Eye Group Dispensary

This was my first visit. The location was easy to find. I arrived on time but was disappointed at having to wait 25 minutes to be seen. The person at the front desk did not seem to concerned when, after waiting 15 minutes, I confirmed I had the correct time for my appointment. After checking a second time I was informed all the exam rooms were full.
The wait is really the only negative experience. The technician and doctor were great. Very thorough and professional. The doctor ordered an additional test that I learned wasn’t covered by my vision insurance so they offered to call my medical insurance to determine what they might cover. The optician was also knowledgeable about my vision insurance and got me a new pair of frames instead of reusing the frames in my older/​backup glasses.

If all the associates at Eye Group are as remarkable as Dr. Grieve, it’s a rare and outstanding organization. His expertise and knowledge are apparent, but he shares both in a detailed, yet matter of fact manner. It’s very reassuring to consult with a professional of his caliber, and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Best eye appointment ever! Dr. Schmidt was very personable, caring, and knowledgeable. My visit turned out to be quite fun and quick. The receptionists were very knowledgeable and helpful and we’re understanding when I mentioned purchasing glasses elsewhere. Overall, I think this place was great and I will certainly be back!

Dr. Grieve is amazing. He is so sweet and truly did a thorough job and helped explain to me many eye problems I was having. Their office was extremely nice and the staff was very friendly.

How can I be 41 and have just now, finally found a terrific eye doctor/​clinic? I had a severe eye infection that was so bad I couldn’t open my eyes – my boyfriend got to searching and calling and after 2 clinics turned us down for a «squeezed in» appointment, one of them referred us to The Eye Group Associates. So glad they did! They saw me right away (I saw Dr. Grieve, but I am confident all the doctors would provide as great of an experience there), they took plenty of time checking everything, asking me lots of questions to get the whole picture and then went through a very thorough and easy to understand explanation of what had been going in my eyeballs. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and courteous! I will recommend this clinic to all who need eye care.

It’s always fun (insert sarcastic scowl here) to vett new service providers after a move. Being optically challenged I had quick need for a new eye doctor.
Dr. Kimberly Mabry-​Schmidt was thorough, knowledgeable and personable. She was a master of the doctor version of the assumptive close. «We’ll watch that at our next visit». «I’m not worried about that yet, but we’ll check it next time». It made me think we were bonding. I felt like part of a team.
The clinic was professional and efficient. They didn’t pressure me to buy their frames, they happily fit my old ones. They called me promptly when my glasses were ready.
Overall, I’m happy with The Eye Group Associates and I look forward to my next visit.

Dr. Mabry is awesome — a great blend of vivacious and knows-​her-​stuff-​cold. I also very much appreciate the focus here on eye health and proper prescriptions rather than on selling marked-​up contacts and eyeglasses. I did not feel pressured to buy my frames and contacts at the Eye Group (if they even sell frames and contacts, not sure that they do!) and I like that.

I have been seeing Dr Grieve since I first got glasses as a teenager. I have no complaints.
Eye Group Associates and their dispensary consists of five doctors and a selection of high end frames. The office is a pretty typical (albeit very nice) old school Portland medical office.
I have gone elsewhere and regretted it. When I lived in Phoenix, I would wait for trips home to schedule eye exams.

I went here to get my presciption filled. It’s located in the building I work in, so it is convenient. Also they had a pair of frames I was looking for that I couldn’t really find anywhere else I have looking. They were very helpful and answered my questions and set me up.
A few years back, I went to the eye doctors in the adjoining clinic. They did a good job, but I always felt that they didn’t get my prescription quite right. I did find another doctor who is the only one who gets it right the first time. (yes, I am very particular and very sensitive to minor variations on my glasses). For convenience, I’d still be going here if my wife hadn’t found my current doctor.

I’ve been a patient at the Eye Group Dispensary for all my routine vision care for the past nine years. Their convenient downtown location was the main reason I originally visited. Both Dr. Nudelman and Dr. Grieves are highly professional but also very friendly and caring eye doctors. It has been easy to get appointments for my yearly check-​up. The Eye Group Dispensary has a nice selection of glasses on site, and they can usually get my contact lens prescription filled within less than a week. When my glasses break or need an adjustment, they’ve actually fixed or adjusted my glasses for free, in addition to giving me free samples of contact lens solution.
While their prices may not be as low as places like Lenscrafters’, the Eye Group Dispensary’s quality of care and customer service is worth the extra price. I really appreciate being consistently treated as a patient and a person.

I’ll be honest, I went here because it’s in the lobby of my office building. But I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the staff. Dr. Nudelman is a very sweet guy and took me through my eye exam quickly and easily. Also, when my online contact lens order turned out to take longer than expected (I have to wait another week for lenses even though the one in my right eye has a tear!), the front desk staff was very helpful in getting me a free trial sample pair of lenses that I could use in the meantime without having to buy a whole box of them — talk about helpful.

I also had Dr. Nuddleman. He was really awesome and went through all the ins and outs and that was all well and good. I’ve never had glasses, nor have i had a eye check since I was like 12.
There were two things of irksome nature.
#1 if you only validate in one lot you should tell your clients that when you make the appointment or when you call before the appt.
#2 I told you my insurance, you should know what my co-​pay is and not make me wait 25 min to pay.
but all in all, the glasses selection was decent i think and the Dr. was very nice.
