself is well kept.

Jane Archer started Eupohria as a dance community, and it’s still thriving.
I started belly dancing years ago, studying at Fat Chance Belly Dance, the originator of American Tribal Style. If you’re in the Bay Area, you’re dumb to start anywhere else on your dance journey.
Grad school took me to the beautiful, haunted central valley where I studied with Unmata. When I came home, I started up again, this time with Gypsy Caravan.
Since starting at Euphoria, my dance form and style has improved by leaps and bounds. Jane and the other teachers are really well-​versed in dance anatomy, and will correct your posture over and over again with loving kindness, so you avoid injury and can keep on dancing.
The dance comunity is welcoming and loving and supportive, no matter what level you come in at. If you’ve never danced before, if you have medical issues that require modifications (I do), these women know what to do. You’ll also learn by osmosis all kinds of musical and cultural knowledge others just don’t teach, or gloss over.
Jane started Neo-​Tribal belly dance, has been dancing most of her life, and instills joy. You will make friends, learn to appreciate your body, and have fun doing so.
If you’ve been having trouble with your mind-​body connection, and yoga and pilates and Nia just aren’t really doing it for you, I’m willing to bet belly dance is where you’ll conect with your divine feminine.
It is so damn cool to see how my body has changed, have a new sense of confidence, and feel steeped in beauty.
I still mix it up with other studios, but this is my home studio. Can I mention again how much my dancing has improved under Jane, how Vicki is just a wild woman joy incarnate? True story.

When I first arrived in Portland Feb. 2008 Euphoria was the first studio I began taking classes at and I’ve been hooked ever since. Both studio spaces are comfortable and BEAUTIFUL. Featuring Bellydance, Yoga, Salsa, Nia, and more. I loved it so much that I’ve become a teacher there as well as a student.

If you’re inspired by the swirling dresses and passion of Flamenco dancing, pick out a good pair of heeled shoes to stomp around in and head to Euphoria. At its convenient location on 12^th and Division, Euphoria is one of the most active dance studios dedicated to Flamenco in the city.
